The purpose of this research is to analyze the perception and satisfaction of QOL (Quality of Life) in daily living activities in the area of Hongseung-gun. The subjects included 467 residents in the area. The results of this study are as follows: First, the factors affecting the satisfaction with daily living activities were three types such as social system & welfare service, living convenience & cultural service, and public administration & medical service. Second, those who are young, females, highly educated, and holding professional jobs showed lower satisfaction of QOL than their counterparts. Lastly, the surveyees were more satisfied with public administration & medical service than social system & welfare service and living convenience & cultural service. The results of this study can be applied to the decision-making of public administration and welfare-policy.

Brand is a useful tool for modem people living under the age of the brand, to explain the information of their products by differentiating themselves from others. It also represents the value of company and plays a major role convincing customers. Even living space brands are no exception. According to the development of marketing management ability, living space brands require the new sales strategy to dominate the market over the business competition, and plan differently for a changing market environment. On such account, companies are commercializing the living space via establishing its brands. Thus the study will cover the living space differentiation strategies for promoting the brand images of respective construction companies and will strive to compare and analyze the differentiation strategy factors that construction firms are pursuing through case analysis framework. Moreover, it's objective focuses on materializing the strategies of living space in accordance to the brand application elements.

The advancements of the society aggravate ecological problems, and it is at a point where our living environment is under a serious threat. To resolve such problems, environmental friendly design concepts are evolving through various naming conventions such as conservation of global environment, environmental symbiosis, friendly environmental, nature-friendly, environmental friendly type, green building and eco-construction. Accordingly, in this research, for the purposes of healthy living environmental construction, nature as the subject of its design and highly praised as a new design arena, floral art design theory and its functions, as well as its examples are explored. With the Information available, I was able to confirm that, in interior decorating, floral art design is used as a tool for expressing environmental friendly space, and gradually its necessity and the scope of its application have been broadened. Therefore, utilization of floral art design is to fabricate environmental friendly interior space; and it is expected as a substitute for accomplishing green amenity, and its study should continue for the years to come.

The purpose of this study was to invesitigate the residential satisfaction of households living in super-high rise apartment. The questionnarles were collected from 244 residents living in super-high rise apartment above 20 stories located in Ulsan. Used statistical techniques were frequency, one-way ANOVA. The major findings were as follows: 1) Although the respondents were dissatisfied with super-high rise apartments, they chose present dwelling due to public transportation, easy access to work, and other community facilities. 2) Households who have more educated husband and wife and younger child were less satisfied with current dwelling. 3) The attrative features of super-high rise apartment were interior facilities, exterior environment, and social relations, While the negative features were interior environment, safety, and psychological stability.

Promoting barrier-free living environments is necessary in residential facilities on which senior citizens rely most of their lives. Safety of elder people can be reassured by a certification system based on the existing barrier-free certification program in public facilities. The range of certification does not cover all living area, but is limited to the bathroom, which is a sanitary space. Given the nature of BIM modeling, an existing multi-family building was selected and modeled, as the certification process requires all the necessary information and various viewport. BIM modeling of the bathroom was conducted in accordance with the requirements of the certification for barrier-free living environment. The results suggested that there is a need for a removal of thresholds, larger doors, better selection of finishing materials, sufficient room for a wheelchair, larger space next to the toilet, and the availability of an emergency bell and grab bars. Such information supports the potentials of BIM modeling, and it is expected that an automated certification system would be established in the foreseeable future.

Along with the increasing number of disabled people, number of handicapped people who spends most of their time indoors increase. Their disabilities constrain them in social activities and bind them to indoors. But living environment built for normal people are many cases inevitably inconvenient for disabled people. People realizes that housing renovation is necessary, however problems such as financial difficulties must be solved in advance. House renovations, to create comfortable and independent living conditions for disabled people, various thesis and documents were analyzed, along with survey through questionnaire. Results are as following. (1) House renovation is necessary, due to the increasing number of disabled people and inconvenience of former house form. (2) Integrated or specialized house renovation manual is required to satisfy the different need derived from extent and type of disabilities. (3) Central and local government's policy for continued support is necessary. (4) House renovation plan for homeless disabled people is necessary. (5) Separate research on the size of space, type of space, efficiency is necessary. (6) Separate house renovation plan considering the people who lives with disabled people is required. (7) Disabilities are not personal but societal problem. This paper is to uncover all the problems in the house renovation for disabled people. It will be used to develop house renovation manual in the future. Therefore, this paper does not deal with the actual house renovation plans.

