Methods : Studies and reports from the literature, Korean medical health insurance data and databases were searched and selected. Results : The depth of needle insertion for acupoints related to intraperitoneal acupuncture has been documented to range from 0.9 to 10.5 cm depending on the acupoints and literature. In studies of safe needling depth, the justice of safe needling depth varied from study to study, but was generally based on the peritoneum, and the depth varies by patient age, sex, body type, and weight. Clinical studies in China have shown good efficacy and no side effects of abdominal long needle acupuncture, but there have been case reports of adverse events following abdominal acupuncture. Conclusions : To ensure both therapeutic effectiveness and safety of intraperitoneal acupuncture, It is necessary to utilize the ultrasound in clinical practice and conduct related research.

  • Objectives: To investigate therapeutic mechanisms of Gyejibokryeong-hwan (GJBRH) against gynaecological diseases, articles on biological assay were gathered and analyzed. Methods: The articles were classified as being from domestic or international journals, and by their year of publication. The mechanisms of the biological effects against gynaecological diseases were noted. Results: Of the 14 articles analyzed, 13 were published in China and 1 was from Japan. GJBRH showed therapeutic effect against uterine and mammary gland diseases. Uterine-related diseases such as endometriosis, hysteromyoma, adenomyosis, cancer, and inflammation can be improved by the administration of GJBRH through anti-angiogenesis, anti-inflammation, the modulation of immune cell and immunoglobulin, and the regulation of hormone secretion. GJBRH also reduced mammary hyperplasia by regulating hormone and cytokine release. Conclusions: We speculate that the inhibitory effect against uterine and mammary gland diseases could be related to the therapeutic efficacy of GJBRH in improving gynaecological diseases.

  • Purpose. This study was done to identify and test a model of the psychosocial variables that influence adherence to therapeutic regimens in patients with hypertension. Method. A convenience sample of 219 patients with hypertension who were enrolled in an outpatient clinic of a cardiovascular center in Korea participated in the study. They completed self-administered questionnaires anonymously. The questionnaire was based on the Social Action Theory model and a literature review. The explanatory model was constructed and tested using structural equation modeling in order to examine the effects within the model. Results. The results of this study showed that perceived self-efficacy was the strongest factor influencing patient adherence in this sample. Adherence to therapeutic regimens in patients with hypertension was influenced by self-efficacy, patient-provider relationship, social support, and depression. Conclusions. Adherence to therapeutic regimens in patients with hypertension was most strongly influenced by self-efficacy. These findings suggest that nursing interventions to promote patient adherence should focus on the promotion of self-efficacy including improvement in patient-provider relationship and social support, and reduction in depression.

  • In this study, Emotion-DNA is constructed in the same way asthat the human DNA constructs the human body. Emotion-DNA is copied and translated in the same way as that the human DNA copies and translates itself. We made an attempt to embody the mind by Emotion-DNA like the symbols "A, T, G, C, U" that make up the chromosome of the human body. This is a diagram of the flow of emotions that the human body operates by literary works. These schemes present new directions for the therapeutic analysis of literary works and for the creation of therapeutic literary works. In this study, we analyzed the nominal Emotion-syllables as a framework of the structuring of emotional DNA. As a result, through the structuring of the emotional DNA, it was judged that the therapeutic action of the human body, which is included in the Rated Sijo among the literary works, can be more concrete and powerful than the works of other genres.

Each poem in the poetry book has a well-organized flow. While those poems are mixed, it can be synapsed into the cognitive system of readers by their taste in the form of introduction, development, turn, and conclusion.' The poetry book is structured with the transition of literary treatment. Such transition structure is embodied in a circle. If poetic contents are positive and creative in such transitive structure, it gives more comfort and excitement to readers increasing therapeutic effect. Therefore, it is very important to progress literatherapy narrative with such creative works.

The oriental therapeutic menu was developed on the basis of literature of oriental medicine books and research papers. The developed two week cycle of menus were then reviewed by the experts and specialists. The sensory evaluation and nutritional analysis of the menu were followed. The stroke patients who participated in the survey did not know about the oriental medical diet, however, 61.6% of the patients had interest. Most of the patients expected the efficacy of oriental therapeutic diets. Total of forty three medical herbs and ten herb-combined prescriptions were used in the menu.
