기업가의 창업위치선택과 클러스터의 성장동력: 바이오벤처의 창업을 중심으로 (Location Decisions of Startups and Dynamics of Cluster Growth)

  • 본 논문은 벤처기업가의 창업위치결정에 대한 분석을 통해 기업집적의 전략적도구로 인정되는 클러스터의 성장 동력을 체계적으로 분석했다. 한 기업가의 창업위치 결정은 '전략적 사안'으로서, 다음의 세 가지 동력의 상호작용에 의해 작동함을 도출하였다. 그 세가지 동력은 창업위치에 본질적으로 담겨진 효용과 비용의 편차, 신규 진입기업의 연구개발 역량, 클러스터에 이미 진입해 있는 기존기업의 연구개발 역량 등이다. 본 논문은 신생기업의 입장이 클러스터에 진입하는 것에 존재하는 긍정적인 면과 부정적인 면을 제안하면서 연구가설을 도출하였다. 그 긍정적인 면은 기존기업의 지식 스필오버에 의한 지식학습 효과이며, 부정적인 면은 지식뺏김 효과이다. 이 양 측면에 대한 전략적 결정에 의해 창업위치가 결정되고, 거시적으로는 클러스터의 성장 여부가 결정됨을 가설로 설정했다. 한국 바이오 벤처기업 710개를 실증대상으로 선정해서, 앞서 설정한 논리에서 도출된 연구가설들을 검증하였다. 실증분석에서 발견은, 조직유산과 클러스터의 경쟁상황에 의해 비용과 효과가 달라진다는 점, 그리고 클러스터에서 작동하는 협력규범의 존재 등에 의해 신생기업이 클러스터에서 창업하게 됨을 발견하였다. 결론적으로 신생기업에게 전달되는 지식 스필오버 효과가 클 때 기업집적 효과가 증가하며, 클러스터가 성장하게 됨을 확인하였다.

College Students' Housing Values, Expectations and Considerations for Housing in Their 20s - Centered on Chungbuk Province -

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate Korean college students' housing values and housing expectations as well as considerations for housing in their 20s and to explore influences on housing values and expectations. Items related to four housing functions were developed in conjunction with Maslow's hierarchy of human needs to measure housing values. An on-site questionnaire survey was administered to students of a university-A located in Chungbuk province between May 28, 2012, and June 17, 2012. Among the total 476 responses, 465 responses from Korean students were used for further data analyses. The findings are as follows: (1) Among housing functions, those related to shelter functions were perceived as most important followed by function as a place for self-esteem. (2) More than 70 percent of the respondents expected to rent a housing unit in their 20s and more than half of the respondents expected non-traditional and relatively affordable compact size structure types such as studio, Officetel or Gosiwon. (3) Price, location and transportation were found to be the most important considerations when choosing housing in their 20s. (4) Convenience in use of public transportation and commute time were found to be the most important in location choice, and maintenance conditions and security systems were the most important for building choice. (5) Female respondents tended to consider personal safety, security systems, neighborhood facilities, and distance from family more important than male respondents when choosing housing, while male respondents considered parking space more important than females.

Congestion Management in Deregulated Power System by Optimal Choice and Allocation of FACTS Controllers Using Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm

  • Congestion management is one of the technical challenges in power system deregulation. This paper presents single objective and multi-objective optimization approaches for optimal choice, location and size of Static Var Compensators (SVC) and Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitors (TCSC) in deregulated power system to improve branch loading (minimize congestion), improve voltage stability and reduce line losses. Though FACTS controllers offer many advantages, their installation cost is very high. Hence Independent System Operator (ISO) has to locate them optimally to satisfy a desired objective. This paper presents optimal location of FACTS controllers considering branch loading (BL), voltage stability (VS) and loss minimization (LM) as objectives at once using GA. It is observed that the locations that are most favorable with respect to one objective are not suitable locations with respect to other two objectives. Later these competing objectives are optimized simultaneously considering two and three objectives at a time using multi-objective Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithms (SPEA). The developed algorithms are tested on IEEE 30 bus system. Various cases like i) uniform line loading ii) line outage iii) bilateral and multilateral transactions between source and sink nodes have been considered to create congestion in the system. The developed algorithms show effective locations for all the cases considered for both single and multiobjective optimization studies.

