Utility Interactive Solar Power Conditioner with Zero Voltage Soft Switching High frequency Sinewave Modulated Inverter Link

  • The utility interactive sinewave modulated inverter for the solar photovoltaic (PV) power conversion and conditioning with a new high frequency pulse modulated link is presented for domestic residential applications. As compared with the conventional full-bridge hard switching PWM inverter with a high frequency AC link, the simplest single-ended quasi-resonant soft switching sinewave modulated inverter with a duty cycle pulse control is implemented, resulting in size and weight reduction and low-cost. This paper presents a prototype circuit of the single-ended zero voltage soft switching sinewave inverter for solar power conditioner and its operating principle. In addition, this paper proposes a control system to deliver high quality output current. Major design of each component and the power loss analysis under actual power processing is also discussed from an experimental point of view. A newly developed interactive sinewave power processor which has $92.5\%$ efficiencty at 4kW output is demonstrated. It is designed 540mm-300mm-125mm in size, and 20kg in weight.

전자상거래 시스템의 트래픽량 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Traffic Volume Prediction for e-Commerce Systems)

  • 네트워크 기반의 적절한 컴퓨팅은 네트워크 대역폭의 가용성에 의존한다. 백본 네트워크 용량과 액세스 네트워크 상에 심각한 버틀넥이 발생하여 ISP 사업자와 고객 간의 갭이 발생된다면 그만큼 ISP 사업자는 사업에 불이익을 초래할 수 있다. 이러한 상황이 발생되기 이전 ISP 사업자가 트래픽량 예측과 종단간 오버로드가 높은 링크 구간을 감지할 수 있다면 ISP 사업자와 고객 간의 갭은 그만큼 줄어 들 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 본 논문은 트래픽량 예측과 종단간 오버로드가 높은 링크 구간을 감지 가능한 소프트웨어로 ACE, ADM, Flow Analysis를 소개한다. 이들 툴을 이용하여 전자상거래의 연속적인 트랜잭션을 실망에서 측정한 후 측정된 네트워크 데이터를 가상 망 환경에 임포트하고 백그라운드 트래픽을 생성한다. 이와 같은 가상 망 환경을 토대로 점차적인 사용자 수 증가에 따른 트래픽량 예측과 링크 로드가 높은 구간을 시뮬레이션 결과로 알 수 있었다.

텔레메트리 로켓 탑재 안테나의 회선 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Link Analysis of Telemetry Rocket-borne Antenna)

  • PCM/FM과 같은 디지털 변조 방식의 텔레메트리 시스템에 있어서 비트 에러율(BER)을 최소화하여 수신된 신호의 품질을 향상시키기 위해서는 충분히 안정된 신호마진을 갖도록 회선설계가 이루어져야 한다. 특히 고속으로 이동하는 비행체의 경우에는 비행체 자세에 따른 송수신 안테나 사이의 안테나 이득패턴의 변화와 비행거리에 따른 손실이 동반되어지며 이로 인해서 회선상의 요동이 발생된다. 본 논문에서는 2002년 11월에 한국항공 우주연구원에서 시험 발사되었던 국내 최초 액체로켓 KSR-III의 비행시험 중에 S-대역 지상국에서 측정된 텔레메트리 신호의 신호대잡음비(SNR) 변화와 로켓의 비행 궤적 및 롤, 피치, 요 등의 자세변화를 고려하여 시뮬레이션으로 계산된 결과를 비교 분석하였으며 이를 통해 회선마진의 변화가 잘 일치함을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 탑재 안테나 개수가 1개인 경우와 롤 변화가 없는 가상의 비행 상황에 대해서 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 회선 변화를 예측할 수 있었다.

유동인구 밀집지역 인근의 도로구간별 배출량 산정 및 보행자 노출 강도 평가 (Estimation of Link-Based Traffic-Related Air Pollutant Emissions and the Exposure Intensity on Pedestrian Near Busy Streets)

  • The objective of this study is to estimate the level of exposure of traffic-related air pollutants (TRAPs) on the pedestrians in Seoul area. The road network's link-based pollutant emission was calculated by using a set of mobile source emission factor package and associated activity information. The population information, which is the number of pedestrian, was analyzed in conjunction with the link-based traffic emissions in order to quantify exposure level by selected 23 spots. We proposed the Exposure Intensity, which is defined by the amount of traffic emission and the population, to quantify the probability of exposure of pedestrian. Link-based traffic NOx and PM emissions vary by up to four times depending on the location of each spot. The Hot-spots is estimated to be around 1.8 times higher Exposure Intensity than the average of the 23 selected spots. The information of Exposure Intensity of each spot allows us to develop localized policies for air quality and health. Even in the same area, the Exposure Intensity over time also shows a large fluctuation, which gives suggestions for establishing site-specific counter-measures.

군 MicroWave 통신 환경에서의 링크 거리를 고려한 전송 성능 향상 기법 (Improving Transmission in Association with the Distance for Military Microwave Communications)

  • 군의 MicroWave 통신 환경에서 회선 설계를 위해 링크거리, 가용도, 전송용량은 중요한 요소이다. 현재 고정용 변조방식으로 운용, 미래 전송용량 증대가 가능한 변조방식으로 진화될 예정이다. 링크 거리에 따라 페이딩 발생확률의 증가로 장거리의 경우 고신뢰의 전송품질을 지속적으로 보장하기 어려울 수 있다. 대용량 전송을 위한 변조방식의 경우 장거리가 될수록 링크버짓에서 페이드 마진의 저하로 가용도가 감소되어 QoS 보장에 있어 제한사항이 발생할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 군 MicroWave 무선 링크에서의 링크거리를 고려한 대역폭 가변 할당 및 우선순위 전송 용량 비율 설정을 이용한 우선순위 전송 기법을 통해 무선 전송 성능 향상기법을 제안하고 링크 설계를 위한 채널 전송 용량 산출방안을 제시한다.

