Virtual reality is becoming a powerful tool for various applications such as training, entertainment, surgery, tele-robotics etc. One potential use for virtual reality is to allow several users to interact in a single virtual environment, for example several students sitting in front of different computers connected over a network. In this paper, we present a loosely coupled architecture of haptic display in the multi-user virtual world. The method of controlling haptic devices as well as the way of configuring individual haptic display system are addressed. We will develop an experimental virtual reality system for two remote users and conclude with an experimental work for the task of a multi-player ping-pong and grasping of a common object.

SOA는 특정 기술이나 플랫폼에 종속되지 않고 느슨한 결합(Loosely Coupled)을 가지고 상호 연동할 수 있는 서비스들의 조합으로 어플리케이션 개발을 가능하게 하는 정보시스템 아키텍처이다. 즉, 한 덩어리의 방대한 코드로 이루어진 어플리케이션들을 각각 개발하는 대신 각각의 비즈니스 기능을 수행하는 서비스를 구성하고, 이 서비스를 조합하거나 분리함으로써 비즈니스 프로세스들을 구현할 수 있게 하는 정보시스템 구축을 목표로 한다. 본 연구에서는 SOA기반 소프트웨어의 분야의 기반 기술을 조사하고 SOA기반 소프트웨어 장점 및 SOA기반 소프트웨어 효율성의 품질평가 메트릭을 개발하였다.

The accuracy of the Digital Photologging System, designed for the construction of the road Facility Database, highly depends on the positions and attitudes of the cameras from GPS/INS integration. In this paper, the development of a loosely coupled GPS/INS is presented. The performance of the system is verified through a simulation as well as a real test data processing. Since the IMU used in this study shows large systematic errors, the possible accuracy of the positions and attitudes of this low-performance IMU when combined with precise GPS positions are assigned. Currently, the integrated system shows the positional accuracy better than 5cm in real data processing. Although the accuracy of attitude based on real test could not be assigned at this time, it is expected that better than 0.5 degrees and 1.8 degrees for horizontal and down component are achievable according to the simulation result.

In this paper, the system model for the compensation of the low-cost personal navigation system is derived and the error compensation method using GPS is also proposed. WNS(Walking Navigation System) is a kind of personal navigation system using the number of a walk, stride and azimuth. Because the accuracy of these variables determines the navigation performance, computational methods have been investigated. The step is detected using the walking patterns, stride is determined by neural network and azimuth is calculated with gyro output. The neural network filters off unnecessary motions. However, the error compensation method is needed, because the error of navigation information increases with time. In this paper, the accumulated error due to the step detection error, stride error and gyro bias is compensated by the integrating with GPS. Loosely coupled Kalman filter is used for the integration of WNS and GPS. It is shown by simulation that the error is bounded even though GPS signal is blocked.

In this paper, the concept of contactless inductive power transfer system used for the PRT system is suggested and some ideas for Power transformer design to improve the power transfer performance are presented. This system has a large air-gap and demands a large electrical power capability But, low output power is generated due to a loosely coupled characteristic of the large air-gap. Therefore, double layer construction of secondary winding, which was divided in half to increase both output current and output voltage was suggested. In addition, the performance of power transformer alignment condition between the primary power line and the power collector was verified by computer simulation of 2kW model.

In this paper, we consider the strategy of Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) internetworking that provide the seamless vertical handover for mobile nodes. We propose Mobility Anchor Points (MAP) based UMTS/WLAN internetworking architecture to support the vertical handover. Also, on integrated UMTS/WLAN networks, we propose a vertical handover scheme that avoids the call blocking caused by the network resource shortage. We provide the numerical analysis to investigate the performance evaluation to the proposed scheme and compare the proposed scheme with the existing scheme.

SNP는 개인과 개인간의 DNA에 존재하는 한 염기 쌍의 차이(single base-pair variation)이다. SNP를 이용하면 사람마다 다른 유전병의 형태 등을 규명할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 한국생명공학연구원의 유전체 사업단에서 개발해 오고 있는 웹기반 SNP데이터 검색 시스템의 설계와 구현에 대해서 설명한다. 본 시스템은 일반 속성(attribute)을 저장하고 검색하기 위해 PostgreSQL DBMS를 사용하고, DNA 시퀸스 검색을 위해 BLAST검색엔진을 사용한 약결합 아키텍쳐(loosely-coupled architecture)를 채택하고 있다. 즉, 일반 속성으로 저장될 수 있는 데이터들은 데이터베이스의 테이블들의 컬럼 값으로 저장하고 SQL 언어를 통해 검색할 수 있도록 하였으며, DNA 시퀸스 검색을 위해서는 BLAST에서 제공하는 인덱스를 구축하고 BLAST 명령어를 사용하여 검색할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한, 결과 분석 모듈을 구현하여 검색 결과들이 다른 웹 사이트의 데이터를 가리키도록 하였다.

In this paper, the inductive power transformer using electromagnetic induction for the road/railway applied to contactless power transfer system is suggested and some ideas for power collector design to improve the power transfer performance are presented. The proposed the inductive power transformer is used for the light railway/road transportation system. which has a large air-gap and demands a large electrical power capability. But. low output power is generated due to a loosely coupled characteristic of the large air-gap. Therefore, double layer construction of secondary winding, which was divided in half to increase both output current and output voltage was suggested. In addition, the performance of inductive power transformer to alignment condition between the primary power line and the inductive power transformer was verified by computer simulation of 2kW model.

IT기술의 발전으로 e비즈니스가 확대됨에 따라 외부 기업과의 협업이 강조되고 있다. 일반적으로 협업에 대한 연구는 비즈니스적, 기술적 표준을 어떻게 설정하는가에 대한 방법론을 중심으로 다루어지고 있다. 하지만 현실적으로 시장 환경에서 협업은 기업의 힘에 의해 결정된다. 이러한 시각에서 본 연구는 기업이 힘의 균형을 이루고 있을 때, 효과적으로 동등한 수준의 협업을 이끌어 낼 수 있는 방안을 살펴보고 이를 적용한 사례를 소개하고자 한다.

As growth of operational complexity in power systems, necessity of information integration between automation systems such as EMS, SAS, DAS and renewable energy sources has been increased. This paper proposes a new information integration architecture between power automation systems based on web service technique. Loosely coupled feature of web service system can provide more flexible and reliable way to exchange information. Communication testing on the demonstration system has been performed to establish the feasibility of the proposed architecture.