Nowadays living space has been small-sized due to a rise in the standard of living, change of recognition on the increase of housing for the singles, and frequent movements of duty place, etc. and the furnitures naturally evolved assembly and multi-functionality. However, it retuned with an economic charge in the consumers and lost the uniformity in a small-sized living space as well since the furniture depended on the each miscellaneous household goods or products and came to be used. Hereupon it was demanded the system where the various furnitures are to fit to here. This study aimed at this point firstly examined a new environment change which it follows till a small living space is demanded through lots of literature, after understanding the concept of the system furniture, I classified expressive types of system furniture in modern environment and analyzed the design quality and characteristics in it by selecting well-known furniture magazines inside and outside of the country and extracting and analyzing system furniture images which are recorded in advertisements or articles. The objective of this study is to present MMC(Multi Modular Coordination, a system furniture design based on this analysis that inquiring the problems with function, structure, assembly which other existing system furnitures are facing enabled to apply a basic data in unit-module planning and by sampling embodiment modeling by uses.

After the concept of apartments was introduced in 1960s in Korea, on account of the development of architectural technology and science, high-rise residences in Korea are getting higher, and these residences have been becoming high-rise commercial/residential buildings since 1990. Nowadays, as the construction of high-rise commercial residential building complex is booming, the difference between these complex and high-rise apartments is getting smaller, and these two kind of high-rise residences are becoming new residential style in Korea. And these high-rise residences are considered the symbol of wealth owing to the marketing strategy emphasizing high quality, refined interior, a fair view, and the protection of privacy. However, high-rise residences bring about many problems related to health and psychology caused by the consumption of a large amount of energy, pollutant emission, the deterioration of the quality of indoor air, and vibration. For this reason, in this study, we tried to emphasize the necessity of environment-friendly access to provide healthy living environment and to reduce the negative effect of housing life in high-rise residences, and find the method to improve environment-friendly quality and health of residents in interior space. Therefore, this study aims to detect the problems and the items to be improved of interior spaces of high-rise residences by quantitative, qualitative analysis of the evaluation elements and the floor planning elements deduced from environment-friendly architectural certification in Korea and the other countries, and suggest the guideline to improve the environment-friendly quality of these interior spaces.

Purpose: The objective of this study is to divide personal traits of the elderly living in a rural area into extraversion, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and loneliness and to identify the relationship between personal traits and receptivitiy to sharing living space in communal shared housing. Method: Subjects of this study are the elderly of ages greater than 55 living in Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do. Depending on how often elderly welfare facility was used, places where the elderly gathered were divided into a senior citizen center, senior welfare center, and other places where they often gathered. The researchers visited each of the places directly and conducted a survey with face-to-face interviews. Result: The collected data consisting of 124 respondents were analyzed through SPSS statistical program. It showed that 5 personal traits, except for agreeableness, had statistically significant difference. Extrovert and low lonely elderly people had high receptivity. The relationship between personal traits and acceptable shared space revealed differently depending on the function of space. Especially, shared resting space was related to low emotion-oriented trait, such as neuroticism and loneliness, while shared hobby and sanitary space were related to strong management-oriented trait of conscientiousness. These findings demonstrate the importance of understanding personal traits in predicting receptivitiy to sharing living space. Also, it is necessary to compare the degree of receptivity to sharing living space based on personal traits and to plan shared space in several levels, such as full sharing, partial sharing, and individual use, to develop and supply communal shared housing successfully.

'Ubiquitous' based on progressive development of IT technology is a new paradigm of the 21th century. In terms of rapid social and technological change, the architectural environment has been changed by computer networking system. According to the condition of the IT business, interior architectural space has been needed to consider applying IT technology for intelligent living environment. To develop the most appropriate architectural interior space applied by home network system, designers need to understand products of the home network system comprised by technical bases and classification of the system. This research is for introducing the information of the recent home network system, products and possible application of ubiquitous system for the future interior architectural space.
