This paper describes the design of a power cell-based pulsed power modulator with fast rise times. The pulse-generating section of the pulse power modulator is a series stack of power cells. Each power cell is composed of a storage capacitor, a pulse switch, and a bypass diode. When the pulse switches are turned on, the capacitors are connected in series and the sum of voltages is applied to the load. For output pulses with fast rise times, an IGBT with fast turn-on characteristics is adopted as a pulse switch and the optimized gate driving method is used. Pspice simulation is performed to account for the gate driving method. A 10 kV, 12-power cell-based pulsed power modulator is tested under resistive load and plasma reactor load. The rise times of output pulses less than 20 ns are confirmed, showing that the pulsed power modulator can be effectively applied to pulsed power applications with fast rise times.

배터리의 상태를 확인하기 위한 또 다른 중요한 데이터는 배터리의 잔존수명(State of charge, SOH)을 알 수 있는 내부저항과 충전상태(State of charge, SOC)를 알 수 있는 무 부하 단자전압(Open circuit voltage, OCV)이 있다.

The yield of 3D stacked IC manufacturing improves with the pre-bond integrity testing of through silicon vias (TSVs). In this paper, an efficient pre-bond test method is presented based on IEEE std. 1500, which can precisely diagnose any happening of TSV defects. The IEEE std. 1500 wrapper cells are augmented for the proposed method. The pre-bond TSV test can be performed by adjusting the driving strength of TSV drivers and the test clock frequency. The experimental results show the advantages of the proposed approach.
Several design parameters for a 100 kW molten carbonate fuel cell stack was described. Approximately 170 cells are required to generate 100 kW at a current density of $125\;mA/cm^{2}$ with $6000\;cm^{2}$ cells. An overall heat balance was calculated to predict exit temperature. In order to limit the stack temperature in the range of $600-700^{\circ}C$, current load cannot exceed $75\;mA/cm^{2}$ at atmospheric operation. The 100 kW power is expected only under pressurization. Recycle of cathode gas by more than 50% is recommended to run the stack at $125\;mA/cm^{2}$ and 3 atm. Manifolds should be designed based on gas flow rates for the suggested operating condition.
Model for the dynamic simulation of dynamic behaviors of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is provided. This model is based upon (1) coupled mass and heat transfer characteristics and (2) important chemical reactions such as electrochemical and reforming reaction in high temperature fuel cells such as SOFC. It is found that the thermal inertia of solid materials in SOFC plays an important role to the dynamic behavior of cell temperature. Dynamic characteristics of cell voltage, power and chemical compositions with different levels of load changes are investigated.
In this study, a machine grouping problem for the formation of manufacturing cells is considered. We constructed the problem as minimizing manufacturing leadtime consisting of parts' processing, moving, and waiting time. Specifically, the main objective of the defined problem is established as minimizing inter-cell traffic in order to minimize the part's moving time. In addition, to reduce the waiting time of parts, the load balance among cells is implicitly included as constraints. Since this problem is well known as NP-complete and cannot be solved in polynomial time, a genetic algorithm is implemented to obtain solutions. Also, a local optimization algorithm is applied in order to improve the solution by the genetic algorithm. Several experiments show that the suggested algorithms guarantee near optimal solutions in a few seconds.
