  • A new rotary gravure-offset printing unit is constructed by paralleling a gravure plate cylinder, a blanket cylinder and a impression roller. A Muti-Unit Gravure-Offset Printing Press(MUGOP) equipped with a series of the 3 printing units is utilized for roll-to-roll fine printing. Its core technology is precise over-piling printing of fine patterns. The severe problems of 'slurring' and 'doubling' in typical offset printing are unavoidable, which can be eliminated by applying a soft pad-type blanket cylinder and the unique 'true rolling' technique. Nip pressure between the blanket cylinder and the plate cylinder is measured by the constant pressure control system which equipped with load cells attached on the cylinders' axes. The running circumference of the blanket cylinder is increased to reach the same circumference of the plate cylinder as the pressure increasing, so that the specifications of the blanket cylinder is determined by the relationships of its shore hardness, diameter and nip pressure. When a softer blanket is used, a blanket cylinder of smaller diameter could give higher nip pressure. Realization of the true rolling technique on the MUGOP makes multilayer printing possible as well as fine printing in printed electronics.

  • It's important to measure quantitative properties about thermal-nano behavior of polymer for producing high quality components using Nanoimprint lithography process. Nanoscale indents can be used to make the cells for molecular electronics and drug delivery, slots for integration into nanodevices, and defects for tailoring the structure and properties. In this study, formability of polymethylmetacrylate(PMMA) and polycarbonate(PC) were characterized Polymer has extreme variation in thermo mechanical variation during forming high temperature. Because of heating the polymer, it becomes softer than at room temperature. In this case it is particularly important to study high temperature-induced mechanical properties of polymer. Nanoindenter XP(MTS) was used to measure thermo mechanical properties of PMMA and PC. Polymer was heated by using the heating stage on NanoXP. At CSM(Continuous Stiffness Method) mode test, heating temperature was $110^{\circ}C,120^{\circ}C,130^{\circ}C,140^{\circ}C$ and $150^{\circ}C$ for PMMA, $140^{\circ}C,150^{\circ}C,160^{\circ}C,170^{\circ}C$ and $180^{\circ}C$ for PC, respectively. Maximum indentation depth was 2000nm. At basic mode test, heating temperature was $90^{\circ}C$ and $110^{\circ}C$ for PMMA, $140^{\circ}C,160^{\circ}C$ for PC. Maximum load was 10mN, 20mN and 40mN. Also indented pattern was observed by using SEM and AFM. Mechanical properties of PMMA and PC decreased when temperature increased. Decrease of mechanical properties from PMMA went down rapidly than that of PC.

  • The satellite should generate electric power efficiently to perform the mission successfully within limited power. For this reason, the electrical power system of LEO satellites usually regulates the power which is generated from the solar cells using MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) method. This paper proposes advanced MPPT algorithm based on the fuzzy logic applied to small CubeSat satellite. The simulation has been performed to confirm the validity of the proposed method by interlocking between MATLAB/Simulink and STK (Systems Tool Kit). The EBA(Energy Balance Analysis) has also been performed at two different pointing modes of KAUSAT-5 for solar irradiation according to the satellite orbit and attitude, and load capacity varied with operation modes by Simulink and STK. The performance of fuzzy logic-based MPPT algorithm was verified through the EBA. The validity of the proposed MPPT algorithm based on the fuzzy logic was also confirmed by comparing with P&O (Perturbation & Observation) algorithm that is general in the MPPT.

  • In this paper, for the improvement of quality of service(QoS) performance of heterogeneous networks, multi-cell scheduling is proposed. In order to implement the proposed algorithm, for the recognition of the impact on the throughput performance of users, macro-pico-cells that form distributed architecture were proposed. In operating heterogeneous networks, considering the centralized structure, a macro-RRH(Remote Radio Head) deployment scenario was proposed. For interference mitigation of the proposed system, by applying the optional sub-frame, through CQI(Channel Quality Indicator) measurement for each sub-frame period, constraint conditions were measured according to system situations. For the simplification, the pattern of the same ABS muting was assumed. In the above two multi-cell environments, the algorithm of high-speed load balancing maintenance was proposed.

  • In order to investigate the change in soil arch structure developed within the soil subjected to trapdoor movement, various responses in the deformed particle assembly were observed via photoelastic measurement technique. The particle assembly was composed of the regularly stacked model particles coated by thin photoelastic material. Variation of the internal structure transmitting contact forces were observed by taking images showing the photoelastic responses and compared with the change in slip lines and pressures measured by load cells placed beneath the assembly. Initial soil arch structure established immediately after the trapdoor movement collapsed progressively and meanwhile a new extended structure was developed against further movement of the trapdoor. For the sufficient movement of the trapdoor, initially identical regions bounded by the soil arch structure and slip lines were separated and the region enclosed by slip lines became a part of the region loosing the transmitting contact forces identified by photoelastic measurement.

