  • To compensate location error of ultrasonic horn, the laser scanning system based on the galvanometer scanner is developed. It consists of the 3-Axis linear stage and the 2-Axis galvanometer scanner. To measure surface shape of three-dimensional free form surface, the dynamic focusing unit is adopted, which can maintain consistent focal plane. With combining the linear stage and the galvanometer scanner, the scanning area is enlarged. The scanning CAD system is developed by stage motion teaching and NURBS method. The laser scanning system is tested by marking experiment with the semi-cylindrical sample. Scanning accuracy is investigated by measured laser marked line width with various scanning speed.

  • In recent years, as the demands of VBNS(Very high speed Backbone Network Service) and VDSL(Very high-data rate Digital Subscriber Line) increase, the development of kernel parts of optical communication such as PLC(Planar Light Circuit), Coupler, WDM elements increase. The alignment and the attachment technology are very important to fabricate the optical elements for communication. In this paper, the mechanism of rotational stage, the contact sensing unit, and integrated control circuit for the optical alignment system are studied.

워엄 스크루 가공용 사이드 밀링의 공구 간섭 시뮬레이션 (The Cutting Tool-workpiece Interference Simulation for Worm Screw Machining by Side Milling)

  • A worm screw is widely used in a geared motor unit for motion conversion from rotation to linear. For mass production of a high quality worm, the current rolling process is substituted with the milling process. Since the milling process enables the integration of all operations of worm manufacturing on a CNC(Computer Numerical Control) lathe, productivity can be remarkably improved. In this study, the tooling system for side milling on a CNC lathe to improve machinability is developed. However, the cutting tool-workpiece interference is important factors to be considered for producing high quality worms. For adaptability of various worms machining, the tool-workpiece interference simulation system based on a tool-tip trajectory model is developed. The developed simulation system is verified through several kinds of worms and experimental results.

  • With conventional positioning apparatus, it is very difficult to simultaneously achieve the desired driving range and precision at the sub-micrometer level. Generally, lead screw and friction drive, etc., have been used as servo control systems. These have large driving ranges, and high-speed positioning is feasible. In this study, we present a global servo system controlled by a laser interferometer acting as a displacement measurement sensor for achieving positioning accuracy at the sub-micrometer level.

  • In this paper describes the design and characteristic analysis of a novel 2-DOF(Degree of Freedom) motor. For multi DOF actuating, several numbers of motors have been used. But the using of normal motors they connected each other in single joint, have necessary to a several type of complex power transmission devices. The 2-DOF motor can drive pan, tilt motion in only one unit and it is not necessary to use additional gears and links parts. Therefore by the using of 2-DOF spherical motor ran eliminate; combined effects of inertia, backlash, non-linear friction, and elastic deformation of gears. The validity of the analysis is confirmed by 3D finite element method.

인공 종양대치물을 이용한 사지구제술후의 보행 분석 (Gait Analysis of Patients with Tumor Prosthesis around the Knee)

  • Prosthetic replacement is one of the most common methods of reconstruction after resection of malignant tumor around the knee. Gait analysis provides a relative objective data about the gait function of patients with prosthesis. The purpose of this study was to compare the gait pattern of the patients who underwent limb salvage surgery with prosthesis for distal femur and that of patients with prosthesis for proximal tibia. This study included ten patients (4 males, 6 females, mean age 22.7 years, range 14-36) who underwent a wide resection and Kotz hinged modular reconstruction prosthesis replacement and six normal adult(Control). The site of bone tumor was the distal femur (Group 1) in six patients and proximal tibia (Group 2) in 4 patients. The follow-up period ranged from 15 to 82 months (mean : 33 months). The evaluation consisted of clinical assessment, radiographic assessment, gait analysis using VICON 370 Motion Analysis System. The gait analysis included the linear parameters such as, walking velocity, cadence, step length, stride length, stance time, swing time, single support and double support time and the three-dimensional kinematics (joint rotation angle, velocity of joint rotation) of ankle, knee, hip and pelvis in sagittal, coronal and transverse plane. For the kinetic evaluation, the moment of force (unit: Nm/kg) and power (unit: Watt/kg) of ankle, knee and hip joint in sagittal, coronal and transverse plane. In the linear parameters, cadence, velocity, step time and single support were decreased in both group 1 and group 2 compared with control. Double support decreased in group 2 compared with control significantly(p<.05). In contrast to our hypothesis, there was no significant difference between group 1 and group 2. 얼굴 표정 데이터의 최적의 가시화를 위한 선형 및 비선형 투영 기법의 비교 분석 (Comparative Analysis of Linear and Nonlinear Projection Techniques for the Best Visualization of Facial Expression Data)

  • 본 논문은 고차원 얼굴 모션 캡처 데이터를 선형 및 비선형 투영 기법에 각각 적용하고, 이를 2차원 평면으로 투영하기 위한 최적의 방법론에 대한 것이다. 본 방법의 핵심 요소는 프레임 단위의 고차원 얼굴 표정 데이터를 선형 투영 기법인 PCA와 비선형 투영 기법인 Isomap, MDS, CCA, Sammon's Mapping, LLE 등에 적용하고 이를 저차원 공간에 분포시키는 방법론 및 그 결과를 비교 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해서는 먼저 기존의 고차원 얼굴 표정 프레임 데이터들 사이의 거리를 구하고, 선형 및 비선형 투영 기법들을 적용한 상태에서 기존의 데이터들 사이의 거리 관계를 유지하면서 저차원인 2차원 평면 공간에 분포시키는 것이다. 그리고 2차원 공간에 분포된 얼굴 표정 데이터가 원형 데이터와 비교 했을 때, 최적의 상태로 프레임 데이터들 사이의 거리 관계를 유지하고 있는 투영 기법을 찾는다. 결국 본 논문에서는 고차원 얼굴 표정 데이터를 저차원 공간에 투영하기 위한 선형 및 비선형 투영 기법들을 비교 분석하고, 각각에서 최적의 투영 기법을 찾아낸다.

Performance Analysis Model for Flap Actuation System using MATLAB/Simulink

  • In this paper, we present some results on performance analysis for flap actuation system of aircraft. For this, by utilizing MATLAB/Simulink solution, which is widely used physical model-based design tool, we particularly construct the architecture of the analysis model consisting of the main three phases: 1)commanding and outer-controlling the flap angle through flight control computer; 2)generating hydraulic/mechanical power through control module and power drive unit; 3)transmitting torque and actuating the flap through torque tube and rotary geared actuators. For mimicking the motion of the actual flap, we apply each mechanical component, which is already being used in actual aircraft, to our performance analysis model so that it guarantees the congruency of the simulation results. That is, we reflect the actual specifications of flap hardware and software as parameters of the model. Finally, simulation results are presented to illustrate the model.
