The infrared spectra were determined to discover the characteristics and properties of poff-, PV-, and cc-samples, and studied influence on the formation of mesophase or liquid crystal. The experimental results were as follows; a) Samples with long aliphatic side chain appear cracking texture on temperature forming liquid crystal. b) The fine isotropic microstructure appears in a heterogeneous material containing sulfur, 7.18 w%. c) In the size of molecular weight the lighter than 500 form liquid crystal. d) When poff-sample was treated at $400^{\circ}C$ aliphatic hydrocabon compounds decrease, presented well-oriented bulk liquid crystal.

The effects of Au addition on the structure and the superconducting properties of Bi system bulk have been investigated. Au exists in the metalic form in above materials. It does not affect the formation and structure of the BiSrCaCuO(2223) phase. The superconducting transition temperature Tc does not change for $Bi_{1.7}Pb_{0.3}Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3O$ composite However Au doping can make the grains smaller. Metallic Au can make gathers on the grains boundary and lead to the increment of critical transport current density. The current density of $Bi_{1.7}Pb_{0.3}Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3Au_{0.5}O$ was 1000A/$cm^2$ at liquid nitrogen temperature.

This paper deals with a prediction method for the condensation of ternary refrigerant mixture inside a horizontal smooth tube. Based on some reliable assumptions, the governing equations for the local heat and mass transfer characteristics are derived, and the prediction for the condensation of ternary zeotropic refrigerant mixtures composed of HFC32/HFC125/HFC134a, including R407C, is carried out. The local values of vapor quality, thermodynamic states at bulk vapor, vapor-liquid interface and bulk liquid, mass flux etc. are obtained for a constant wall temperature and a constant wall heat flux conditions, and the effects of the composition of HFC32/HFC125/HFC134a on heat transfer characteristics are examined. The prediction result is also compared with experimental data for condensation of ternary refrigerant mixtures. The predicted wall temperature distribution has a similar trend with experimental data but the predicted local heat transfer coefficients are 20-30% higher than the experimental data.

Formation of an icosahedral phase in the bulk glass forming $Ti_{40}Zr_{29}Be_{14}Cu_9Ni_8$ alloy during crystallization from amorphous phase and solidification from melt is investigated. The icosahedral phase with a size of 10 to 15 nm forms as a thermodynamically stable phase at intermediate temperature during the transformation from amorphous to crystalline phases such as Laves and ${\beta}$-(Ti-Zr) phases, indicating that the existence of the icosahedral cluster in the undercooled liquid. On the other hand, the icosahedral phase forms as a primary solidification phase even though the Laves phase is stable at high temperature, which is can be explained based on the high nucleation rate of icosahedral phase relative to that of competing crystalline Laves phase due to lower interfacial energy between icosahedral and liquid phases.
Bulk metallic glasses(BMG) with good mechanical properties have problems that engineering application fields have been limited because of limitation of the alloy size. In order to solving this problem, the friction welding of BMG has been tried using the superplastic-like deformation behavior under the supercooled liquid region. The apparatus for friction welding test was designed and constructed using pneumatic cylinder and gripper based on a conventional lathe. Friction welding have been tried to combination of same BMG alloy and crystalline alloys. The results of welding test were evaluated by X-ray diffraction, measurement of hardness and mechanical properties test. In order to obtain the optimized welding test conditions the temperature of friction interface was measured using Infrared thermal imager.
The new Cu-Zr-Ti-Ni-Pd amorphous alloy system has been introduced and manufactured using melt-spinning and Cu-mold die casting methods. Amorphous formability, the supercooled liquid region before crystallization and mechanical properties of the alloys were examined. The reduced glass transition temperature(Trg = Tg/Tm) and the supercooled liquid region(${\Delta}$Tx = Tx-Tg) of $Cu_{49}Zr_{30}Ti_{10}Ni_5Pb_6$ alloy were 0.620 and 57 K respectively. $Cu_{49}Zr_{30}Ti_{10}Ni_5Pb_6$ amorphous alloy was produced in the rod shape with 2mm diameter using the Cu-mold die casting. The hardness value of the amorphous bulk alloy was 432 DPN.
Microforming can be a good application for bulk metallic glasses. It is important to simulate the deformation behaviour of the bulk metallic glasses in a supercooled liquid region for manufacturing micromachine parts. For these purposes, a correct constitutive model which can reproduce viscosity results is essential for good predicting capability. In this paper, we studied deformation behaviour of the bulk metallic glasses using the finite element method in conjunction with the fictive stress constitutive model which can describe non-Newtonian as well as Newtonian behaviour. A combination of kinetic equation which describes the mechanical response of the bulk metallic glasses at a given temperature and evolution equations fur internal variables provide the constitutive equation of the fictive stress model. The internal variables are associated with fictive stress and relation time. The model has a modular structure and can be adjusted to describe a particular type of microforming process. Implementation of the model into the MARC software has shown its versatility and good predictive capability.

The correlation between crystallization and deformation behavior in the supercooled liquid region (SLR) of a $Cu_{54}Ni_{6}Zr_{22}Ti_{18}$ bulk metallic glass (BMG) alloy is investigated by compression tests, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), electron energy loss spectrometry (EELS) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). In the SLR, This BMG alloy was strongly depended on the deformation temperature and the alloy exhibits important change in deformation behavior after a given time which is directly connected to the development of crystallization. Compressive stress impeded decomposition and consequently retarded forming of nano-crystal, which led to enlarge the homogeneous deformation region of the BMG alloy in SLR during compression test.
Mechanical and thermomechanical properties of the bulk metallic glass (BMG) are so unique that the deformation behavior is largely dependent on the temperature and the strain rate. Impacting behavior of NiTiZrSiSn bulk metallic glass powder during kinetic spraying was investigated in this study. Considering the impact behavior of the BMG, the kinetic spraying system was modified and attached the powder preheating system to make the transition from the inhomogeneous deformation to the homogeneous deformation of impacting BMG particle easy BMG splat formation is considered from the viewpoint of the adiabatic shear instability. It is suggested that the impact behavior of bulk metallic glass particle is determined by the competition between fracture and deformation. The bonding of the impacting NiTiZrSiSn bulk amorphous particle was primarily caused by the temperature-dependent deformation and fracture (local liquid formation) behavior.

Deformation behavior of $Zr_{55}Cu_{30}Al_{10}Ni_5$ (at. %) bulk metallic glass (BMG) fabricated by suction casting method has been investigated at elevated temperatures in this study. The BMG was first verified to have an amorphous structure thru X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). A series of compression tests has consequently been performed in supercooled liquid temperature region to investigate the high temperature deformation behavior. A transition from Newtonian to non-Newtonian flow appeared to take place depending upon both the strain rate and test temperature. A processing map based on a dynamic materials model has been constructed to estimate a feasible forming condition for this BMG alloy.
