School Mathematics and Mathematics Education Focusing on the Change in the Enlightenment Period (개화기를 중심으로 살펴본 학교수학과 수학교육)

  • Mathematics can be divided into practical mathematics and logical mathematics. The 'Enlightenment Period' is the period in which our mathematics shifted from practical mathematics to logical mathematics. Considering the change of our school mathematics and mathematics education in the enlightenment period, we reach the following conclusions. First, the contents and forms of mathematics books followed to Western style, but the attitudes adhered to on. Second, making much of results than process, we are afraid of proof. Third, we necessitate the mathematics culture of enjoying itself.

A Logical Framework of Comparison Shopping Effectiveness and Comparison Challenge Methodology

  • This research describes the comparison broker's role and its effectiveness measurement using a developed logical framework of comparison shopping service. And verifies that seller-led comparison challenge method provide comparison information of products to buyers more efficiently. In electronic commerce, buyer's satisfaction of purchase (S) can be defined as an interactive function between seller's competitiveness vector (P) of products that supplied to the market, and buyer's informed level vector (B) of products that is known from a lot of sources. Then the buyer's informed level can be changed through the information analysis among products by transformation process using comparison matrix (C). So the role of comparison shopping is to construct a comparison matrix and to serve it to the buyers, and to change the buyer's informed level. The changed informed level influences a buyer's satisfaction, that improved satisfaction of purchase is defined as the effectiveness of comparison shopping. As a perfect provision and usage of comparison matrix is impossible cause of cognitive limit, the most efficient method for improving the comparison effectiveness is the comparison challenge that detects the comparison elements of the largest buyer's information efficiency, and then to be compared between elementary products selectively. This research verifies the substantial superiority of comparison challenge through television market data experiments.

A Study on Common Use of Chinese Character Notation of Beam and Purlin (보와 도리의 한자표기(漢字表記) 통용(通用)에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to present Chinese character notation for common use through investigation of examples and graphonomy related literature with beam and purlin of wooden members and its conclusions are as follows. It suggests two commonly used Chinese characters of beam and purlin. The first method of indicating them is Riyang(樑) for beam and Hang(桁) for purlin and the second method is Bo(保) for beam and Hang(桁) for purlin. Riyang(樑) as the first method was already used in the Joseon period and was profitable to convey limited meaning as wooden term compared to Riyang(樑) with wider meaning and Bo(保) as the second method contained logical association and hieroglyphic connection of Bo(保) as the Korean character. Hang(桁) for purl in was presented by both the first and second methods and it was already used in the Koryeo age, also commonly used as the term of purlin in China and Japan and it was also presented as letter containing logical and hieroglyphic connection with Hyeng(行).

  • To enhance the practical usage of solely quantitative evaluation method for each students on the current public education fields which might cause some social problems, an intelligent and adaptive fuzzy logical inference methodology for the additional qualitative evaluation technique is proposed to utilize each students personal characteristic properties to be evaluated. Proposed method uses some verbal descriptions for the linguistic qualifier in addition to the grade points. An imaginary virtual experimentation only has been implemented due to some difficulties with the critical national educational policy problems in the case of some possibly real and practical experimental environments to be utilized for the simulation.

  • This paper presents a method of constructing an Arithmetic Operation Unit Systems (A.O.U.S.) over Galois Field GF(2**m) for the purpose of the four arithmetical operation(addition, subtraction, multiplication and division between two elements in GF(2**mm). The proposed A.O.U.S. is constructed by following procedure. First of all, we obtained each four arithmetical operation algorithms for performing the four arithmetical operations using by mathematical properties over GF(2**m). Next, for the purpose of realizing the four arithmetical unit module (adder module, subtracter module, multiplier module and divider module), we constructed basic cells using the four arithmetical operation algorithms. Then, we realized the four Arithmetical Operation Unit Modules(A.O.U.M.) using basic cells and we constructd distributor modules for the purpose of merging A.O.U.M. with distributor modules. Finally, we constructed the A.O.U.S. over GF(2**m) by synthesizing A.O.U.M. with distributor modules. We prospect that we are able to construct an Arithmetic & Logical Operation Unit Systems (A.L.O.U.S.) if we will merge the proposed A.O.U.S. in this paper with Logical Operation Unit Systems (L.O.U.S.).

