A Study on the space organization of Korean-Chinese single family housing at the urban area in Liaoning Province, China (중국 요녕성 조선족 도시단독주택의 공간구성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the space organization of Korean-Chinese houses is different from that of other territories. The vast land of China, coming from different hometown in Korean peninsula, and the different hometown in Korean peninsula, and the different procedure of settlement seem to make the different space organization of Chinese-Korean single family housing at the urban area in Liaoning Province.The characteristics of the Korean-Chinese space organization of single family housing at the urban area in Liaoning Province are as follows;i)Three types of space organization are central kitchen type, central corridors types, and central living room type. ii)The central kitchen type is mainly in old urban housing, after 1980's, the central corridor type appears in single family housing, and central living room type appears 1990's.iii) It seems that the main reason to change the space organization are fuel, system of heating, influence of Korea housing. Especially, Korean-Chinese like central living room type that is suitable for sit down living style. This central living room type supposes to be used as popular space organization in urban housing.

A Study on Receptivity to Sharing Living Space in Communal Shared Housing of the Elderly Living in Rural Areas depending on Personal Traits

  • Purpose: The objective of this study is to divide personal traits of the elderly living in a rural area into extraversion, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and loneliness and to identify the relationship between personal traits and receptivitiy to sharing living space in communal shared housing. Method: Subjects of this study are the elderly of ages greater than 55 living in Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do. Depending on how often elderly welfare facility was used, places where the elderly gathered were divided into a senior citizen center, senior welfare center, and other places where they often gathered. The researchers visited each of the places directly and conducted a survey with face-to-face interviews. Result: The collected data consisting of 124 respondents were analyzed through SPSS statistical program. It showed that 5 personal traits, except for agreeableness, had statistically significant difference. Extrovert and low lonely elderly people had high receptivity. The relationship between personal traits and acceptable shared space revealed differently depending on the function of space. Especially, shared resting space was related to low emotion-oriented trait, such as neuroticism and loneliness, while shared hobby and sanitary space were related to strong management-oriented trait of conscientiousness. These findings demonstrate the importance of understanding personal traits in predicting receptivitiy to sharing living space. Also, it is necessary to compare the degree of receptivity to sharing living space based on personal traits and to plan shared space in several levels, such as full sharing, partial sharing, and individual use, to develop and supply communal shared housing successfully.

  • As a rapid supply of a culture facility the change of living style bring on needs about storage space in the residence space. This study choose Hong Je Dong-Byuk San 4 type apartment house which was built in 1990 as research target and we selected 4type of a total 12house and we choose LDK as a research target that is high in a requirement and utilization other space is excluded in this study. We can expect that the apartment house will be differed with area of living space of apartment house in the requirement of storage space. Small apartment house is requried various storage planning because of confined living space But big apartment houses required storage planning of simple type because it have already storage space. So we have to do efficiency storage planning because of limited space in the apartment house. Base on this results we will show storage space according to the type of pyeong. So this study show proper storage type according to the scale of apartment house,.

  • The purpose of the study was to identify the living pattern and the space use in Urban Houses, Seoul, Chunju, Ulsan were selected as study sites. The space organizing form and space use was investigated by means of interviews. Through various ways of analysis, we could find that the function of Anbang, Guesil, Buauk were multipurpose. Anbang was not only for sleeping but also for entertaining and family living. Guesil(living room) is slowly gearing into family and entertainment rooms. Buauk are changing to the dining room as well as kitchen.

  • Despite rapid social changes, there have been little distinctive or fast shifts in living space, and the kind of housing design that could address the diverse need of residents is required. In the future, complex trend that is built on a mix and match of different sorts of styles is expected to be in vogue. The introduction of natural elements and ornamental factors such as books, antiques and art works into living spaces that are artificial things is expected to contribute to helping people lead a richer and Individual life. This study attempted to present a housing design by instilling culture in an existing living space and making it fit into a new lifestyle. After the position of natural and ornamental components was fixed, a contemporary modern living space was designed, for which art works would become necessary and sufficient conditions. A plane figure of the new living space was offered, and then detailed design for each part was provided. Finally, a finalized design pattern that was suitable for the selected concept was presented.

Influential Factors on Size of Residential Space in Later Life (중년기 이후의 주거공간 규모에 영향을 미치는 특성)

  • This study has been performed to analyze size and deficit problem of residential space in later life. In this study, 216 Koreans aged 50 to 79 were surveyed for their current residential space ad family related items such as age, marital status, living arrangement, birth order, and housing status. The results are drawn as follows: 1. The space size significantly fluctuates by marital status, number of generations living together, tenure, and structure type; For example, use of indoor area per person ranges from 7.01 pyoung for three-generation households to 19.53 for one-generation households. 2. s for space deficit, very old widowed females, 60's living in rented or multi-family housing units, and those living in three generations are high risk groups of the space deficit below 7 young per person. In this study, further researches are recommended as follows; Regarding the highest risk group of space deficit, life styles causing space-related conflicts should be studied, and accordingly proper welfare services for the causal life styles be offered. Housing maintenance & utility costs be investigated and guidelines should be proposed for any surplus groups among the 60's, so that their space surplus can be reduced by suitable adjustment process.

  • This study has researched on the utilization of living space through interview with a owner of the MAN-CHUI-DANC. The aim of the study is to grasp-the resident living and dwelling ceremony through rites of passase of the MAN-CHUI-DANG among the upper class residence of Korean traditional house A result of this study , Korean traditional house have been so inhered multipurpositive and adaptability that dwelling living space for the rites of passage is always separation, transition, coordination as living aspect.

The Characteristics of Housing Environment of the Elderly in Apartment (공동주택 거주 노인의 주거환경 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study of elderly households living conditions to determine the overall status in the housing environment is to understand. To this end, the stage of elderly as a framework to target living consciousness, living space composition, housing Environment composition of elderly households with a comprehensive understanding and analyzes were employed. For this research is a survey conducted on senior citizens(over 60) in Busan, Korea. The major findings are as followings; In the living consciousness, the elderly households showed high perception of dependency but the age of the elderly increases, depends on the parent to the child. Also depending on the aging of the elderly considered health more important than economic conditions. The requirements for living space composition, most respondents prefer to stay in the same place where they currently reside. Move into the new housing was also identified. It was recognized that elderly households not only required living in co-residential space with their families, but also the necessity for individual space. The home environments composition, health care and social welfare support services appears overall the elderly of stage. The age of the elderly increases, a strong demand for care and support service were identified. Health activities in leisure and social activities and social activities, as age increased mainly done by the convenience of public transportation has been identified that are important.

The Resident Consciousness about Re-modeling Living Space (주거공간 개조실태와 주민의식)

  • The survey was conducted to analyze the consciousness of residents about the re-modeling living space. The results of this study are as following; 1) The most of respondents have answered very positively in the idea of re-modeling in the near future. Re-modeling will be done in the entire space of housing. 2) It is shown that the desire of re-modeling is various, for example, the higher desire of expansion is arisen by someone who has the smaller space. 3) There are some cases; such as the space of balcony is added to the living room to expand the space of living room or the space of balcony is added to the bed room to expand the space of bed room. In this cases there might be some needs in architect technique.
