  • In this work, the effect of applied load on the wear behavior of Al/SiC composites was studied. Al/SiC composites were fabricated following the thermal spray process. Dry sliding wear tests were performed on these composites under four different applied loads, i.e., 5, 10, 15, and 20 N. The wear behaviors of the composites under these applied loads were investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Under applied loads of up to 15 N, the wear rates of Al/SiC composites decreased with an increase in the applied load because of the formation of an adhesion layer on the worn surface. However in the case of an applied load of 20 N, the wear rate was significantly high because the formation and fracture of the adhesion layer were repeated continuously. These results show that the wear behaviors of the tested composites are significantly influenced owing to the applied loads.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the connector having an influence on the elasto-plastic buckling load of ball-jointed single layer latticed domes. As an analytic model, domes are composed of tubular member elements, balls and connectors. The joint system of members in single layer latticed domes has influence on the buckling load. Therefore, in this paper, the variation of the elasto-plastic buckling load by effects of the connectors characteristics is analyzed. The structural behavior of the connector is investigated by following points: (1) the length of rigid zone, (2) looseness of screw and (3) the diameter of connector. In addition, the elasto-plastic buckling analysis is carried out through the variation of the connectors section of yielding part, and then the buckling mode of the dome is examined. As a result, it is emphasized that the characteristics of the connector have significant effects on the buckling load of latticed domes.

교정용 BRACKET과 ARCHWIRE 사이의 마찰저항에 대한 비교연구 (COMPARISON OF THE FRICTIONAL RESISTANCE BETWEEN ORTHODONTIC BRACKET & ARCHWIRE)

  • Practitioners are aware of the presence of friction between bracket system and archwire during sliding movement of teeth. Clinically a mesiodistally applied force must exceed the frictional force to produce a tooth movement. The objective of this study were to determine, on a dry condition, changes in magnitude of friction with respect to load, 3rd order inclination (Torque), archwire materials and ligature type. Three wire alloys (Stainless Steel, TMA, NiTi) in two wire sizes (.016, .016x, .022 inch) were examined respect to two bracket system (Straight, Standard), and two ligature type (Metal, Plastic ligature) at three levels of load (100g, 150g, 200g). The results were as follows; 1. Frictional resistance was found to increase with increasing load for S.S., TMA, NiTi. 2. The straight bracket system was exhibited more frictional force than standard bracket system for .016x, .022 S.S. tightly ligated metal ligature. But, torque difference did not increase friction for loose metal ligature & plastic ligature. 3. Regardless of the ligature type, torque and load, stainless steel wire sliding against stainless steel exhibited the lowest friction, and TMA sliding against stainless steel exhibited the highest friction. 4. The loose stainless steel ligature generated lower frictional resistance than plastic ligature in all experimental groups. 5. The following factors affected friction in decreasing order; wire material ligature type, and load.

한국형 EMS 시스템용 실시간 조류계산 프로그램 개발 (Development of Real-Time Load Flow Program for Korean Energy Management System)

  • This paper introduces a real-time load flow program for Korean energy management system(EMS). This study is concentrated on the following aspects. First, we propose the model of the real-time database and power system equipment for the real-time load flow. These models are extracted from the needs of load flow functions and are designed to the application common information. Second, several techniques are applied for the efficient convergence and computational speed. The generation/load mismatch is redistributed using generator participation factors which are separated to the reference bus. For the voltage control, the jacobian matrix is composed with the basic Y matrix elements and the voltage control elements. Through the optimally ordering, jacobian row and column for a column is changed. However all jacobian matrix entries have same order with the Y matrix. The proposed program is tested using the Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO) system. Through the test, we verified that the proposed program can be effectively used to accomplish the Korean EMS system.

  • This article examines the causality relationship among SMP, base-load share, LNG import price, and exchange rate in Korean power market during 2002~2012, using unit root test, cointegration test, and vector error correction model(VECM). The cointegration test shows that 4 variables without unit root have been in the long-run causality. As the results of ECM, SMP is analyzed to have been unilaterally caused from LNG import price and base-load share in the shot-run, while it has been unilaterally caused from LNG import price and exchange rate in the long-run. This article has the following policy implications: the adjustment of exchange rate to reduce he risk of LNG import price and the proper securement of base-load share for the long-run stability of SMP.

  • 형식인증시험을 통해 획득된 풍력발전기의 기계적 하중 데이터를 분석하기 위한 관련 프로그램 개발과 절차가 수행되었다. IEC 61400-13 규격을 기반으로 하는 측정 데이터에 대한 검증, 하중유형에 따른 분류, 시계열 및 통계 데이터 분석, 파워 스펙트럼 밀도함수 및 피로하중 스펙트럼 계산, 등가하중 계산 등의 절차가 본 프로그램을 통해 수행되었다. 수집된 데이터들이 피로하중을 산정하기에 충분한가를 판단하기 위해 정상전력생산의 경우에 대한 수집행렬을 구성하였다. 50 개의 하중 범위 분할 개수를 사용하는 우수집계법을 통해 피로하중 스펙트럼이 얻어지며, 사용된 재료에 따라 다르게 S-N 선도의 기울기를 적용하여 최종적으로 등가하중을 산출하였다. 모노파일 하부구조를 가지는 NREL 5MW 풍력발전기의 공탄성 시뮬레이션 데이터에 이용하여 위의 전반적인 절차를 수행하였다.

