근감소증 성인의 신체 기능 분석 (A Study on the Analysis of Physical Function in Adults with Sarcopenia)

  • Purpose : This study used a sarcopenia diagnostic algorithm proposed by the Asia working group in adults over 50 to diagnose sarcopenia and analyze body function. The purpose of this study is to prepare basic data for the management and prevention of sarcopenia. Methods : We performed a diagnostic evaluation of sarcopenia in 97 adults over the age of 50 years with the cooperation of the Seongnam senior experience complex in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. As a result of the diagnostic process, 24 subjects were placed into the sarcopenia group, while 73 subjects were placed into the normal group. We measured each subject's body, performed the timed up and go test to evaluate functional mobility, and conducted a questionnaire on the pre-symptom of locomotive syndrome and locomotive syndrome. Results : There were statistically significant differences in height, weight, and skeletal muscle mass between the two groups. There was also a statistically significant difference in the timed up and go test, which confirmed the difference in functional mobility between the two groups. In addition, there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the proportion and the mean score of subjects with pre-symptom of locomotive syndrome and locomotive syndrome. In the correlation analysis, grip strength was statistically significantly correlated with height, weight, skeletal muscle mass, waist circumference, timed up and go test, pre-symptom of locomotive syndrome and locomotive syndrome. Gait speed was significantly correlated with the timed up and go test and locomotive syndrome. Appendicular skeletal muscle index was significantly correlated with height, weight, waist circumference, hip circumference, and the pre-symptom of locomotive syndrome. Conclusion : In conclusion, sarcopenia is closely related to height, weight, skeletal muscle mass and functional mobility, as well as the pre-symptom of locomotive syndrome and, locomotive syndrome. In consideration of this, the prevention and management of sarcopenia should be made accordingly.

PZT 구동기를 이용한 지렁이 이동방식의 캡슐형 내시경용 마이크로 로봇 (An Earthworm-Like Locomotive Mechanism for Capsule Endoscopes Using PZT Actuator)

  • A wireless capsule endoscope has been developed to replace the conventional endoscope. However, the commercialized capsule endoscope moves passively by peristaltic waves, which has some limitations for doctors to diagnose more thoroughly and actively. In order to solve this problem, a locomotive mechanism is proposed for wireless capsule endoscopes. Based on the tests of various actuators, a piezo actuator is selected as a micro actuator for capsule endoscope. In general, piezo actuators are known to have limited displacement with high voltage supply. In order to overcome the limitation of common piezo actuator, the impact based piezo actuator, is developed to realize long stroke up 11mm. By using the impact based piezo actuator, a prototype of an earthworm-like locomotive mechanism was developed. In addition, the proposed locomotive mechanism has engraved clamps mimicked the claw of an insect. The earthworm-like locomotive mechanism has 15 mm in diameter and 30mm under retraction stage and 41 mm under elongation stage in total length. Hollow space is allocated to comprise essential endoscope components such as a camera, a communication module, bio sensors, and a battery. For the feasibility test of proposed locomotive mechanism, a series of experiments were carried out including in-vitro tests. Based on results of the experiments, we conclude that the proposed locomotive mechanism is effective to be used for micro capsule endoscopes.

  • New locomotives 8100 & series 8200, based on the BR152 of German railway are suitable for heavy-duty freight traffic as well as for passenger transport. This electric locomotive had applied by trial petition way and 57 car is operating in mainline and industrial line until now. As matter of fact, this has a purpose to help designing and manufacturing the new electric locomotive in these day when almost all the line is changing into the electric fire line. This thesis has a purpose to check whether the actual simulation value properly apply and meet the designing value, comparing the result of the simulation for the performance of developed locomotive with the result of the type test which can be proceed in actual locomotive in korea (evaluating both the design value and the performance of the real locomotive).

캠버를 고려한 디젤기관차 차체 피로수명평가 (Fatigue Life Evaluation of Diesel Locomotive Car body Considering Camber Effect)

  • Camber with positive deflection is one of the very important design parameters in the manufacture of railway coach. Positive camber is defined as concave shape such as an arch and it increases the strength of structure remarkably. But during the operation of a structure, the positive camber turns into negative camber and it loses the strength of structure. Therefore we should consider the camber effect when we evaluate the fatigue strength of negative cambered structure. For this purpose, we made a model of negative cambered locomotive car body and performed structural analysis and also we measured the dynamic loads at critical points during commercial line operation. Fatigue strength of locomotive was calculated by applying Miner's damage accumulation rule. Fatigue strength of the two locomotives which have different camber were compared to find out the effect of camber on dynamic load amplitude. We found that the more negative camber a locomotive had, the shorter fatigue strength obtained.

  • The deterioration of a shunting locomotive was characterized for the lifetime assessment. The locomotive has been used for shunting works in steel making processes, and in this investigation, various types of technical evaluation methods for the locomotive parts were employed to assess the current deterioration status and to provide important clue for lifetime prediction. Unlike other rolling stocks in railway applications, the diesel shunting locomotive is composed of major components such as diesel engine, transmission, gear box, brake system, electronic devices, etc. In this paper, the degree of deterioration in a diesel engine and power transmission parts has been presented based on the analysis results.

