Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are remotely piloted or self-piloted aircraft by inputted program in advance or artificial intelligence. In this study Aileron and Elevator are used to control the movement of airplane for horizontal and vertical flights about its longitudinal and lateral axis. In an introduction, the drone was linearly modeled by extracting aerodynamic parameter through flight test and simulation, lift and drag coefficient corresponding to angle of attack, changes of pitching moment coefficient. In the main subject, the flight simulation was performed after constructing hardware using TMS320F2812 from TI company and PID with lateral and longitudinal controller for horizontal and vertical flights. Flying characteristics of two system were estimated and compared through real flight test with hardware equipped algorithm and adaptive algorithm that was applied to consider external factors such as turbulence. In conclusion the control performance of the controller with proposed algorithm was streamlined at lateral and longitudinal controller respectively, we will discuss guidance command to pass way point.
This paper estimates the residual longitudinal strength of a damaged double hull VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) under combined vertical and horizontal bending moments using Smith's method. The damage estimated in this study occurred due to collision or grounding accidents. The effects of the randomness of the yield stress, plate thickness, extent of damage, and the combination of these three parameters on the ultimate hull girder strength were investigated. Random variables were generated by a Monte Carlo simulation and applied to the double hull VLCC described by the ISSC (International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress) 2000 report.
Serviceability resign is required to control the cracking at the joint of precast decks having longitudinal prestress in continuous composite bridges. Especially, details of twin girder bridges are complex not only due to main reinforcements and transverse prestress for the resign of long-span concrete slabs but also due to shear pockets for obtaining the composite action. This paper suggests the design guidelines for the magnitude of the effective prestress and for the selection of filling materials and their requirements in order to use precast decks for twin-girder continuous composite bridges. The necessary initial prestress was also evaluated through the long-term behavior analysis. From the analysis, existing design examples were revised and their effectiveness was estimated. When a filling material having bonding strength higher than the requirement is used in the region of high negative moment, uniform configuration of longitudinal prestressing steels along the whole span length of continuous composite bridges can be achieved resulting in simplification of details and enhancement of the construction costs.
Inner support regions of continuous steel and concrete composite bridge decks, transverse crackings are easely developed by tensile forces due to live loads and primary and secondary effects of concrete shrinkage. Since these cracks have an influence on the durability of bridge decks, crack width should be controlled within allowable limit values. Although crack width is a function of steel stress, bar diameter, bar spacing, etc, the current code for the amount of longitudinal reinforcements provides only one value of 2 percent of the concrete area. In order to investigate cracking bahaviors of composite girders with the variation of the longitudinal steel ratios, negative flexural tests are conducted on five composite girders and crack width and crack spacing are compared to ACI Code and Eurocode. Based on the test results, it is discussed the suitability of the current code for the longitudinal steel ratio.
The ductility of circular hollow reinforced concrete columns with one layer of longitudinal and spiral reinforcement placed near the outside face of the section and the steel tube placed on the inside face of the section is investigated. Such hollow sections are confined through the wall thickness since the steel tube is placed. The results of analytical moment-curvature analyses for such hollow sections are compared with those for the circular section with the sane diameter. In this study, moment-curvature analyses are conducted with Mandel's confined concrete stress-strain relationship in which the effect of confinement is to increase the compression strength and ultimate strain of concrete. The moment-curvature analyses confirmed that the ductility is primarily influenced on the ultimate strain. The variables influenced on the ultimate strain is the ratio and yield strength of confining reinforcement and the compression strength for confined concrete. From this ultimate strain - the transverse reinforcement ratio relationship, the transverse reinforcement ratio for circular hollow reinforced columns with confinement is proposed. The proposed transverse reinforcement ratio is confirmed by experimental results.
A rigorous analysis of a broad wall slot array is presented. The slot is longitudinal and offset from the center line in the rectangular waveguide. Pertinent integral equations are developed, taking into account finite wall thickness. The mothed of moment with entire basis function is used to solve a pair of coupled-integral equations, derived from the electromagnetic boundary conditions using modified Green's function, to find the tangential electric field on the upper and lower surfaces of the slot. Numerical results for resonant length and scattering parameters of the slots are Presented over a range of offset. Computed results are compared with experimental result.
This paper considers a delamination analysis of a statically undetermined inhomogeneous beam structure of rectangular section with viscoelastic behavior under torsion. The beam is built in at its two ends. The beam has two longitudinal inhomogeneous layers with a delamination crack between them. A notch is made in the upper crack arm. The external torsion moment applied on the beam is a function of time. Under these conditions, the beam has one degree of indeterminacy. In order to derive the strain energy release rate, first, the static indeterminacy is resolved. Then the strain energy release rate is obtained by analyzing the balance of the energy with considering the viscoelastic behavior. The strain energy release rate is found also by analyzing the compliance of the beam for checkup. Solution of the strain energy release rate in a beam without a notch in the upper crack arm is derived too. In this case, the beam has two degrees of static indeterminacy (the torsion moment in the upper crack arm is treated as an additional internal redundant unknown). A parametric investigation of the strain energy release rate is carried-out.
