The Validation Test process and CTE Suitability Evaluation based on IEC-61508 for Improving Safety and Reliability on Unmanned ICT Parcel Storage

  • In modern society, since the expansion of the e-commerce market and the spread of the pandemic, face-to-face business are gradually changing to non-face-to-face. In the logistics industry, the demand for unmanned courier storage is increasing due to lack of loading space from urbanization and courier theft accidents. As the demand for unmanned parcel lockers increases, improved functions such as food storage and efficient space loading are required. This study develops an integrated model-based evaluation procedure of product based on performance factors according to the IEC 61508 standard for newly unmanned parcel storage devices with active loading technology, and derive Critical Technology Element based on the product's core functions and performance goals. As proposing these research, We expect improve the safety and reliability of development targets by identifying and evaluating elements.

  • e-비즈니스 환경 하에서 전자적 데이터 교환 또는 WEB을 이용한 비즈니스 트랜잭션 처리를 통해 산업 부분별 자동화나 정보화가 활발히 진행되었다. 전자적으로 데이터를 처리함으로 인해 기존 오프라인을 이용한 비즈니스 환경 보다는 처리 속도나 처리 시간이 단축되었으며 비용도 많이 절감되었다. 그러나 점차 실시간적으로 데이터를 처리하거나 실시간적으로 화물에 대한 흐름을 추적하고자 하는 사용자들의 요구사항이 도출되기 시작하였다. 이에 RFID, USN 등의 유비쿼터스 개념과 기술을 이용한 u-비즈니스가 도입되어 각 분야에 활발히 적용되고 있다. 특히 유통이나 운송 등 물류 분야에 유비쿼터스 기술이 적용됨으로 실시간으로 데이터를 수집할 수 있어 화물의 흐름 추적을 용이할 수 있는 기반이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 비즈니스 환경에 적합하도록 EPC Global 표준에 따라 개발된 RFID 미들웨어를 항만 물류 비즈니스에 적용할 수 있는 비즈니스 모델을 정의하였다. 또한 정의한 비즈니스 모델을 항만 물류 분야에 적용한 사례와 적용 결과에 대해 논의하고자 한다.

  • In general, most of the firms do not settle down in one place for their pursuit of profit. There are many reasons for the relocation of the firms; procurement of raw material, market area, transportation cost and housing cost. The aspect of national policy, firm relocation has been systemically promoted for the purpose of logistics system efficiency. Nowadays balanced regional development has been issue. Another aspect, many countries have struggled for the preoccupancy of new place because of its production cost saving and curtailment of expenditure. The aim of this article is qualitative and quantitative analysis of relocation influence factors of domestic goods firms in Korea. This article dynamically analyzed the relocation influence factors for domestic goods firms in Korea. For the analysis this article made use of complementary survey (2006) out of the 3rd national logistics survey (2005). The complementary survey conducted pre-business district, business period, relocation reason, etc. This article dynamically analyzed from the three aspects; observation of average residence time in one business district, relocation factors, influence of market area. Analysis shows that relocation of firm is very high rate and the reasons of relocation play compositeness role. The results of determinants of location, firms approach the established market area closely and the firm's relocation is influenced by market area.

M2M Architecture: Can It Realize Ubiquitous Computing in Daily life?

  • Ubiquitous computing called pervasive one is based on the thought of pervading ability of computation in daily life applications. In other words, it aims to include computation in devices such as electronic equipment and automobiles. This has led to disengagement of computers from desktop form. Accordingly, the notice in ubiquitous computing being taken of a world steeped in remote and wireless computer-based-services. Handheld and wearable programmed devices such as sense and control appliances are such devices. This advancement is rapidly moving domestic tasks and life from device-and-human communication to the device-and-device model. This model called Machine to Machine (M2M) has led to acceleration of developments in sciences such as nano-science, bio-science, and information science. As a result, M2M led to appearance of applications in various fields such as, environment monitoring, agricultural, health care, logistics, and business. Since it is envisaged that M2M communications will play a big role in the future in all wireless applications and will be emerged as a progressive linkage for next-generation communications, this paper aims to consider how much M2M architectures can realize ubiquitous computing in daily life applications. This is carried out after acquainting and initiating readers with M2M architectures and arguments for M2M. Some of the applications was not achievable before but are becoming viable owing to emergence of M2M communications.

  • As open skies polices have permeated all over the world, Korea's basic direction of aviation policy is promoting the benefit of the public and the national carriers' competitive power by establishing open skies agreements between the countries. The open skies' directions should be promoted by considering the relationships of various attributes such as governments, airlines, and passengers. To decide the right directions of open skies, we should investigate the economic effects of open skies policies. This research develops a simulation model to analyze the dynamic characteristics of open skies. By using the developed model, this research analyzes the economic effects of open skies.

