  • In this paper, a new type of predistortion linearizer has been studied. It employs a series feedback amplifier with a large source inductance as a predistortion linearizer, which provides positive amplitude and negative phase deviations for input Power and can compensate for AM-AM and AM-PM distortions of power amplifier. This predistortion lineariaer consists of only one CaAs FET, large source inductor, input output matching networks and bias circuits. Because of its simple circuit, the linear can be operated over a broad bandwidth and has good thermal stability The characteristics of this linearizer can be easily tuned using source inductor, its gate bias condition. In fabricated linearizer, the third-order intermodulation distortion(IMD) for main amplifier alone is 10.61dBc, and the $IM_3$ for main amplifier with predistorter is 21.91dBc. Therefore, the $IM_3$ characteristic results an improvement of approximately 11dB.

  • In this paper, an observer-based intelligent controller for the nonlinear networked control systems with packet loss is proposed for wireless sensor network. For the intelligent control of the nonlinear system, it uses the fuzzy system with Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The observer is designed for the fuzzy networked control system, and the output feedback controller is proposed for the stability of estimates and errors. The stability condition of the closed-loop system with the proposed controller is represented to the linear matrix inequality (LMI) form, and the observer and control gain are obtained by LMI. An example is given to show the verification discussed throughout the paper.

  • As the usage of image/video contents increase, a security problem for the payed image data or the ones requiring confidentiality is raised. This paper proposed an image encryption methodology to hide the image information. The target data of it is the result from quantization in wavelet domain. This method encrypts only part of the image data rather than the whole data of the original image, in which three types of data selection methodologies were involved. First, by using the fact that the wavelet transform decomposes the original image into frequency sub-bands, only some of the frequency sub-bands were included in encryption to make the resulting image unrecognizable. In the data to represent each pixel, only MSBs were taken for encryption. Finally, pixels to be encrypted in a specific sub-band were selected randomly by using LFSR(Linear Feedback Shift Register). Part of the key for encryption was used for the seed value of LFSR and in selecting the parallel output bits of the LFSR for random selection so that the strength of encryption algorithm increased. The experiments have been performed with the proposed methods implemented in software for about 500 images, from which the result showed that only about 1/1000 amount of data to the original image can obtain the encryption effect not to recognize the original image. Consequently, we are sure that the proposed are efficient image encryption methods to acquire the high encryption effect with small amount of encryption. Also, in this paper, several encryption scheme according to the selection of the sub-bands and the number of bits from LFSR outputs for pixel selection have been proposed, and it has been shown that there exits a relation of trade-off between the execution time and the effect of the encryption. It means that the proposed methods can be selectively used according to the application areas. Also, because the proposed methods are performed in the application layer, they are expected to be a good solution for the end-to-end security problem, which is appearing as one of the important problems in the networks with both wired and wireless sections.

  • A novel instrumentation amplifier(IA) using positive polarity current-conveyor(CCII+) for electronic measurement systems with low cost, wideband, and gain control with wide range is designed. The IA consists of two CCII+, three resistor, and an operational amplifier(op-amp). The principal of the operating is that the difference of two input voltages applied into two CCII+ used voltage and current follower converts into same currents, and then these current drive resistor of (+) terminal and feedback resistor of op-amp to obtain output voltage. To verify operating principal of the IA, we designed the CCII+ and used commercial op-amp LF356. Simulation results show that voltage follower used CCII+ has offset voltage of 0.21mV at linear range of ${\pm}$4V. The IA had wide gain range from -20dB to 60dB by variation of only one resistor and -3dB frequency for the gain of 60dB was 400kHz. The IA also has merits without matching of external resistor and controllable offset voltage using the other resistor. The power dissipation of the IA is 130mW at supply voltage of ${\pm}$5V.

  • In this paper, a couple of 4-channel differential transimpedance amplifier arrays are realized in a standard 0.18um CMOS technology for the applications of linear LADAR(laser detection and ranging) systems. Each array targets 1.25-Gb/s operations, where the current-mode chip consists of current-mirror input stage, a single-to-differential amplifier, and an output buffer. The input stage exploits the local feedback current-mirror configuration for low input resistance and low noise characteristics. Measurements demonstrate that each channel achieves $69-dB{\Omega}$ transimpedance gain, 2.2-GHz bandwidth, 21.5-pA/sqrt(Hz) average noise current spectral density (corresponding to the optical sensitivity of -20.5-dBm), and the 4-channel total power dissipation of 147.6-mW from a single 1.8-V supply. The measured eye-diagrams confirms wide and clear eye-openings for 1.25-Gb/s operations. Meanwhile, the voltage-mode chip consists of inverter input stage for low noise characteristics, a single-to-differential amplifier, and an output buffer. Test chips reveal that each channel achieves $73-dB{\Omega}$ transimpedance gain, 1.1-GHz bandwidth, 13.2-pA/sqrt(Hz) average noise current spectral density (corresponding to the optical sensitivity of -22.8-dBm), and the 4-channel total power dissipation of 138.4-mW from a single 1.8-V supply. The measured eye-diagrams confirms wide and clear eye-openings for 1.25-Gb/s operations.