중국 국유기업과 민간기업 간 해외직접투자 입지 차이 분석: 현지국 요인의 영향을 중심으로 (The Differences in the Selection of Outward FDI Locations between State- and Privately Owned Enterprises of China: Focusing on the Effects of Host Country Factors)

  • In recent years, Chinese firms have explosively increased outward foreign direct investment (oFDI). While state-owned enterprises (SOEs) are still dominant in Chinese oFDI, privately-owned enterprises (POEs) are also accelerating their internationalization. These two types of Chinese firms differ in their behavior regarding oFDI. The objective of this paper is to analyze the differences in the choice of oFDI locations between Chinese SOEs and POEs by considering host country factors. By integrating the literature on Chinese firms' oFDI and on FDI locations, we developed six hypotheses concerning how host country factors affect their choice of location. We tested our hypotheses by conducting multiple regression analysis with recent secondary data on 413 Chinese MNEs in 88 countries between 2005 and 2016. The results of the test show that in selecting oFDI locations, Chinese SOEs invest relatively more in countries with richer natural resources, more abundant strategic assets, less production efficiency, higher political risk, and lower institutional quality compared with Chinese POEs. It is our hope that the empirical results of this paper will contribute to research on Chinese oFDI.

서울시 거주 가구의 주거입지 변화 패턴 (The Patterns of Residential Changes among Households in the City of Seoul)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze Phenomenon of the residential movement and important factors in the city of Seoul. First, The patterns of residential location during 1975-1994 in terms of macro aspects are to be investigated. Second, Residential patterns among households based on the literature survey data in terms of micro aspects are to be indentified. Methodology applied to the study is regression analysis using 1975-1994statistical data and content analysis based on the literature survey. The results of this study are as follows : 1) The factors of residential movement in the city of Seoul are explained by the changes of the economic structure, residential environment, individual characteristics, and housing policy. That is. the development of transportation systems, the number of homeownership scheme holders, crime rates, increase of residential areas effect on the decrease of the population in the city center of Seoul 2) According to the income groups and resident characteristics, Residential location patterns are different in residential location choice and the scope of spatial migration.

The Evaluation of Location Competitiveness for International Logistics Center: Case of Northeast Asia

  • The expansion on the scale of international trade and rapid economic growth in Northeast Asia have caused intense competition among global companies for securing international logistics center in Northeast Asia. Analyzing location competitiveness for international logistics center in Northeast Asia, this paper aims to extract implications for enhancing locational competitiveness. Employing the relative importance among location selection factors extracted from AHP analysis in prior study, we evaluated the major five port-cities in Northeast Asia including Busan, Gwangyang, Shanghai, Qingdao and Tokyo. In the evaluations, Shanghai (3.926) ranked as the first, followed by Busan (3.859), Qingdao (3.555), Tokyo (3.013) and Gwangyang (2.915). Furthermore, the causal relationships between determinants for location choice decision (logistics factor, cost factor, market factor, service factor and environmental factor) and dependent variables (competitiveness of international logistics center, potentiality to growth, present intention to move into and future plan to move into) were analyzed to provide implications. Results provide useful insights for further improvements, and helps strategic agenda for future development of port-cities.

결혼이주여성의 거주 분포와 민족적 배경에 관한 소고 : 베트남.필리핀을 중심으로 (The Study for the Spatial Distribution and Ethnic Background of Female Marriage Immigrants in Korea)

  • 결혼이주자는 외국인 근로자나 유학생보다 지역사회에 미치는 영향이 크고 그 영향은 결혼이주자들의 자녀로 인해 계속 증가하게 될 것이므로 중요한 지역연구 대상이다. 그러므로 본 연구는 결혼이주자들의 차별적인 거주지 형성을 가져오는 근본적인 원인을 알아보고자 한다. 외국인 근로자나 유학생의 경우 처음에는 주거지 선택과정이 외생적 비자발적으로 이루어졌을지라도 점차 이주의 시간이 흐름에 따라 자생적 자발적으로 거주지 선택하는 방향으로 변화하는 반면에, 결혼이주자들의 주거지 분리과정은 자발적인 선택이 거의 어려운 상황에서 이주할 뿐만 아니라 이주 후에도 주거지 변동 혹은 선택이 자유롭지 못한 것이 특징이다. 그러므로 결혼이주자들의 차별적 주거지 분리패턴에 영향을 주는 요인들을 지역사회가 선택한 결혼이주자들의 민족적 배경과 관련지어 설명하고자 한다. 국적별 결혼 이주자의 주거지 분포 경향과 분리정도를 고찰한 후 베트남계와 필리핀계 결혼이주여성의 분포패턴을 중심으로 그 민족적 배경과 집중 분포지역의 관계를 알아보고자 한다.