초협대역 영상전송 전투무선망을 위한 Mobile Ad-hoc Network 프로토콜 연구 (A Study of Mobile Ad-hoc Network Protocols for Ultra Narrowband Video Streaming over Tactical Combat Radio Networks)

  • Video is principal information that facilitates commander's immediate command decision. Due to fading characteristics of radio link, however, it is difficult to stably transmit video in a multi-hop wireless environment. In this paper, we propose a MANET structure composed of a link adaptive routing protocol and a TDMA MAC protocol to stably transmit video traffic in a ultra-narrowband video streaming network. The routing protocol can adapt to link state change and select a stable route. The TDMA protocol enables collision-free video transmission to a destination using multi-hop dynamic resource allocation. As a result of simulation, the proposed MANET structure shows better video transmission performance than proposed MANET structure without link quality adaption, AODV with CSMA/CA, and OLSR with CSMA/CA structures.

A Reporting Interval Adaptive, Sensor Control Platform for Energy-saving Data Gathering in Wireless Sensor Networks

  • Due to the application-specific nature of wireless sensor networks, the sensitivity to such a requirement as data reporting interval varies according to the type of application. Such considerations require an application-specific, parameter tuning paradigm allowing us to maximize energy conservation prolonging the operational network lifetime. In this paper, we propose a reporting interval adaptive, sensor control platform for energy-saving data gathering in wireless sensor networks. The ultimate goal is to extend the network lifetime by providing sensors with high adaptability to application-dependent or time-varying, reporting interval requirements. The proposed sensor control platform is based upon a two phase clustering (TPC) scheme which constructs two types of links within each cluster - namely, direct link and relay link. The direct links are used for control and time-critical, sensed data forwarding while the relay links are used only for multi-hop data reporting. Sensors opportunistically use the energy-saving relay link depending on the user reporting, interval constraint. We present factors that should be considered in deciding the total number of relay links and how sensors are scheduled for sensed data forwarding within a cluster for a given reporting interval and link quality. Simulation and implementation studies demonstrate that the proposed sensor control platform can help individual sensors save a significant amount of energy in reporting data, particularly in dense sensor networks. Such saving can be realized by the adaptability of the sensor to the reporting interval requirements.

Research on Relay Selection Technology Based on Regular Hexagon Region Segmentation in C-V2X

  • Traffic safety and congestion are becoming more and more serious, especially the frequent occurrence of traffic accidents, which have caused great casualties and economic losses. Cellular Vehicle to Everything (C-V2X) can assist in safe driving and improve traffic efficiency through real-time information sharing and communication between vehicles. All vehicles communicate directly with Base Stations (BS), which will increase the base station load. And when the communicating vehicles are too far apart, too fast or there are obstacles in the communication path, the communication link can be unstable or even interrupted. Therefore, choosing an effective and reliable multi-hop relay-assisted Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) communication can not only reduce the base station load and improve the system throughput but also expand the base station coverage and improve the communication quality of edge vehicles. Therefore, a communication area division scheme based on regular hexagon segmentation technology is proposed, a relay-assisted V2V communication mechanism is designed for the divided communication areas, and an efficient communication link is constructed by selecting the best relay node. Simulation results show that the scheme can improve the throughput of the system by nearly 55% and enhance the robustness of the V2V communication link.

The effect of cycle tourism on the quality of life

  • Today, the population of cycle participants is consistently increasing. Cycling is becoming not only a form of physical exercise but also a form of tourism in which cycle activities are related to visiting a particular destination. With the perspective of participation sport tourism, the purpose of this study is to investigate how the level of cycle tourists' participation affects their quality of life. An online survey link was sent to cycle participants to collect data. Out of the total 337 respondents, a total of 226 samples were used for the final analysis, disregarding those that were found to be inadequate or unreliable. For data analysis, frequency analysis, reliability test, validity, correlations, and regressions were employed with SPSS 22.0. For our first result, we found that the level of cycle participation did not significantly affect the quality of physical life. Second, the level of cycle participation did not have significant effect on the quality of mental life. Third, the level of cycle participation behavior did not have a significant effect on the quality of social life. Fourth, the level of cycle participation behavior did not have a significant effect on the quality of environmental life. Conclusions and political implications are discussed.

IoT 환경에서 수직 핸드오버를 활용한 효율적인 패킷 전송 (Efficient Packet Transmission Utilizing Vertical Handover in IoT Environment)

  • 최근 주목 받고 있는 사물인터넷(Internet of Things)환경에서는 와이파이와 블루투스 같은 다양한 무선 표준들이 공존한다. 이러한 사물인터넷(IoT) 환경에서는 이종 무선 통신망 간의 핸드오버를 통하여 보다 안정적이고 효율적인 패킷 전송이 가능하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 사물인터넷 환경에서 다양한 무선표준과 통신프로토콜을 지원하는 IoT 브로커를 이용하여 와이파이와 블루투스 사이의 이종망 간 수직 핸드오버(Vertical handover) 시스템을 구현하였다. 핸드오버 시점 결정을 위하여 블루투스 프로토콜 스택(BlueZ)에서 제공하는 함수를 이용한 LQ(Link Quality)및 RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication)측정 실험과 리눅스에서 제공하는 네트워크 정보를 활용한 사용자의 실시간 트래픽 측정 실험을 통해 최적의 Threshold값을 선정하였다. 실제 하드웨어를 사용한 실험을 통해 제안 방법이 에너지 효율을 향상시키고 QoS(Quality of Service)를 보장할 수 있음을 확인하였다.