국내 노인의 근감소증과 운동기능저하증후군에 대한 분석 연구 (Analysis of the Correlation Between Sarcopenia and Locomotive Syndrome in the Elderly in Korea)

  • Purpose : This study was conducted to assess the status of sarcopenia and locomotive syndrome in the Korean elderly population over 65 years of age by applying the recently updated screening tool for diagnostic evaluation of sarcopenia and locomotive syndrome. Methods : Sarcopenia and locomotive syndrome (LS) were diagnosed and evaluated in 210 Korean elderly people over 65 years of age. There were 36 patients in the "sarcopenia group", 164 in the "locomotive syndrome group", and 10 in the "normal group". The collected data were analyzed using the chi-square and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Results : The diagnostic evaluation of sarcopenia and LS showed the presence of sarcopenia in 9.05 % of males and 8.10% females among the Korean elderly population over 65 years of age. Prevalence of stage 1 locomotive syndrome (LS 1) was 95.24 %; stage 2, (LS 2) 36.19 %; and stage 3 (LS 3), 16.19 % among the study population. Both the sarcopenia diagnostic indicator and the LS evaluation indicators showed significant differences between the three groups. All the subjects in the sarcopenia group had LS; further, on comparison of the detailed composition ratio of each patient with LS, the prevalence of LS in the sarcopenia group was found to be: LS 1 41.67 %, LS 2 41.67 %, and LS 3 16.67 %, whereas in the LS group, it was found to be: LS 1 66.46 %, LS 2 16.46 %, and LS 3 17.07 %. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant. Conclusion : It was confirmed that sarcopenia is correlated with LS incidence. This suggests that the evaluation of motor LS can be used as a tool for the early diagnosis and prevention of sarcopenia in cases of functional decline due to aging in the elderly population.

경의선 장단역 증기기관차 이전지 기념공간 설계 (Memorial Design for Relocation Site of Steam Locomotive in Jangdan Station on Kyong-Eui Railway)

  • 경의선 철도는 부산과 신의주를 오가던 한반도의 주요 종단 철도로서 한반도 물류, 교통의 중심이었으며, 동시에 분단국가의 하나됨을 염원하는 상징적 의미를 지니고 있다. 경의선 장단역에 멈춰선 증기기관차는 한국전쟁 당시 피폭되었다. 이 기관차는 녹슨 채 반세기 넘게 비무장지대 안에 방치되어 있었으며, 남북분단의 역사적 상징물이다. 본 연구는 등록문화재 제78호인 '경의선 장단역 증기기관차'의 이전에 따라 역사적 관점, 기념공원으로서의 역할 그리고 지역문화 관광적 측면에서 접근하였다. 설계의 주안점은 기본적으로 증기기관차라는 문화재의 정체성을 대변하는 3가지 이슈를 가지고 접근하였다. 첫째, 독개다리 지역은 경의선 상에 배치되는 장점을 가지고 있으나, 부지가 협소하여 기존 지형을 이용한 경사로와 계단 등을 설치하여 일정한 보행환경을 유지하였다. 둘째, 수직적 관람데크를 설치하여 전시물을 다양한 방식으로 관람하도록 하였으며, 관람공간은 관람객의 안전과 문화재의 보호를 고려하였다. 셋째, 증기기관차가 원래 있던 지역적 특성을 고려하여 기관차 내에 자생하던 뽕나무를 이식하였으며, 전시공간 주변으로는 통풍을 위해 초화류를 식재하여 문화재에 영향을 미치지 않도록 하였다.

철도차량 운전실의 작업환경 개선을 위한 요건관리 및 시험평가 방안에 관한 연구 (On the Development of Requirements and Test and Evaluation Procedure for Improving the Work Environment of Locomotive Cabs)

  • Recent trends in rail industry can be characterized by the multifunctionality and very high-speed modes of operations. In particular, the adoption of the unmaned or operatorless operations has been getting increased attention in which case ensuring systems safety is crucial. On the other hand, according to the result of analyzing rail accidents, the human/operator errors have turned out to be one of the key causes of the accidents. Therefore, the effort of improving the work environment of locomotive cabs is quite necessary in order to decrease the accidents. The objective of this paper is studying on how to incorporate the factors related to the train operators in the design of the locomotive cabs and also on how to evaluate the design results obtained, which is subsequently reflected in the generation of the test and evaluation procedure. The approach taken is based on systems engineering, yielding the procedure document as a result. The results obtained in the paper can be useful in confirming the design of locomotive cabs utilizing the domestic human/operator measure. Also, the way of achieving the objectives can be utilized to cover the expanded rail systems development with appropriate design activities added.

전기기관차(8200호대) 신규 보조전원장치 적용 시 MVB 통신프로토콜 중 고장코드에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Failure code of the MVB Protocol when the Electric locomotive(8200 series) New Auxiliary Power Supply is applied)

  • 현재 운용되고 있는 전기기관차(8200호대) 전장품의 부분적 국산화를 위해서는 전기기관차내의 장치간 MVB 통신프로토콜에 대한 분석이 우선 진행되어야 한다. 그 중에서도 신규 개발된 보조전원장치가 적용되었을 때 우려되는 사항인 고장발생 시 동작에 대한 분석이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 분석된 통신프로토콜을 적용한 신규 개발 통신제어장치를 통해 신규 보조전원장치를 기존 전기기관차에 적용하였을 때 정상동작 뿐만 아니라 고장발생 시 동작에도 문제없이 작동하도록 고장코드에 대한 MVB 통신프로토콜을 분석하였다.