에어 택시 이용률 최대화를 위한 수직이착륙장 위치 결정 문제 (Vertiport Location Problem to Maximize Utilization Rate for Air Taxi)

  • 본 논문에서는 도시 내 교통 혼잡 문제를 해결하기 위한 새로운 혁신 기술 중 하나인 에어 택시 운영에 관한 연구를 다룬다. 성공적인 기술 도입과 합리적인 운영을 위해 초기에 고려해야 할 문제 중 하나인 수직이착륙장(vertiport) 위치 결정 문제를 다룬다. 교통수단 이용에 따른 비용과 이동시간을 고려하여 각 경로에서의 교통수단 예측 수요 확률을 이산 선택 모형을 활용하여 구하고, 이를 반영하여 에어 택시 이용률의 최대화를 목적으로 하는 수리적 모형을 제안한다. 본 수리적 모형은 NP-난해(NP-hard) 문제로, 위치 결정 문제를 해결하기 위한 효과적이면서 효율적인 문제 해결방법론이 필요하다. 단순히 최적화 모형을 제안한 기존 연구와 달리 본 연구에서는 교차-엔트로피 알고리즘(cross-entropy algorithm)을 활용한 문제 해결 방법론을 제안하고, 수치 실험을 통해 알고리즘의 효과성과 효율성을 확인한다. 문제 해결 방법론의 학술적 우수성 외에도, 실제 데이터 및 에어 택시 활용 계획을 고려한 의사결정의 제시는 실무적인 활용 가능성을 높일 수 있음을 시사한다.

Analysis on Preceding Study of Consumer's Store-Choice Model: Focusing on Commercial Sphere Analysis Theories

  • Purpose - There are numerous theories for retail trade area analysis which are designed to select candidate locations for new stores. In this study, comparative analysis on the characteristics from those of the theories are shown, and the explanation for the power in consumers' store-choice behaviors and their limitations are examined. Also, plans for improving commercial sphere analysis are explored. Research design, data, and methodology - This study is based on literature reviews with normative research methodology. Among many researches regarding the analysis on the location and commercial sphere for launching a new store, researches relying on statistics are excluded in this study since they belong to the marketing research area,. Results - In the Law of retail gravitation, Huff's model multinomial logit model and etc. are mutual complementary mathematical techniques for analyzing commercial spheres and each of them has its own characteristics. These theories rely on the same hypothesis in which consumers are all believed to be behaving rationally under a similar behavioral system. However, the trial in explaining or estimating behavior of choosing a store with only a select size of the population that is objectively estimated by some major properties has limits in its credibility. Conclusion - Research on consumer's spatial behaviors can be fully illustrative and explainable when it has both quantitative approaches such as 'law of retail gravitation', 'logit model' and etc., and qualitative approaches like consumer's 'cognitive structure', 'learning status', 'image formation', 'attitude' and etc.

소비자 특성에 따라 선호되는 의류 점포의 비주얼 환경 요소 및 점포 유형 -점포 선택 기준에 의한 소비자 유형화를 기초로- (The Visual Environment Factors of the Store and the Store Types Preferred by Consumer Traits - Based on the Consumer Segmentation by Store Choice Criteria -)

  • The visual environment of the store is a very important factor to attract consumers into the store and make consumers purchase products. Therefore retailers should have concerns about store environments to differentiate their stores from other stores. Thus this study focused on visual environment of the store influencing consumer behavior. The concrete purpose of this study was to identify preferences of store environments and store types by consumer traits. First, the store choice criteria factors were examined and through the cluster analysis, several consumer groups were constructed. And then the visual environment factors of the store that consumers perceived important were identified and the visual environment factors of the store preferred by consumer groups were examined. Finally, store types preferred by consumer groups were examined. The findings of this study can assist store designers and retailers to set up a store environment or visual marketing strategies.
