Location-aware networks are of great importance for both civil lives and military applications. Methods based on line-of-sight (LOS) measurements suffer sever performance loss in harsh environments such as indoor scenarios, where sensors can receive both LOS and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) measurements. In this paper, we propose a data association (DA) process based on the expectation maximization (EM) algorithm, which enables us to exploit multipath components (MPCs). By setting the mapping relationship between the measurements and scatters as a latent variable, coefficients of the Gaussian mixture model are estimated. Moreover, considering the misalignment of sensor position, we propose a space-alternating generalized expectation maximization (SAGE)-based algorithms to jointly update the target localization and sensor position information. A two dimensional (2-D) circularly symmetric Gaussian distribution is employed to approximate the probability density function of the sensor's position uncertainty via the minimization of the Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD), which enables us to calculate the expectation step with low computational complexity. Moreover, a distributed implementation is derived based on the average consensus method to improve the scalability of the proposed algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed centralized and distributed algorithms can perform close to the Monte Carlo-based method with much lower communication overhead and computational complexity.
Purpose: The therapeutic process has various benefits since it relives most of the stresses that people are undergoing in their various working places. Thus this study will determine this process's impact on workers in their different working places. Most of the workers that are being affected by stress and use this technique are the nurses. Research design, data and methodology: The present research conducted the PRISMA process which are important in research as it provides information that individual studies cannot. Guided by a specific research question, systematic reviews collate empirical evidence that fits particular criteria to provide a summary of available evidence. Results: The findings of all fifteen investigations were reviewed, but those with the strongest evidence were given more weight. Observers should be aware that the findings on aromatherapy approaches for nurses and patients are so uniform that advice might apply to both in a high acuity workplace. Conclusions: This research concludes that with the exception of a few rare exceptions, aromatherapy is a very efficient and safe treatment that does not build up in the body, but instead is expelled via the lungs, liver and kidneys. Non-invasive aromatherapy immediately affects the brain, and anyone may give the treatment at any time or place, regardless of the location.

NFV realizes flexible and rapid software deployment and management of network functions in the cloud network, and provides network services in the form of chained virtual network functions (VNFs). However, using VNFs to provide quality guaranteed services is still a challenge because of the inherent difficulty in intelligently scaling VNFs to handle traffic fluctuations. Most existing works scale VNFs with fixed-capacity instances, that is they take instances of the same size and determine a suitable deployment location without considering the cloud network resource distribution. This paper proposes a traffic forecasted assisted proactive VNF scaling approach, and it adopts the instance capacity adaptive to the node resource. We first model the VNF scaling as integer quadratic programming and then propose a proactive adaptive VNF scaling (PAVS) approach. The approach employs an efficient traffic forecasting method based on LSTM to predict the upcoming traffic demands. With the obtained traffic demands, we design a resource-aware new VNF instance deployment algorithm to scale out under-provisioning VNFs and a redundant VNF instance management mechanism to scale in over-provisioning VNFs. Trace-driven simulation demonstrates that our proposed approach can respond to traffic fluctuation in advance and reduce the total cost significantly.
Due to the rapid development in mobile communication technologies, the usage of mobile devices such as cellular phones and PDAs becomes increasingly popular. One of the best ways to maximize the usability of mobile devices is to make them aware of their current locations and the locations of other fixed and mobile objects. In this paper, we propose a cost-effective Bus Information System, ACE-BIS, which utilizes a mobile device to retrieve the bus routes to reach a destination from the current location. To accomplish this task, ACE-BIS maintains a small amount of information on bus stops and bus routes in a mobile device and runs a heuristic routing algorithm based on such information. When a user asks more accurate route information or calls for a 'leave later query', ACE-BIS entrusts the task to a server into which real-time traffic and bus location information is being collected. By separating the roles into a mobile device and a server, ACE-BIS is able to provide bus routes at the lowest cost for wireless communications, without imposing much burden to a server. The results of extensive experiments revealed that ACE-BIS is effective and scalable in most experimental settings.

Localization is the most important feature in the sensor network environment because it is a basic element enabling people and things to aware the circumference environment. Existing localization methods can be categorized as either range-based or range-free. While range-based is known to be not suitable because of the irregularity of radio propagation and the additional device requirement. range-free is much appropriated for the resource constrained sensor network because it can actively locate by means of the communication radio. But its location accuracy is just depended on the density of circumference nodes; it is very low in low-density sensor network environment. This paper proposes a mobile object tracking method, named DRTS(Distributed Range-hybrid Tracking Scheme), with combining range-based and range-free. It is optimally making use of the location, communication range, and received signal strength from circumference nodes. Especially, it can greatly improve the mobile tracking accuracy by adapting a new prediction method, named EGP(Estimative Gird Points) into the proposed location estimation method. The simulation results show that our method outperforms the other localization and tracking methods in the tracking accuracy point of view.

