  • Reliable $H_2$ supply is necessary for entering a $H_2$ society. Among the various $H_2$ storage and transportation methods, liquid organic $H_2$ carrier (LOHC) is in the spotlight because of a lot of advantages compared to conventional one such as compressed $H_2$ and liquefied $H_2$. Therefore, we performed preliminary economic analysis of $H_2$ supply cost using LOHC for a $H_2$ production capacity of $300Nm^3\;h^{-1}$ employing itemized cost estimation and sensitivity analysis to evaluate economic viability of this technology in Korea.

  • In this study, economic analysis program was developed for economic evaluation of hydrogen production, storage/delivery, and utilization technologies as well as overseas import of hydrogen. Economic analysis program can be used for the estimation of the levelized cost of hydrogen for hydrogen supply chain technologies. This program include five hydrogen production technology on steam methane reforming and water electrolysis, two hydrogen storage technologies (high compressed gas and liquid hydrogen storage), three hydrogen delivery technologies (compressed gas delivery using tube trailer, liquid hydrogen, and pipeline transportation) and six hydrogen utilization technologies on hydrogen refueling station and stationary fuel cell system. In the case of overseas import hydrogen, it was considered to be imported from five countries (Austraila, Chile, India, Morocco, and UAE), and the transportation methods was based on liquid hydrogen, ammonia, and liquid organic hydrogen carrier. Economic analysis program that was developed in this study can be expected to utilize for planning a detailed implementation methods and hydrogen supply strategies for the hydrogen economy road map of government.

고체상 수소저장기술 동향 (Review : Hydrogen Storage in Solid State)

  • Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe. Although hydrogen can produce three times more energy than gasoline and seven times than coal, the most challenging problem in utilizing hydrogen as energy carrier is its storage problem. In contrast to the liquid hydrocarbon, hydrogen can not be stored or transported easily and safely because of its extremely low boiling point(21K). Recently scientists have made a tremendous achievement in storing hydrogen capacity in solid state materials such as carbon based and metal organic frameworks materials as well as metal hydrides. In this review the author reviewed the status of the hydrogen storage technologies in solid state, the advantages and disadvantages in each category of materials and the future prospects of hydrogen storage.

  • 강화되는 환경규제에 대응하기 위해서 세계 각국이 수소 경제로의 전환을 본격화하고 있으며, 이에 중장기적으로 수소의 국가간 물동량도 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 국가간 수소의 거래는 수출국의 신재생 에너지 자원과 수입국의 수소 사용 형태, 기술 성숙도 등을 고려하여 암모니아, 액화수소, LOHC 등의 형태로 이루어질 것이나, 어느 한 가지 형태로만 거래되지는 않을 것이다. 액화수소 대비 암모니아와 LOHC의 해상운송은 상대적으로 성숙한 기술임에 본 글에서는 향후 액화수소 운반선 개발을 위하여 필요한 세부 기술들의 식별 및 다양한 기술적 대안들을 통해 가능한 설계안을 확보하면서, 그에 따른 기술적 타당성을 분석하였다.
