Hierarchical Ring Extension of NUMA Systems using Snooping Protocol (스누핑 프로토콜을 사용하는 NUMA 시스템의 계층적 링 구조로의 확장)

  • NUMA 구조는 원격 메모리에 대한 접근이 불가피한 구조적 특성 때문에 상호 연결망이 성능을 좌우하는 큰 변수가 된다. 기존에 대중적으로 사용되던 버스는 물리적 확장성 및 대역폭에서 대규모 시스템을 구성하는 데 한계를 보인다. 이를 대체하는 고속의 지점간 링크를 사용한 링 구조는 버스가 가지는 확장성 및 대역폭의 한계라는 단점을 개선하였으나, 많은 클러스터가 연결되는 경우에는 전송 지연시간이 증가하는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스누핑 프로토콜이 적용된 링 구조에서 클러스터 개수 증가에 따른 지연시간 증가의 문제점을 보완하기 위해 계층적 링 구조로의 확장을 제안하고, 이 구조에 효과적인 캐쉬 일관성 프로토콜을 설계하였다. 전역 링과 지역 링을 연결하는 브리지는 캐쉬 프로토콜을 관리하며 이 프로토콜에 의해 지역 링의 부하를 줄일 수 있도록 트랜잭션을 필터링하는 역할도 담당함으로써 시스템의 성능을 향상시킨다. probability-driven 시뮬레이터를 통해 계층적 링 구조가 시스템의 성능 및 링 이용률에 미치는 영향을 알아본다. Abstract Since NUMA architecture has to access remote memory, interconnection network performance determines performance of NUMA architecture. Bus, which has been used as popular interconnection network of NUMA, has a limit to build a large-scale system because of limited physical scalability and bandwidth. Ring interconnection network, composed of high-speed point-to-point link, made up for bus's defects of scalability and bandwidth. But, it also has problem of increasing delay as the number of clusters is increased. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical expansion of snoop-based ring architecture in order to overcome ring's defects of increasing delay. And we also design an efficient cache coherence protocol adopted to this architecture. Bridge, which connects local ring and global ring, maintains cache coherence protocol and does snoop-filtering which reduces local ring and cluster bus utilization. Therefore bridge can improve performance of this system. We analyze effects of hierarchical architecture on the performance of system and utilization of point-to-point links using probability-driven simulator.

A Proposal for a Femto-Cell Local Gateway and Packet Off-Loading for Remote Shipyards (원격 조선소의 펨토셀 로컬 게이트웨이 구성과 패킷 오프로드 방식 제안)

  • In shipyard site, a ship is constructed by integrating lots of modules that are made in several sites with different capabilities and specifications. Recently, it needs to make a shipyard to be smart with wired and wireless broadband networks between hierarchical shipyards. In this paper, we propose an installation of LTE femtocell local gateway at a remote shipyard, an information exchange method between hierarchical shipyards, and an offload method to separate the general traffic. We define the mode change in a femtocell gateway for supporting the offload of the general traffic between the headquarter and a remote shipyard, the offload data management and trigger message, and cache entry fields. To show the operation of our proposed off-loading function, we consider the transcipient message flow at the femtocell gateway with its state transition diagram. Hence, it is expected to increase the productivity of shipyard industry with mobile communications and broadband Internet technologies.

  • Now that the e-commerce users are explosively increasing, there is always followed by a sharp increase in load from the e-commerce system and the heavy traffic on the network, where leads to the delayed service for the client's request. The natural consequences contain decreasing customer satisfaction and weakening the business's competitive position in markets. Therefore, we'll need to study the e-commerce system in due consideration of the operational efficiency and response speed. This study includes a design of e-commerce system, with a hierarchical structure based on the local server, which has the capability of caching necessary to distribute the system load, makes a proposal concerning a split web-cache algorithm devoted to the local web server to finally give an analysis of the performance through the appropriate trial.

  • According as mobile computing environment is generalized by development of wireless networking technology and communication device, mobile host uses local cache for extensibility and early response time. and reduction of limited bandwidth. This time, between mobile host and mobile support station cache need consistency interested person of done data accordingly much techniqueses propose. Existent consistency techniques because detection based techniqueses are used mainly and broadcast periodic invalid message considering frequent disconnection. However, these techniqueses increase abort step through increase or delay of transmission message number by accuracy examination of data. Therefore, because mobile host deletes cached data, and extensity are decreased. Techniques that is proposed in this paper did to perform refering update frequency about object that page request or when complete update operation happens to solve these problem. Therefore, have advantage that response is fast because could run write intention declaration or update by update frequency electively asynchronously when update operation consists and abort step decreases. Also, improved extensity running delete or propagation electively according to update frequency about periodic invalid message gone since disconnection.