  • There is a method which identifies validity of program by transforming program to verification condition to verify program. If program is verified by generating verification condition, verification condition must have enough and accurate information for verifying program. However, verification condition is consisting of logical formulas, so the user cannot easily identify the verification condition. In this paper, we implemented program that visualize the poorly readable verification conditions. By the program, the users can easily identify information, such as the relationship between logical formulas that represent verification condition.

  • The Purposes of This Study is to investigate the relationships among Multiple Intelligence(MI). Creativity and Home Economics achievements of the middle & high school students. The research of this study are performed as follows Subject of this study were 142 middle school student & 127 girls' high school. And The “Creativity Test” developed by Korean Creativity Research Institute(1998). Multiple Developmental Assesment scale were administrated as data gathering tools And end-term exam scores on 9 subject were collected as the measure of academic achievement. Especially the Home Economics achievement were collected with Written test and performance assesment. The data were analysed by pearson's correlation. The findings of this study were as follows: 1) A statistically significant correlation among the MI and Home Economics achievements in middle school students(linguistic, Logical-mathematical. Musical. Interpersonal, Intrapersonal) and high school students(linguistic, Logical-mathematical, Interpersonal) were found. But There were not statistical difference between another 8 subjects. 2) In middle school students. a statistically significant correlation among the creativity and Home Economics achievements were found But in high school students, statistically significant correlation among the creativity and Home Economics achievements were not found 3) In MI and Home Economics achievements correlation. there were not difference between written test and performance assesment.

The Relationships Among Achievements in Algorithmic Problems, Achievements in Figure-Formatted and Textual-Formatted Conceptual Problems, and Cognitive Variables (수리 문제,그림 및 문장으로 제시된 개념 문제의 생취도 및 인지변인들 사이의 관계)

  • High school students' achievements in algorithmic problems, and figure-formatted and textual-formatted conceptual problems concerning stoichiometry, gaseous state, and solution, were measured by the Chemistry Problem Solving Ability Test. The relationships among the achievement scores in the three types of problems and cognitive variables such as logical thinking ability, mental capacity, and field dependence/field independence were examined. The portion of variance of explanation for each achievement score was also studied by a multiple regression analysis. The results showed that logical thinking ability was significantly correlated with the achievement score in the algorithmic problems, and accounted for the significant portion of the variance of the score. Mental capacity accounted for the significant portion of the variance of the score in the figure-formatted conceptual problems. Although field dependence/field independence was significantly correlated with all the achievement scores, it did not significantly account for any scores in multiple regression analyses. However, the magnitudes of correlation coefficients among the achievement scores were higher than those between the achievement scores and cognitive variables. The best predictor for each score was also found to be one of the other achievement scores. Educational implications are discussed.

  • This study proposed the unplugged learning strategy of computer science that makes more easily to understand learning contents and to improve logical thinking of learners in elementary school. We reorganized the contents of data structure in computer science. The students write project papers from their own experiences and daily lives in the classroom, not in the computer room as applying unplugged learning methods. The result of this study shows that students can better understand computer through a study method of computer science on their step of growth. Through this study, the learners can be the abilities of organizing digital data and increasing the logical thinking, based on information education.

  • To guarantee the reliability in multicast transmission, researches providing reliability through hierarchical control tree which is independent on data channel tree are known to provide high scalability. However, the logical control tree in transport layer constructed without topology information of the corresponding network layer tree may inefficiently use the network resources because the logical control tree is not closely related to the tree topology of the network layer. A router assisted control tree mechanism presented in this paper would improve the efficiency of the link as well as it would remove the replicated data. In addition, it requires to a router a small change which examines the message type of the control tree.
