A Case of Pulmonary Hamartoma (폐과오종(肺過誤腫)의 일치험례(一治驗例))

  • Since. its first description by Albrecht in 1904 that hamartoma (Greek. meaning "error" and "tumor")is tumor-like malformation characterized by abnormal mixture of normal constituent in any organ it arises, hamartoma involving the lung has assumed the following clinical features.: 1) all the pulmonary lesions presenting as "coin lesions", it occupies about 8% according to various reports. It also constitutes the most prevalent lesion of all the benign lung tumors, appearing in 0.25% of the general population. 2) Peak incidence of the lesion occurs in the 5th and 6th decade as the carcinoma patient do, and the occasional growing tendency and periperal location as in this presentation renders the differential diagnosis from the malignant disease difficult and surgical intervention inevitable for definite histological diagnosis and treatment. 3) Nearly all the clinical investigations such as history, physical exam, bronchoscopy, culture, and cytological exam of sputum sre likely to futile:the only tool for detecting the presence of the lesion is X-ray, butthat's short of telling the true nature of it. 4) Because of its age of presentation and growing tendency in middle-aged adult, it still controversial whether it is developmental anomaly as Albrecht described, or true neoplasm denovo of fibrous connective tissue origin. This is a case report of surgical experience of pulmonary hamartoma which had nearly all the typical clinical features above mentioned and was reviewed with related literatures.

  • Location-based service (LBS) is becoming an important part of the information technology (IT) business. Localization is a core technology for LBS because LBS is based on the position of each device or user. In case of outdoor, GPS - which is used to determine the position of a moving user - is the dominant technology. As satellite signal cannot reach indoor, GPS cannot be used in indoor environment. Therefore, research and study about indoor localization technology, which has the same accuracy as an outdoor GPS, is needed for "seamless LBS". For indoor localization, we consider the IEEE802.11 WLAN environment. Generally, received signal strength indicator (RSSI) is used to obtain a specific position of the user under the WLAN environment. RSSI has a characteristic that is decreased over distance. To use RSSI at indoor localization, a mathematical model of RSSI, which reflects its characteristic, is used. However, this RSSI of the mathematical model is different from a real RSSI, which, in reality, has a sensitive parameter that is much affected by the propagation environment. This difference causes the occurrence of localization error. Thus, it is necessary to set a proper RSSI model in order to obtain an accurate localization result. We propose a method in which the parameters of the propagation environment are determined using only RSSI measurements obtained during localization.

A System to Recognize Position of Moving Vehicle based on Images (영상을 이용한 차량의 주행 위치 측정 시스템)

  • The GPS technique widely used recently in car navigation system has two problems that are unavailability in urban canyons and inherent positional error rate. The one has been studied and solved in many literatures. However, the other still leads to incorrect locational information in some area, especially parallel roads. This paper proposes and implements a system to recognize lane of moving vehicle based on images obtained from in-vehicle networks or other devices. The proposed system utilizes a real-time image matching algorithm which determines the direction of moving vehicle in parallel section of road. It also employs a method for accuracy improvement. The results obtained from experimental test on real-time navigation show that the proposed systems works well and the accuracy increases.

A Study on the Prediction of the Loaded Location of the Composite Laminated Shell by Using Neural Networks (신경회로망을 이용한 복합재료 원통쉘의 하중특성 추론에 관한 연구)

  • After impact analysis of the composite cylindrical shells was performed. obtained outputs at 9 equally divided points of the shell were used as input patterns of the neural networks. Identification of impact loading characteristics was predicted simultaneously. Momentum backpropagation algorithm of neural networks which can modify the momentum coefficient and learning rate was developed and applied to identify the loading characteristics. Hidden layers of the backpropagation increased from 1 layer to 3 layers and trained the loading characteristics. Developed program with variable learning rate was converged close to real load characteristics under 1% error. Inverse engineering which identify the impact loading characteristics can be applicable to the composite laminated cylindrical shells with developed neural networks.

  • In this paper, we develop a design methodology of Granular-based Radial Basis Function Neural Networks(GRBFNN) by context-based clustering. In contrast with the plethora of existing approaches, here we promote a development strategy in which a topology of the network is predominantly based upon a collection of information granules formed on a basis of available experimental data. The output space is granulated making use of the K-Means clustering while the input space is clustered with the aid of a so-called context-based fuzzy clustering. The number of information granules produced for each context is adjusted so that we satisfy a certain reconstructability criterion that helps us minimize an error between the original data and the ones resulting from their reconstruction involving prototypes of the clusters and the corresponding membership values. In contrast to "standard" Radial Basis Function neural networks, the output neuron of the network exhibits a certain functional nature as its connections are realized as local linear whose location is determined by the values of the context and the prototypes in the input space. The other parameters of these local functions are subject to further parametric optimization. Numeric examples involve some low dimensional synthetic data and selected data coming from the Machine Learning repository.

