  • In 2020, the unexpected pandemic scenario has led to a downfall of live concerts performances, after the government restriction for events and gatherings with a large number of people. The Korean-Pop (K-Pop) group BTS (Bangtan sonyeondan) also had their concert tour canceled in 2020. Therefore, the group came up with an innovative project to the music market, called "BangBangCon: The Live", a live streaming paid concert held by the group, on June 14th, which achieved a Guinness World Record for most viewers during a paid music concert, in a live streaming format. It's important, then, to study this event, and initiate a debate about alternative ideas for marketing strategies with live streaming music performances. The method to accomplish this research was desk research, analysing all the communication delivered from BTS, studying the website and platform where the event "BangBangCon: The Live'' was held, and researching about the results the event has achieved. The results were the description of the event as a project, informing how many people have attended the event, and what were the marketing strategies that made it possible to become the highest audience to a paid live streaming concert, until the moment this article was published.

  • The recent surge in live streaming has also changed the market for classical performing arts. Now more than just recording live performances, content specific to live streaming platforms is being produced, and live streaming is emerging as a new alternative to promoting and enjoying classical performances. Therefore, this study empirically analyzed the effect of service quality factors of the classical live streaming performance on the viewer satisfaction and the purchase intention of the on-site performance over the data collected from 198 viewers. Results suggest that, among the service quality factors of the classic live streaming performance, video content, convenience, and price, except for real-time interaction, affected the viewer satisfaction, and viewer satisfaction in turn affected the purchase intention of the on-site performance. Thus the publicity effect of live streaming for classical performing arts seemed to be proved.

  • With the advance of ICT technology, E-Commerce is getting popular and used widely in daily life. Nowaday's commercial videos are also being used extensively to introduce commercial products to consumers. Most commercial companies are advertising their products on the internet with images and videos through online sharing sites. Putting pre-recorded videos online is easy, but it is difficult for sellers to interact with customers. Live Streaming is the transmission of digital content directly to the Internet in real time. Although there are many services available that provide live streaming on the internet, most are limited in the content they transmit. Building live streaming servers using open source projects will help users master the content which conveys to their customers. In this paper, we will consider implementation of Live Streaming Server for Video Commerce using Open Source.

In this paper, we present a DLS (Distributed Live Streaming) package which support l:N multimedia live streaming in a distributed environment. Also, it has extended RMI which is a distributed object technology and JMF using multimedia transmission/processing. A java-based DLS package has been designed to separate a transmission and a control for more efficient distributed processing. It is possible to apply in development of multimedia service supported 1:N transmission and runned independently to any platform.

  • This study introduces an effective marketing strategy for fashion SMEs and small designer brands utilizing Instagram as a social networking platform. The research compared the impact of two information delivery types (native advertisements vs. live streaming after native ads) and two types of promotional messages (scarcity vs. price discount) on SNS consumption value, and product attitude toward fashion designer brands. The study involved surveying 251 Korean women aged 25-55 with experience in buying designer products and using SNS. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 26.0 and Process Macro v3.5. Results indicated that both native advertisements and live streaming enhance economic and social values in SNS consumption. Live streaming with price discount messages generates higher perceived SNS consumption values compared to scarcity messages. Consumers showed a more favorable attitude toward designer brand products when watching the live streaming of price discount messages rather than scarcity messages. The findings emphasize that the broadcast host actively induced participation to reveal viewers' social presence through comments or emphasized discount messages such as ultra-special prices during live streaming on Instagram.

  • This paper presents an implementation of a live audio streaming system using the Raspberry Pi 3 embedded computer. This system is a live streaming system not file-based streaming. This is a push streaming system which converts the incoming analog audio signal to digital samples and broadcasts them to multiple connected users concurrently. Since the server software is developed in Java language, it can be installed on any other embedded computers without any modification. We concluded that ESCatcher can service live streaming about 60 users concurrently through calculations and experiments, And also we achieved the delay time of a little bit more than 40ms between arrival of audio source and play on the android device.

  • A growing number of fashion brands and retailers are actively adopting live streaming as a new marketing channel. In spite of the increasing use of live commerce, the effects of live streaming commerce on customer purchasing behavior for fashion products are not fully understood. The purpose of this study is to examine factors affecting consumers' attitudes toward a purchase via fashion live streaming commerce (FLSC) and intention to use FLSC. The study also investigated whether consumers' expenditure on fashion and time spent on mobile shopping moderate the relationships among research variables. A total of 230 questionnaires were analyzed through descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, and multiple-group comparison tests using SPSS and AMOS. A summary of the main results of this study is as follows. First, the perception of the attributes of FLSC (ease of use, economic efficiency, interactivity, and enjoyment) has a positive effect on attitude toward a purchase via FLSC. The ease of use and economic efficiency of FLSC, in particular, have greater impacts on attitudes than other factors. Secondly, attitudes toward FLSC positively impact the intention to use FLSC. Lastly, the results of group comparisons, by fashion expenditure and time spent on mobile shopping respectively, hold no significant moderation effects among the variables. These findings demonstrate that consumers are more likely to use FLSC as they form a positive attitude by the attributes of FLSC mentioned earlier. The study provides some insights on an exploration of live streaming commerce for fashion product sales.

  • This study identified consumers' shopping behavior in live streaming commerce. To this end, this study put the uncertainty issue of live shopping and the transfer of trust at the center of the discussion. The verification of the research model resulted in the following conclusions. First, reduced uncertainty in live shopping was a factor in increasing the level of involvement and attachment in the service. These results showed that resolving uncertainty in newly introduced services is a key factor in determining users' positive attitudes. Second, the trust in shopping sites influenced the current live shopping attitude. This is because the transfer of trust is also valid in live shopping, which demonstrated the importance of building trust. Third, this study proposed and validated a research model that could systematically understand the consumption process of live streaming shopping. Furthermore, this study provides a beneficial implication for those who want to use live shopping in practice.