An anatomic radiolucency called medial sigmoid depression can be observed on a number of panoramic and mandibular oblique lateral views in the ramus just below and anterior to the mandibular sigmoid notch. The radiolucency may be unilateral or bilateral. Seventy-eight mandibles of dry skulls were visually examined and radiographed by panoramic machine. The observable incidence, the location center, and the mean size of the medial sigmoid depression were studied. Additionally, the radiographic incidence of the depression was determined using 500 panoramic radiographs. Normal anatomic radiolucent areas in the jaws are encountered often in the radiographs taken for the usual dental practice purpose. Some of these radiolucencies can be misdiagnosed as pathologic entities. But in most cases, the size, location, and appearance of the radiolucent area, and the presence or absence of symptoms can lead one to the correct diagnosis before surgery is undertaken. And this can be secured if diagnosticians are aware of the common and varied appearances of the normal anatomic radiolucencies A depression in the ramus just below and slightly anterior to the most inferior aspect of mandibular sigmoid notch shows occasionally foramen-like or notch-like radiolucency on some panoramic and oblique lateral views. This radiolucency was named medial sigmoid depression by Langlais et a1. in 1983. Since there're no reports about this medial sigmoid depression after that, (The author retrieved the Mediline from 1983 to 1990: Cambridge scientific abstracts, (7200 Wisconsin Ave Bethesda MD 20814 U.S.A.) National Library of Medicine) the author studied the size and the location of the depression of the mandible specimens, and determined the relationship between the observable anatomic incidence and its reproducibility on the radiographs.

The speed of vehicles has remained a significant factor that influences the severity of accidents and traffic accident rate in many parts of the world including South Korea. This behavior where drivers drive at speeds which exceed a posted safe threshold is known as 'speeding'. Over the past twenty years, the Korean National Police Agency (NPA) has become aware of an increased frequency of drivers who are speeding. Therefore, fixed-type ASE systems [1] have been installed on hazardous road sections of many highways. These system monitor vehicle speeds using a camera. However, the use of ASE systems has changed the behavior of the drivers. Specifically, drivers reduce speed or avoid the route where the cameras are mounted. It is not practical to install cameras at every possible location. Therefore, it is challenging to thoroughly explore the location where speeding occurs. In view of these problems, the author of this paper designed and implemented a prototype visualization system in which point and color are used to show vehicle location and associated over-speed information. All of this information was used to create a comprehensive visualization application to show information about vehicle driving. In this paper, we present an approach detecting vehicles moving at speeds which exceed a threshold and visualizing the points those violations occur on a map. This was done using vehicle trajectory data collected in Daegu city. We propose steps for exploring the data collected from those sensors. The resulting mapping has two layers. The first layer contains the dynamic vehicle trajectory data. The second underlying layer contains the static road networks. This allows comparing the speed of vehicles on roads with the known maximum safe speed of those roads, and presents the results with a visualization tool. We also compared data about people who drive over threshold safe speeds on each road on days and weekends based on vehicle trajectories. Finally, our study suggests improved times and locations where law enforcement should use monitoring with speed cameras, and where they should be stricter with traffic law enforcement. We learned that people will drive over the speed limit at midnight more than 1.9 times as often when compared with rush hour traffic at 8 o'clock in the morning, and 4.5 times as often when compared with traffic at 7 o'clock in the evening. Our study can benefit the government by helping them select better locations for installation of speed cameras. This would ultimately reduce police labor in traffic speed enforcement, and also has the potential to improve traffic safety in Daegu city.

In this study, we analyzed the teaching practices of science teachers using smart technologies and investigated their difficulties in implementing smart education and their educational needs. We also studied their opinions on the application of smart technologies in science education. The participants were seven science teachers who participated in the smart education study group of a science teacher association in Seoul. We elaborated on the characteristics of smart education in science education during comprehensive analyses of instructional materials used in science classes and the initial interviews. We then analyzed the second interviews by categorizing their responses inductively. All the science teachers used the 'instant access as needed', but their interactions, simply answering students' questions, were found to be at a low level. They did not effectively use the 'collaborative interaction with SNS or wiki-based service' for the support for interactive learning. While most collected learning results of their students and provided feedback in the aspect of 'individualization according to leaner level', they were not aware of 'context, situation, and location of learners' in smart education. While all the teachers extended learning opportunities by using learning resources widely in smart education, most were not aware of 'support for self-directed learning'. Most teachers believed that smart education should be developed to help students learn interactively and in a self-directed manner. They also provided many opinions on teacher training programs and environmental support for smart education. Based on the results, some considerations for implementing smart education in science instructions effectively are discussed.

The explosive growth of information has been difficult for users to get an appropriate information in time. The various ways of new services to solve problems has been provided. As customized service is being magnified, the personalized recommendation system has been important issue. Collaborative filtering system in the recommendation system is widely used, and it is the most successful process in the recommendation system. As the recommendation is based on customers' profile, there can be sparsity and cold-start problems. In this paper, we propose personalized movie recommendation system using collaborative filtering techniques and context-based techniques. The context-based technique is the recommendation method that considers user's environment in term of time, emotion and location, and it can reflect user's preferences depending on the various environments. In order to utilize the context-based technique, this paper uses the human emotion, and uses movie reviews which are effective way to identify subjective individual information. In this paper, this proposed method shows outperforming existing collaborative filtering methods.
As an advance in medical technology development is being made, and people are increasingly aware of the importance of health, related investments and people's average life expectancy rise, which in turn leads to an increase in elderly people. Also, with a growing number of elderly people enjoying their leisure activities, the utilization of multimedia contents using computers is on the increase, leading to an activated research into the establishment of digital culture for the elderly people. This paper proposes a Korean text input system to enable the elderly to utilize digital contents. Text input interface has conventionally depended on keyboards. However, the keyboard wherein many keys are dispersed creates problems for the elderly, such as a protracted recognition of keys and a lowered concentration when they use the keyboard. To address these problems, in this paper, the grip type controller interface for console games was used and a corresponding alphabet location algorithm was developed. To verify these efforts, a simulator was developed to test 20 elderly people; as a result, their satisfaction over and convenience of using the grip type interface increased.
