The purposes of this study is to identify a proper spot to create a symbolic place for the International Jazz Festival and to improve the connections among the place assets of Gapyeong as a place marketing strategies. To this end, the analysis and interpretation of spatial structure was conducted using space syntax. The results of the study showed that the entire structure of the space formed in the axis of a total of 200. The value of total integration was 0.833, which is relatively low, and the local integration degree was 1.588 degrees. Gahwa Street has the highest value of full integration (1.264) among the major points related with the Festival, followed by the former Gapeyong Station area (1.189). As a result, the former Gapeyong station area was identified as a recommendable place for symbolic place because it is highly accessible to the surrounding areas and spacious enough to function as a plaza. Developing a cultural street occupied by jazz cafes, concerts, shops and restaurants, and transforming the old railroad into a linear park will enhance the image of jazz city and help place marketing.

This Study includes the information of integrated discussion and economies of scale on local governments' sewerage treatment plant through translog function based on the reality reports of sewerage treatment plant operation published by Ministry of Environment and sewerage statistics data from 2005 to 2010. Based on analysis results from the data of 35 local governments in Jeollanamdo and Jeollabukdo, which are selected as pilot project areas of sewerage facility integration by Ministry of Environment and have low percent of sewered population, it shows the existence of economies of scale. The economies of scale on sewerage treatment show the loss of approximately 22,211 thousand ton/day in sewage treatment, it is 1.7 times compared to the average treatment amount of 35 local governments as of 2010. It means the economies of scale can be achieved by lowering operation cost along with large scale integration in installation, operation and maintenance due to the features of sewerage industry as one of network industry.

This paper explores the influence of Arab culture on the culture of Bugis-Makassar, the two major ethnic groups in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, particularly after their Islamization in the early 17^th century. The paper argues that since then, the on-going process of Islamization in the region has also brought a continuous flow of ideas and cultural practices from Mecca to Indonesia by means of the hajj pilgrims, Arab traders, and the establishment of Islamic educational institutions that emphasized the teaching and use of Arabic language in education. These factors, among others, have facilitated a cultural inflow which enabled cultural practices borne of West Asia (Middle East) to be integrated into local customs and beliefs. The paper particularly depicts the most observable forms of Arabic cultural integration, acculturation, and assimilation into the Bugis-Makassar culture such as the use of Arabic in Islamic schools and religious sermons; the Arab-style dressing by religious scholars, teachers, and students; the wearing of the hijab (head cover) by women; and the change of people's names from local into Arabic. By utilizing the historical and anthropological approach, this paper investigates this dynamic process of adaptation and integration of a foreign culture that first came through the Islamization of a local culture, exploring the role of an Islamic missionary and educational institutions in mediating and maintaining such cultural integration processes.

Understanding 3D structure of scenes is of a great interest in various vision-related tasks. In this paper, we present a unified approach for estimating depth from a single monocular image. The key idea of our approach is to take advantages both of parametric learning and non-parametric sampling method. Using a parametric convolutional network, our approach learns the relation of various monocular cues, which make a coarse global prediction. We also leverage the local prediction to refine the global prediction. It is practically estimated in a non-parametric framework. The integration of local and global predictions is accomplished by concatenating the feature maps of the global prediction with those from local ones. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art methods both qualitatively and quantitatively.

The purposes of this study were to compare and analyze the local primary textbooks for the subject of 'We are the First Graders'. This study analyzed the common points and the differences among three textbooks developed by the three educational bureaus of Seoul, Daegu and Busan. The criterion of analysis were scope, sequence and integration of curriculum representing the principles for developing curriculum. The results were as follows: First, the scopes of topics included in 2007 National Curriculum of 'We are the First Graders' were faithfully reflected in the three local textbooks. Second, the sequences of textbooks were generally arranged according to the order of curriculum content except for some contents. As for 'Wise School Life', some contents were presented at the first unit of the three textbooks and the others were gradually expanded at the latter of the textbooks. Third, the integration of curriculum appeared meaningfully in the three textbooks. Based on these results, this study suggested some recommendations on the activites for the adaptation at the early stage in the primary school under 2009 National Curriculum.

지역브랜드의 효과적 개발과 활용을 위해서는 브랜드의 통합화가 필요하다. 그러기 위해서는 통합적 브랜드의 적절한 구축과 사용이 전제되어야 하는데 지방자치단체들의 통합적 브랜드 수준이 실제로 어떠한지 분석하였다. 본 연구는 8개도와 인구 100만 이상 도시 10개를 선정하여 브랜드의 통합화연구가 이뤄졌다. 연구결과 1개도를 제외하고는 지역 브랜드에 대한 관리가 전반적으로 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 다양한 내용을 함축할 수 있는 통합적 브랜드로서의 지역브랜드라는 측면에서 볼 때에는 더욱 미흡한 상태이다. 이를 개선하기 위해서는 여러 브랜드 이미지(요소)들의 균형적인 개발이 필요하며 거주지, 투자지, 관광지의 의미를 종합적으로 전달할 수 있는 통합적브랜드 관리전략을 도입하여 매뉴얼을 만들고 체계적으로 관리하고 활용하여야 한다.

This study was aimed to analyze the influences of urban expansion by developing a new large scale residential district on changes of whole urban spatial structure. For the analysis, time serial analysis was conducted on the Daejeon Metropolitan City by using the space syntax method. The results of the study are as follows ; First, an expansion of urban area led to lower both of the local and global integration levels, second, the spatial occupation ratio of upper 10% in the whole integration showed that old city center was separated, and moved to the Dunsan District, third, the results also showed that an integration of the old city center region maintained a high level in spite of a movement of city center and its local integration still had highest level so that the old city center will take one of the two city center roles together with Dunsan District.

본 연구는 지역사회 차원에서의 이주노동자와의 통합단계와 구체적 내용을 밝히고자 하는 목적을 지니고 있다. 연구자는 사례연구로 접근했다. 25명을 대상으로 심층면담을 수행하여 자료를 분석했다. 연구결과에 의하면 이주민들과의 통합은 상호 타자화 단계, 도구적 차원의 허용 단계, 저항과 상호 긴장 단계, 타협 단계, 상호 공존의 단계로 나타났다. 연구결과에 근거하여 사회통합 방안으로 이주민의 임파워먼트, 외국인 혐오와 인종주의 철폐를 제안했다.

The tax system in Korea is the so-called one-item-one-tax law which has separate tax law for each taxation according to tax law. The common and procedural aspects of these tax laws are the same or similar, but they are separately prescribed by the National Tax Basic Act and the Local Tax Act. These legal systems complicate the tax law and increase the cost of tax cooperation, resulting in tax inefficiency. In this study, the National Tax Act and the laws of the Local Tax Act are integrated and presented. It is proposed that the common provisions should be integrated into a single law and the unique matters should be defined in each of the National Tax Basic Act and Local Tax Basic Act, by comparing and analyzing the provisions of the National Tax Basic Act and the Local Tax Basic Act. The integration of the common elements of the National Tax Basic Act and the Local Tax Act is expected to improve tax efficiency by reducing tax complexity and tax cooperation costs. In addition, the National Tax Act and the Local Tax Act are expected to maintain the characteristics of the National Tax Basic Act and the Local Tax Act when they are specified in the National Tax Basic Act and the Local Tax Basic Act. This study is expected to be a research that can reduce tax inefficiency and help convenience of taxpayer and tax administration.