  • 본 논문은 Shannon의 정리에 따른 채널 용량에 근접한 성능을 보이는 것으로 알려진 터보 복호기 기반의 반복적인 검출과 복호화(Iterative Detection and Decoding) 기법에서 반복적인 복호화를 수행할 시에 제외되었던 리스트 구 복호기(List Sphere Decoder)에서 사전 정보(prior information)을 이용할 수 있도록 하여 수정된 IDD 기법을 제안하였다. 기존의 기법에서는 사후확률(A posteriori probability)을 계산하기 위하여 리스트 구 복호기를 사용하였으나 반복적인 복호화 수행 시에는 사전 정보를 이용하지 않는 특성으로 인하여 제외된다. 만약 잡음(noise) 등의 이유로 검출된 심볼 벡터 목록이 원래의 것과 매우 다른 경우라도 재 검출을 하지 않기 때문에 반복적인 복호화를 수행하더라도 원래의 정보에 근접하기 어렵게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기존의 기법에서 리스트 구 복호기를 터보 복호기의 Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR) 값을 사전 정보로 이용할 수 있도록 수정된 리스트 구 복호기를 제안하였다. 수정된 리스트 복호기는 반복적인 복호화를 수행 시 이전의 복호화에서 얻은 정보를 이용하여 새로이 검출된 심볼 벡터 목록을 제공하게 된다. 실제의 통신환경과 유사한 모델의 실험을 통해 수정된 IDD 기법이 기존의 IDD로 구성되는 내부 피드백에 RS 복호기 기반의 외부 피드백으로 구성된 형태로 피드백 회수가 증가할수록 기존의 IDD에 비해 성능이 개선됨을 확인하였다.

  • The periodic inspection of piping and pressure vessels welds in nuclear power plant has to provide reliable result related to weld flaws, such as location, maximum amplitude response, ultrasonic length, height and finally the nature or flaw pattern. The founded flaw in ultrasonic inspection is accepted or rejected based on these data. Specially, the amplitude of flaw response is used as basic parameter for flaw sizing and it may cause some deviation in length sizing result. Currently the ultrasonic inspections in nuclear power plant components are performed by specific inspection procedure which describing inspection technique include inspection system, calibration methodology and flaw characterizing. To perform ultrasonic inspection during in-service inspection, reference gain should be established before starting ultrasonic inspection by the requirement of ASME code. This reference gain used as basic criteria to evaluate flaw sizing. Sometimes, a little difference in establishing reference gain between calibration and field condition can lead to deviation in flaw sizing. Due to this difference, the inspection result may cause flaw sizing error. Therefore, the objective of this study is to compare and evaluate the ultrasonic amplitude difference between air filled and water filled pipe in nuclear power plant. Additionally, the accuracy of flaw sizing is estimated by comparing both conditions.

Generation of lsoresponse Time Regions in Visual Tasks (시각작업시 등반응시간영역의 생성)

  • Successful completion of a visual task in a predetermined time is very crucial to many operations such as piloting an aircraft. Although existing ergonomic interface models often provide a function of vision tests, it determines only the visibility at any given location. To complement this problem in existing models, the isoresponse time region considering the factors related to visual tasks is presented. Using a multiple regression model, equal response time regions were obtained within which mean response time is expected to be the same and is asymmetrical in shape. Among the factors considered, expectancy significantly decreased response time, and when cued, the effects of field heterogeneity, target uncertainty, density, size contrast and peripheral position on search time were less significant than those in unexpected cases. Response time and error rate, gender and visual acuity were not significantly correlated, and response time and age was positively correlated. These results are expected to be directly applicable to designing various visual tasks in real-life situations.

A Study on the Gustafson-Kessel Clustering Algorithm in Power System Fault Identification

  • This paper presents an approach of the Gustafson-Kessel (GK) clustering algorithm's performance in fault identification on power transmission lines. The clustering algorithm is incorporated in a scheme that uses hybrid intelligent technique to combine artificial neural network and a fuzzy inference system, known as adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The scheme is used to identify the type of fault that occurs on a power transmission line, either single line to ground, double line, double line to ground or three phase. The scheme is also capable an analyzing the fault location without information on line parameters. The range of error estimation is within 0.10 to 0.85 relative to five values of fault resistances. This paper also presents the performance of the GK clustering algorithm compared to fuzzy clustering means (FCM), which is particularly implemented in structuring a data. Results show that the GK algorithm may be implemented in fault identification on power system transmission and performs better than FCM.

  • This paper analyzes efficiency of photovoltaic(PV) tracking system using position solar algorithm(PSA). Solar location tracking system is needed for efficiently and intensively using PV system independent of environmental condition. PV tracking system of program method is presented a high tracking accuracy without the wrong operating in rapidly changing insolation by the clouds and atmospheric condition. Therefore, this paper analyzes efficiency of PV system using PSA algorithm for more correct position tracking of solar. Also, controlled altitude angle and azimuth angle by applied algorithm is compared with data of korea astronomy observatory. And this paper analyzes the tracking error and generation efficiency then proves the validity of applied algorithm.
