Interfacial shear strength between epoxy and carbon fiber has been analyzed utilizing the microbond specimen with an epoxy micro-droplet adhered onto single carbon fiber. The interfacial shear stress distributions along the fiber/matrix interface were calculated by finite element analysis using three kinds of finite element models such as droplet model, circular-crosssection model and pull-out model. Conclusions were obtained as follows. (1) Interfacial shear stress distribution showed that larger stresses were concentrated in the fiber/matrix interface for microbond test than for pull-out test. Thus, debonding at the fiber/matrix interface during microbond test was liable to occur at low load level. (2) Microbond test showed higher interfacial strength which was caused by various effects of micro-droplet geometry and size as well as stress concentration in the region contacting with the micro-vise tip.

In this study, authors attempted to determine the bond behavior characteristics to utilize Grid typed CFRP reinforcement as an alternative to steel rebar used as concrete reinforcement. Since it is difficult to understand the influence of the transverse grid length of the Grid typed CFRP reinforcement in the existing numerical analysis proposal for bond behavior, a nonlinear 3D model was created and finite element analysis was performed. To perform the analysis, the analysis was conducted by inputting a nonlinear material model and modeling the bond interface characteristics between the Grid typed CFRP reinforcement and concrete and comparing them with the actual direct pull-out test results. The bond behavior characteristics of the Grid typed CFRP reinforcement were found to be very dominated by the factors of the transverse grid, and showed a tendency to continuously increase load.
A previous stud-pull test was modified to measure the bond strength of polyurethane foam to carbon steel substrate. This test was appropriate in that the specimen foamed on Zn phosphated steel (0.95 kN) was broken at higher load than that of smooth galvanizing treated steel (0.38 kN). Among the samples foamed on the substrate atvarious preheating temperatures, the polyurethane foam to the steel held over 60$^{\circ}C$ exhibited very high bond strength. The samples were exposed at water vapor absorption, and, then, their bond strengths were measured. The adhesion was significantly reduced in the samples foamed on the steel at temperatures below 40$^{\circ}C$ and above 70$^{\circ}C$. For the polyurethane foams formulated with two blowing gases, the adhesion was higher by 0.03 kN in the samples with HCFC-l4lb than that with HFC-245fa. When the these samples were exposed at water vapor soaking, the reduction of the bond strength for the HFC-245fa blown sample was negligible due to smaller area fraction of void area filled with gas at interfacial area. Consequently, it was found that adhesion of polyurethane foam to metal substrate was determined by variation of microstructural features with substrate preheating, surface treatment type of blowing agent.

This paper presents a design of a 100 W high-efficiency power amplifier, whose operational frequency band expands from 30 to 512 MHz, using negative feedback network, push-pull structure, broadband RF choke, and transmission line transformer for balun configuration. The push-pull amplifier has been tuned for higher output power using a shunt capacitor as a matching component at its load especially for high-frequency region. The implemented power amplifier exhibited a very flat power gain of $18.34{\pm}0.9\;dB$ throughout the operating frequency band and very high power-added efficiency(PAE) of greater than 40% at an output power of 100 W. It also showed second- and third-harmonic distortion levels of below -34 dBc and -12 dBc, respectively, through the entire operating frequency band.
The peculiarity of end-expanded soil nailing method(EESNM) is in fixing the wedge-type steel body spreaded by collars and grouting its surroundings by cement milk within soils, after extending hole bottom over drilling hole diameter with top drill bit. The present study was done to establish the effect of this method. Laboratory model test were carried out to investigate the behavior characteristics with the performance of the pull-out test and failure experiment, after preparing soil test box having 1,300mm length, width 1,000mm, and height 1,100mm, and the same experimental condition was set up to compare with the general soil nailing method(GSNM). The pull-out force of about 23 percentage was increased, and the horizontal displacements 1.2 from 9.1 percentage in soil-nailed wall decreased in EESNM compare with GSNM. The axial force acting on nail increased considerably at load level over 7 ton in EESNM and 5 ton in GSNM. The predicted failure line from the maxima analyzed by axial tensile strain located at long distance from soil-nailed wall in EESNM. The EESNM demonstrated the superiority of reinforcement effect in comparison with GSNM from the results above mentioned.
In this study, the load transfer mechanism of tendon-grout interface of rock anchors has been examined through a series of static pull-out tests conducted on the model rock anchors constructed in the natural and artificial rock masses of granite and concrete, respectively. Several rock masses with horizontal discontinuities have been prepared to study the effects of weak planes on the shear stress distribution in tendon-grout interface. As a result, for the rock anchors constructed in the rock mass without discontinuities, stress concentration occurs on the upper part of the tendon-grout interface. On the contrary, as the frequency or the number of discontinuities increases, the shear stress distribution along the depth tends to be uniform. Also, an experimental equation about shear stress distribution between tendon-grout interface can be made by the regression of test results. The shear stresses computed from the experimental results between the rock surface and the depth of 2~3 times the tendon diameter are smaller than those from theory. Below the depth, the reverse can be observed.