  • Current rendering processors are organized mainly to process a triangle as fast as possible and recently parallel 3D rendering processors, which can process multiple triangles in parallel with multiple rasterizers, begin to appear. For high performance in processing triangles, it is desirable for each rasterizer have its own local pixel cache. However, the consistency problem may occur in accessing the data at the same address simulaneously by more than one rasterizer. In this paper, we propose a parallel rendering processor architecture resolving such consistency problem effectively. Moreover, the proposed architecture reduces the latency due to a pixel cache miss significantly. The experimental results show that proposed architecture achieves almost linear speedup at best case even in sixteen rasterizer

Performance Evaluation of Caching in PON-based 5G Fronthaul (PON기반 5G 프론트홀의 캐싱 성능 평가)

  • With the deployment of 5G infrastructure, content delivery network (CDN) will be a key role to provide explosive growing services for the independent media and YouTube which contain high-speed mobile contents. Without a local cache, the mobile backhaul and fronthaul should endure huge burden of bandwidth request for users as the increase number of direct accesses from contents providers. To deal with this issue, this paper fist presents both fronthaul solutions for CDN that use dark fibers and a passive optical network (PON). On top of that, we propose the aggregated content request specialized for PON caching and evaluate and compare its performance to legacy schemes through the simulation. The proposed PON caching scheme can reduce average access time of up to 0.5 seconds, 1/n received request packets, and save 60% of backhaul bandwidth compared to the no caching scheme. This work can be a useful reference for service providers and will be extended to further improve the hit ratio of cache in the future.

  • Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) cache poisoning is a MAC layer attack that can only be carried out when an attacker is connected to the same local network as the target machines. ARP is not a new problem, but wireless network introduces a new attack point and more vulnerable to the attack. The attack on wireless network cannot be detected by current detection tool installed on wired network. In order to detect the ARP poisoning attack, there must be a ARP poisoning detection tool for wireless LAN environment.   • 이 논문에서 제안하는 Gnutella기반의 Balanced tree topology는 Unstructured P2P이므로 탐색 질의가 hash key에 제한되지 않고 동적인 네트워크 환경에도 적합하다. 또한 topology형태가 tree이므로 Gnutella의 큰 문제점인 질의 탐색 시 중복된 패킷을 제거하고, tree형태가 balanced tree이므로 일정 홉수 안에 모든 노드를 방문 할 수 있다. Balanced tree topology는 일정 홉 수 안에 모든 노드를 방문하기 때문에 Gnutella기반의 P2P가 가지는 희귀 자료에 대한 검색의 문제점 또한 해결하였다. Gnutella기반의 확장 ping과 확장 local cache를 사용하여 balanced tree topology유지 및 문제 해결에 필요한 추가 비용을 줄였다.

  • 본 논문은 Proxy Mobile IPv6 환경에서 모바일 노드의 통신이 경로 최적화 기법을 적용한 상태에서 다른 MAG로의 이동성을 보장하는 경로 최적화 기법에 대해 연구하였다. Proxy Mobile IPv6 환경에서 삼각 라우팅 문제를 해결하기 위해 경로 최적화를 수행할 때 빠른 처리 속도와 안정성을 가지는 방법을 이동성과 함께 보장하는 방법에 대해 연구하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 경로 최적화 기법 중 Liebsch의 기법과 Dutta의 기법들의 문제점인 높은 시그널링 비용이나 이중 소비가 발생하는 비효율적인 측면이 있다. 본 논문에서는 적은 시그널링 비용으로 Local Mobility Anchor와 Mobile Access Gateway로부터 메시지를 받을 경우 모바일 노드의 다른 MAG 간 이동성을 보장하는 경로 최적화 기법에 대해 연구하였다.

  • 본 논문은 캐쉬 정보를 활용하여 Proxy Mobile IPv6 환경에서 삼각 라우팅 문제를 해결하기 위해 경로 최적화를 수행할 때 빠른 처리 속도와 안정성을 가지는 방법에 대해 연구하였다. 기존의 경로 최적화 방법 중 Liebsch의 방법은 모든 경우를 확인하기에 어떤 상황에서도 동일한 시그널링 코스트가 사용되지만 경로 최적화를 위한 프록시 바인딩의 시그널링 코스트가 많고, Dutta의 방법은 경로 최적화를 위한 프록시 바인딩의 시그널링 코스트는 효과적으로 감소시켰으나 Mobile Access Gateway 사이의 프록시 바인딩 과정이 없음으로 인하여 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 간과하였다. 본 논문에서는 시그널링 비용은 증가시키지 않으면서 Local Mobility Anchor와 Mobile Access Gateway로부터 메시지를 받을 경우 응답 메시지를 전송하여 신뢰성을 향상시킨 경로 최적화 방법을 캐쉬 정보를 활용하는 방안에 관하여 연구하였다.