The Adoption of Big Data to Achieve Firm Performance of Global Logistic Companies in Thailand

  • Purpose: Big Data analytics (BDA) has been recognized to improve firm performance because it can efficiently manage and process large-scale, wide variety, and complex data structures. This study examines the determinants of Big Data analytics adoption toward marketing and financial performance of global logistic companies in Thailand. The research framework is adopted from the technology-organization-environment (TOE) model, including technological factors (relative advantages), organizational factors (technological infrastructure and absorptive capability), environmental factors (industry competition and government support), Big Data analytics adoption, marketing performance, and financial performance. Research design, data, and methodology: A quantitative method is applied by distributing the survey to 450 employees at the manager's level and above. The sampling methods include judgmental, stratified random, and convenience sampling. The data were analyzed by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Model (SEM). Results: The results showed that all factors significantly influence Big Data analytics adoption, except technological infrastructure. In addition, Big Data analytics adoption significantly influences marketing and financial performance. Conversely, marketing performance has no significant influence on financial performance. Conclusions: The findings of this study can contribute to the strategic improvement of firm performance through Big Data analytics adoption in the logistics, distribution, and supply chain industries.

A Study on Chinese Consumers' Acceptance Intention of Mobile Payment Service: A Theory of Consumption Values Perspective (중국 소비자의 모바일 결제서비스 수용의도 연구: 소비가치 이론의 적용)

  • Mobile payment services are evolving into a variety of integrated platforms that greatly affect the lives of consumers. In addition, the importance of mobile payment services is being used as a means of payment in cross-border e-commerce. Accordingly, although a number of related studies have been conducted, most of the studies are based on the technology acceptance model. This study analyzes consumer acceptance intention of mobile payment services by applying consumption value theory. Four dimensions were derived from the theory of consumption value: functional value, emotional value, social value and situational value. With this, we identified the impact on consumer acceptance of mobile payment services. The analysis was performed using a structural equation model. Researchers collected 300 copies of the questionnaire from Chinese consumers and used it for analysis. Empirical analysis shows that functional value, emotional value, social value and situational value are all increasing consumers' willingness to accept mobile payment services. In addition, only social values were showing differences in their influence on the acceptance of mobile payment services with age. This study contributes to the development of the relevant field in that few studies describe mobile payment services by applying consumption value theory.

  • The purpose of this paper is to provide directional and policy references to develop a higher level of service quality and consumer-oriented e-commerce platform. This paper has established a model of consumer behavior of Chinese fresh agricultural e-commerce using customer satisfaction theory and cognitive value theory, and used survey and SPS23.0 to verify hypothesis. Studies have shown that when consumers consume fresh agricultural products, product quality, logistics and distribution service quality, interactive quality of e-commerce platform, and product price and cognitive value have a positive effect on consumer behavior. This study is meaningful in the study of consumer behavior of fresh agricultural e-commerce, and in the case of fresh agricultural e-commerce companies, consumer behavior can be understood. In the model constructed in this paper, the relationship between each influencing factor and consumer behavior is considered comprehensively, but the possible relationship between fine molecular factors has not been studied and analyzed. In the future learning process, it is necessary to make clear the characteristics and particularity of the industry, think about its influencing factors comprehensively and make in-depth analysis.

A Study on the Comparative Analysis of World Major Liner Shipping Companies' Ship Investment Strategy (세계 주요 정기선사의 선박 투자전략 비교분석에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to carry out comparative analysis on the world major liner shipping companies' ship investment strategy using Fuzzy-AHP model. In this study, the ship investment factors were firstly selected by literature review and finally adopted them by in-depth interview with experts who had working experiences over 15 years in the field of shipping business. As suggested in the previous research, the liner shipping companies have been classified into four types such as 'ship investment irrelevant to market trend'(Type1), 'ship investment before market rise'(Type2), 'market decline after participation in excessive orders'(Type3), 'avoidance of ship investment during market rise'(Type4) and the comparative analysis were conducted among four ship investment types. According to the results of analysis, ship investment priority in Type1 was freight rates(0.132), price of used ship(0.121) and fleet(0.103). The priority in Type2 was freight rates(0.134), need for ship owner(0.113) and public funding(0.109). Type3 put its priority in freight rates(0.173), fleet(0.169) and the changes in international circumstances(0.121). Type4 considered freight rates(0.239), fleet(0.232) and oil price(0.150) as its priority.

EPCglobal Network-Based Internet Escrow Service for Secure e-Commerce (EPCglobal 네트워크 기반 인터넷 에스크로 서비스)

  • Today as the scale of e-commerce constantly expands, the number and the amount of the consumer frauds are also increasing very rapidly, without sufficient levels of systematic support to prevent them. Internet Escrow service is one of the promising payment mechanisms, which guarantees secure electronic trades and payments. Especially, if the real-time product delivery information is available via RFID-based track-and-trace environment, the security and efficiency of the Internet Escrow services would be improved a lot. In this research, proposed a novel approach to integrate EPCglobal Network, which is a de-facto standard for RFID-based information network model, with Internet Escrow services. The proposed service model was implemented in the form of "Integrated Financial Platform", which supports the contracts among trading partners and the payment via Escrow services by being fully integrated with bank systems. Using the implemented EPCglobal Network-based Escrow service system, we would be able not only to shorten the money-flow cycle and to develop new kinds of loan services, but also to overcome the problems of existing Escrow services including the lack of product-related information and the delay of purchasing decisions.