In this study, we tried to confirm the influence range in the ground due to Bulbed, Reinforcement change and ground conditions change through numerical analysis. By checking the increase width of the reinforcement effect accompanying the increase of Bulbed, grasping the trend accompanying the change of the ground conditions and deciding soil nail Reinforcement and Bulbed, so that economical construction will be carried out It can be judged that it can be utilized as basic material. In this paper, we analyzed the Displacement due to positional load of reinforcement by utilizing MIDAS GTS NX which is a universal numerical analysis program. In addition, it is necessary to ensure the diameter star economy of Bulbed size and Reinforcement by comparing / analyzing whether the Bulbed relaxation region of Reinforcement represents arbitrary characteristics in the ground in Sandy soil, Weathered granite soil ground due to soil nail pullout load Numerical analysis was conducted to select criteria that can be done.
Recently, large-scale underground cavern such as underground hydraulic-power plant tend to be constructed very largely, so long-length rock bolt are generally used to support the huge plastic zone. However, problems fur bend-ing shape of the long-length steel bar and the bonding effects of anchoring systems are caused during the construction of the long-length rock bolt. In this study, field pull-out test for long-length rock bolt are carried out to estimate the most efficient anchoring system among the saw-toothed shape, grooved shape and smoothed shape with each 6 shells for 5.0m, 7.5m, 10.0m, 15.0m length. The axial load and axial displacement are measured with each load stage and than test results are analyzed to evaluate the behavior characteristics for each anchoring systems of long-length rock bolt. Also, the improvements of anchoring systems are proposed and discussed in this paper.

This paper presents the two lossless auxiliary inductors-assisted voltage source type half bridge (single ended push pull: SEPP) series resonant high frequency inverter for induction heated king roller in copy and printing machines. The simple high-frequency inverter treated here can completely achieve stable zero current soft switching (ZCS) commutation for wide its output power regulation ranges and load variations under its constant high frequency pulse density modulation (PDM) scheme. Its transient and steady state operating principle is originally described and discussed for a constant high-frequency PDM control strategy under a stable ZCS operation commutation, together with its output effective power regulation characteristics-based on the high frequency PDM strategy. The experimental operating performances of this voltage source SEPP ZCS-PDM series resonant high frequency inverter using IGBTs are illustrated as compared with computer simulation results and experimental ones. Its power losses analysis and actual efficiency are evaluated and discussed on the basis of simulation and experimental results. The feasible effectiveness of this high frequency inverter appliance implemented here is proved from the practical point of view.

As the industrial desire for a step change in productivity within the manufacture of composite structures increases, so does the interest in Through-Thickness Reinforcement technologies. As manufacturers look to increase the production rate, whilst reducing cost, Through-Thickness Reinforcement technologies represent valid methods to reinforce structural joints, as well as providing a potential alternative to mechanical fastening and bolting. The use of tufting promises to resolve the typically low delamination resistance, which is necessary when it comes to creating intersections within complex composite structures. Emerging methods include the use of 3D woven connectors, and orthogonally intersecting fibre packs, with the components secured by the selective insertion of microfasteners in the form of tufts. Intersections of this type are prevalent in aeronautical applications, as a typical connection to be found in aircraft wing structures, and their intersections with the composite skin and other structural elements. The common practice is to create back-to-back composite "L's", or to utilise a machined metallic connector, mechanically fastened to the remainder of the structure. 3D woven connectors and selective Through-Thickness Reinforcement promise to increase the ultimate load that the structure can bear, whilst reducing manufacturing complexity, increasing the load carrying capability and facilitating the automated production of parts of the composite structure. This paper provides an overview of the currently available methods for creating intersections within composite structures and compares them to alternatives involving the use of 3D woven connectors, and the application of selective Through-Thickness Reinforcement for enhanced damage tolerance. The use of tufts is investigated, and their effect on the load carrying ability of the structure is examined. The results of mechanical tests are presented for each of the methods described, and their failure characteristics examined.
