  • A local area network (LAN) is a computer network within a small geographical area such as a home, school, computer laboratory, office building or group of buildings. A LAN is composed of interconnected workstations and personal computers which are each capable of accessing and sharing data and devices, such as printers, scanners and data storage devices, anywhere on the LAN. LANs are characterized by higher communication and data transfer rates and the lack of any need for leased communication lines. Communication between remote parties can be achieved through a process called Networking, involving the connection of computers, media and networking devices. When we talk about networks, we need to keep in mind three concepts, distributed processing, network criteria and network structure. The purpose of this Network is to design a Local Area Network (LAN) for a BAEC (Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission) Head Quarter and implement security measures to protect network resources and system services. To do so, we will deal with the physical and logical design of a LAN. The goal of this Network is to examine of the Local Area Network set up for a BAEC HQ and build a secure LAN system.

  • IVN (in-vehicle network) connects various electronic modules in the vehicles. It requires real-time, low noise, high reliability, and high flexibility. It includes CAN (controller area network), CAN-FD (CAN flexible data rate), FlexRay, LIN (local interconnect network), SENT (single edge nibble transmission), and PSI5 (peripheral sensor interface 5). In this paper, their operation priciples, target applications, and pros and cons are explained.

  • This paper presents a quality-of-service-enabled next generation local area network architecture which can provide efficiently convergence services over the Internet protocol. The basic concept of the architecture is to combine such three principle technologies as programmable switched network quality-of-service resource management and Internet protocol based network convergence. We discuss system entities and technologies development, which constitute the proposed network. The architecture of the network is then described. Implementation of systems verifies the proposed technologies. The network as a next generation local area network can provide quality-of-service-enabled real-time communication services as well as existing data traffic, and the open programmable interface can facilitates to adopt cost-effectively emerging new services or functionalities.

  • NDAS(Network Data Access System) is a system that interconnects high speed network(B-ISDN) and Local Area Network(Ethernet, FDDI). Nowadays, the request of multimedia data increases rapidly, so NDAS system must accept and process that request efficiently. Comparing with normal data traffic characteristics, multimedia data traffic characteristics are much complex, so it is necessary to implement the system that can cover such factor. In this paper, we suggest a NDAS hardware system model and also we propose a proper buffer size of NDAS system through the simulation. For measuring the proper buffer size of NDAS, we assumed two different simulation models, one is the case of using only one buffer and the other is the case of using two different buffers for Ethernet and FDDI, respectively. After comparing and analyzing simulation results, we suggest the proper NDAS system buffer size.

  • Two multiple access protocols are proposed for a multichannel WDM optical fibre local area network or metropolitan area network in which users are interconnected using a passive star topology. Each user has a single tunable transmitter and a single tunable receiver. A transmitter sends a control packet before its data packet transmission so that its intended receivers can tune to the proper data channel wavelength. The maximum throughput of the proposed protocols are independent of the effective normalized propagation delay which may include the transmitter and receiver tuning times and the processing delays. The maximum throughputs of the protocols are analyzed and compared with those of the existing ones by numerical examples. The message delay of the R- Aloha/synchronous N-server switch protocol which is suitable for the queued users is also analyzed.

  • From now on, the network is being developed into PSTN(public switched telephone network) and PDN(public data network), that is depend on the form of data. The former one pursues sending voice, and the latter one pursues sending data. But it causes big loss of the economy and efficiency. So, ISDN, processing voice and data at same time, gives a big profit to user. To enlarge the ISDN at the narrow area, it is necessary that study to send the mixture form of voice and data in LAN environment. So, this paper proposes the algorithm about the mixture form of voice and data in ethernet and token-ring. that is widely used in these days.

  • The local area weather information is very important element to estimate where the air-pollutant will flow. But the existing NBC hazard prediction model does not consider the local area weather information. So, in this paper, we present SN-HPM that uses the local area wether information to perform more accurate and reliable estimate, and embody it to program.

  • Few-shot learning is a sub-area of machine learning problems, which aims to classify target images that only contain a few labeled samples for training. As a representative few-shot learning method, the Prototypical network has been received much attention due to its simplicity and promising results. However, the Prototypical network uses the sample mean of samples from the same class as the prototypes of that class, which easily results in learning uncharacteristic features in the low-data scenery. In this study, we propose to use local descriptors (i.e., patches along the channel within feature maps) from the same class to explicitly obtain more representative prototypes for Prototypical Network so that significant intra-class feature information can be maintained and thus improving the classification performance on few-shot learning tasks. Experimental results on various benchmark datasets including mini-ImageNet, CUB-200-2011, and tiered-ImageNet show that the proposed method can learn more discriminative intra-class features by the local descriptors and obtain more generic prototype representations under the few-shot setting.

  • This papers deals with feasibility study of wireless motion control. Wireless telecommunication advances with development of IT technology and extends more and more areas. So we selected Bluetooth out of the technologies(Bluetooth, SWAP(SharedWireless Access Protocol), IrDA(Infra Red Data Association), WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network)) which was developed for local data communication and set up simple experimental system for wireless data transfer and server and client program for wireless data transfer was wrote. We successfully transferred some data wirelessly with this program.