타이어 접지압과 토양속 응력분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on Soil Stress and Contact Pressure of Tire)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of three factors(dynamic load, inflation pressure and multiple passes of the tire) on the contact pressure and the soil stresses under the tire. A series of soil bin experiment was conducted with a 6.00R14 radial-ply tire for sandy loam soil. Tire contact pressure at soil surface and soil stresses at 10cm and 20cm soil depth were measured for the three levels of dynamic load(1.17kN, 2.35kN and 3.53kN), for the three levels of tire inflation pressure(103.42kPa, 206.84kPa and 413.69kPa), and for five different number of passes(1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 pass). The following results were drawn from this study 1) As dynamic load, inflation pressure and number of passes of the tire increased, tire contact pressure at soil surface and soil stresses at 10cm and 20cm soil depth increased accordingly. Thus increased in dynamic load, inflation pressure and number of passes of the tire would increase soil compaction. 2) The effect of three different factors, or dynamic load, inflation pressure and number of passes of the tire, decreased as the soil depth increase. Consequently, it was found that the soil compaction at a shallow depth in soil is larger than that at deep place in soil. 3) The increase of dynamic load and number of passes increased soil stress exponentially, but the increase of inflation pressure increased soil stress linearly. The effect of tire inflation pressure on soil stress was relatively less than that of the dynamic load. Therefore, it was concluded that dynamic load is more important factor affecting soil compaction in comparison to the inflation pressure of tire.

연령별 일부 한국인의 Glycemic Load와 혈중 지질과의 관련성 (Correlation between Glycemic Load and Blood Lipid Profile in Some Korean according to Age)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between glycemic load and blood lipid profiles in some Korean according to age: The subjects were divided into four groups based on the following age ranges; $10\sim19$ age group(n=260), $20\sim49$ age group(n=129), $50\sim64$ age group(n=135), over 65 age group(n=87). They were measured for the anthropometric measurements, dietary intakes, glycemic load and blood analysis. The average ages of the $10\sim19$ age group, $20\sim49$ age group, $50\sim64$ age group and over 65 age group were 10.9 yrs, 40.8 yrs, 57.1 yrs and 70.8 yrs, respectively. The food intakes were increased according to age in the younger two groups but decreased in the elder two groups. The energy and carbohydrate intakes were the highest in the $10\sim19$ age group. The averages of serum HDL-cholesterol levels of the $20\sim49,\;50\sim64$ and over 65 age group were significantly lower than that of the $10\sim19$ age group. The food intake of the $10\sim19$ age group was positively correlated to the glycemic load(p<0.001). The food and energy intakes of the $20\sim49,\;50\sim64$ and over 65 age group were positively correlated to the glycemic load. And the serum triglyceride and AI levels of the over 65 age group were positively correlated to the glycemic load(p<0.001, p<0.05). These results suggest the need for further research into the relation between glycemic load and blood lipids in order to ensure proper carbohydrate intakes.

  • 흙의 압밀시험(壓密試驗)에서 하중증가율(荷重增加率)을 변화(變化)시켰을 때 압밀(壓密)의 제계수에 미치는 영향을 고찰하기 위하여 표준압밀시험(標準壓密試驗)에서 적용하는 전하량(戰荷重) 증가율(增加率)을 여러가지로 변경(變更)하여 압밀시험(壓密試驗)을 실시(實施)하여 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 하중증가율(荷重增加率)이 클수록 침하량(沈荷量)은 크나 팽창량(膨脹量)은 하중증가율(荷重增加率)과 무관(無關)하다. 일침압밀(一沈壓密) 완자점(完子點)까지의 시간은 하중증가율(荷重增加率)이 작을수록 큰 값을 나타냈고, 또 과압밀 영역에서는 하중증가(荷重增加)에 따라 일침압밀완자점(一沈壓密完子點)의 시간(時間)은 큰 값을 나타내고 정규압밀(正規壓密)영역에서는 거의 일정(一定)한 값을 나타냈다. 압밀계수(壓密係數)는 재하량(載荷重)이 증가(增加)함에 따라 감소(減少)하며 하중증가율(荷重增加率)이 클수록 압밀계수(壓密係數)의 값도 크게 나타났다. 이침압밀비(二次壓密比)의 값은 곡연(曲緣)의 변곡점(變曲點)과 거의 일치(一致)되는 점(點)에서 최대(最大)로 되었다.

  • reliability from components reliability. In this case, it assumes that components failure is mutually independent, but it may not true in real systems. In this study, the mean cost per unit time is computed as the ratio of mean life to the mean cost. The mean life is obtained by the reliability function under power rule model. The mean cost is obtained by the mathematical model based on the inspection interval. A heuristic method is proposed to determine the optimal number of redundant units and the optimal inspection interval to minimize the mean cost per unit time. The assumptions of this study are as following : First, in the load-sharing k-out-of-n:G system, total loads are applied to the system and shared by the operating components. Secondly, the number of failed components affects the failure rate of surviving components as a function of the total load applied. Finally, the relation between the load and the failure rate of surviving components is set by the power rule model. For the practical application of the above methods, numerical examples are presented.