  • Deep excavation increases utility of underground spaces for high buildings. subways etc. To excavate vertically the underground, safe earth retaining walls and supporting systems should be prepared. Recently anchors have been used to support the excavation wall. The anchored excavation has some advantages toprovide working space for underground construction. In this paper the prestressed anchor loads were measured by load cells which attacted to the anchors to support the excavation walls at eight construction fields. where under-ground deep excavation was performed on cohesionless soils. The lateral pressures on the retaining walls, which are estimated from the measured anchor forces, shows a trapezoidal distribution that the pressure increases linearly with depth from the ground surface to 30% of the excavation depth and then keeps constant value regardless of the stiffness of the walls. The maximum lateral pressure was same to 63% of the Ranking active earth pressure or 17% of the vertical overburden pressure at the final depth The investigation of the measured lateral pressure on the anchored excavation walls shows that empirical earth pressure diagram presented by Terzaghi-Peck and Tschebotarioff could be applied with some modifications to determine anchor loads for the anchored excavation in cohesionless soils.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of the kinematical and the kinetical factors that calculated from preflight to preflight of salto forward straight 3/2 turn motion between skillers and less-skillers. four S-VHS video cameras operating at 60Hz were used to record the performances. Five elite male gymnasts were participated in this study as subjects. Three-dimensional coordinates of 21 body landmarks during each trial were collected using a Direct Linear Transformation method. The raw 3-D coordinates of the 21 body landmarks were smoothed using a second order lowpass, recursive Butterworth digital filter and a cutoff frequency of 10Hz. Load cells attached on the beneath of a board were used to attain the kinetic variables. It was found that the more angular momentum in the longitudinal axis, the less vertical velocity and these angular momentum effected the height of peak in the preflight. Also, it was revealed that the larger angular momentum in the medio-lateral axis was rather than it in the longitudinal axis to increase vertical height and rotation force of the body. For the reaction force of springboard, the vertical and the horizontal reaction force were 16.52BW and 3.45BW, respectively. It was found that the higher value of the vertical reaction force induced the faster vertical velocity and the higher an ar momentum. of the whole body center of gravity.

  • During start up and shut down of a proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC), the performance and lifetime of PEMFC were reduced. In this study, effect of startup and shutdown were investigated in dead-end type PEMFC using oxygen as a cathode gas with polarization curve, impedance spectroscopy (EIS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Dummy load which eliminates residual hydrogen and oxygen during startup and shutdown operation should be applied to mitigated the degradation of PEMFC performance. At 50% relative humidity (RH) under the repetitive on/off cycling, the cell performance decayed faster than at 100% RH because of corrosion of the cathode carbon support. Water suppling into cell reduced the degradation rate of dead-end type PEMFC during start up and shut down cycling at 50% RH.

  • An abrupt increase of traffic-load in cellular CDMA systems can cause overload, as a result, degrade the quality of service (QoS) and the spectrum utilization due to lacking radio resources in base stations. In this paper, we propose a joint coverage and resource management (JCRM) scheme which can improve the QoS degradation and the spectrum utilization. The JCRM scheme hands over the overloaded traffic to neighboring cells by virtually reducing overloaded cell coverage and extending neighboring cell coverage, as well the scheme allocates radio resources based on the necessary handover probability. The proposed scheme can be applied to the existing cellular CDMA systems as well as adaptive coverage management schemes for next generation mobile communication systems.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive power control scheme employing a self-optimization concept in femtocell systems, in order to improve system capacity, thereby reducing call-drop probability. In the proposed scheme, each femto base station(FBS) controls individual channel's transmission power base on two parameters; the neighboring cell's transmission power for each individual channel which is delivered from a femto-gateway and the received power strength from neighboring cells which is periodically measured by means of a spectrum sensing. Adaptive adjustment of individual channel's transmission power in accordance with femto mobile station(FMS) mobility features can also reduce undesirable handovers and evenly distribute traffic load over all femtocells. In addition, the manipulative control of channel's transmission power is able to keep the system coverage and the call-drop probability within an acceptable range, regardless of density of femtocells. Computer simulation shows that the proposed scheme outperforms existing schemes in terms of the system coverage and the call-drop probability.
