레이저 소결 적층 시스템을 이용한 3차원 수산화인회석 인공지지체 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fabrication of 3D Hydroxyapatite Scaffolds Using a Laser Sintering Deposition System)

  • Calcium-phosphate-based bioceramics are promising biomaterials for scaffolds because they can assist in bone regeneration. In this study, a laser sintering deposition system was developed, and 3D hydroxyapatite (HA) scaffolds were fabricated. The main process conditions of the HA scaffolds were laser power, table velocity, and laser focal distance. As the laser power increased, the line width, line height, and layer thickness also increased. Further, the line width, line height, and layer thickness decreased as the table velocity increased. As the laser focal distance increased, the line width increased, but the line height and layer thickness decreased. The fabricated green scaffolds were sintered at 1050 ℃ and 1150 ℃. The sintered scaffolds had a uniform and continuous interconnected shape, with pore sizes ranging from 850 to 950 ㎛ having 53% porosity. The compressive strength of the scaffolds decreased from 0.72 MPa (1050 ℃) to 0.53 MPa (1150 ℃). The biocompatibility of the scaffolds was investigated by analyzing the adhesion of osteoblast-like MG-63 cells cultured on the surfaces of the scaffolds. The results indicate that the scaffold sintered at 1050 ℃ had good mechanical and biological properties compared to that at 1150 ℃.

  • A vision sensor measure range data using laser light source. This sensor generally use patterned laser which shaped single line. But this vision sensor cannot satisfy new trend which feeds foster and more precise processing. The sensor's sampling rate increases as reduced image processing time. However, the sampling rate can not over 30fps, because a camera has mechanical sampling limit. If we use multi line laser pattern, we will measure multi range data in one image. In the case of using same sampling rate camera, number of 2D range data profile in one second is directly proportional to laser line's number. For example, the vision sensor using 5 laser lines can sample 150 profiles per second in best condition.

Frequency Characteristics of Surface Wave Generated by Single-Line Pulsed Laser Beam with Two Kinds of Spatial Energy Profile Models: Gaussian and Square-Like

  • Using a single-line pulsed laser beam is well known as a useful noncontact method to generate a directional surface acoustic wave. In this method, different laser beam energy profiles produce different waveforms and frequency characteristics. In this paper, we considered two typical kinds of laser beam energy profiles, Gaussian and square-like, to find out a difference in the frequency characteristics. To achieve this, mathematical models were proposed first for Gaussian laser beam profile and square-like respectively, both of which depended on the laser beam width. To verify the theoretical models, experimental setups with a cylindrical lens and a line-slit mask were respectively designed to produce a line laser beam with Gaussian spatial energy profile and square-like. The frequency responses of the theoretical models showed good agreement with experimental results in terms of the existence of harmonic frequency components and the shift of the first peak frequencies to low.

INVAR 마스크 응용 반도체 기판 소재의 고체 UV 레이저 프로젝션 어블레이션 (DPSS UV Laser Projection Ablation of IC Substrates using an INVAR Mask)

  • Due to the fact that the dimensions of circuit lines of IC substrates have been forecast to reduce rapidly, engraving the circuit line patterns with laser has emerged as a promising alternative. To engrave circuit line patterns in an IC substrate, we used a projection ablation technique in which a metal (INVAR) mask and a DPSS UV laser instead of an excimer laser are used. Results showed that the circuit line patterns engraved in the IC substrate have a width of about 15um and a depth of $13{\mu}m$. This indicates that the projection ablation with a metal mask and a DPSS UV laser could feasibly replace the semi-additive process (SAP).

초극박재 냉연코일의 연속조업을 위한 Laser Line Welder (Laser Line Welder for Continuous Operation of Cold-rolled Steel Coil)

  • A laser line welder using a solid-state laser (Yb:YAG) has been manufactured for joining ultra-thin cold-rolled steel coils in steelworks. The coils to be welded primarily range from 0.15 to 0.3 mm in thickness and 800 to 1,100 mm in width. Because the steel plate is extremely thin, it is very important to control the stop positions of the clamp at cutting and welding points. In this study, both hydraulic proportional control valves and LVDT sensor embedded cylinders were used to precisely control and monitor the positions of clamps with complementary stoppers. As a result, the positions could be controlled within an error of ${\pm}30{\mu}m$. Erichsen cupping tests on the welded joints show that the Erichsen index ranges from 4.4 to 4.6 mm. Furthermore, the tensile strength of welding points is comparable to that of the base metal.

Downward and Upward Air Flow Effects on Fume Particle Dispersion in Laser Line Cutting of Optical Plastic Films

  • In improving laser cutting of optical plastic films for mass production of optoelectronics display units, it is important to understand particle contamination over optical film surface due to fume particle generation and dispersion. This numerical study investigates the effects of downward and upward air flow motions on fume particle dispersion around laser cut line. The simulations employ random particle sampling of up to one million fume particles by probabilistic distributions of particle size, ejection velocity and angle, and fume particle dispersion and surface landing are predicted using Basset-Boussinesq-Oseen model of low Reynolds number flows. The numerical results show that downward air flow scatters fume particles of a certain size range farther away from laser cut line and aggravate surface contamination. However, upward air flow pushes fume particles of this size range back toward laser cut line or sucks them up with rising air motion, thus significantly alleviating surface contamination.

UV 레이저 미세 가공공정에서의 물 액적 렌즈 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on Water Droplet Lens Effect of UV Laser Micromachining Process)

  • Recently UV laser micromachining processes is widely introduced to meet the needs of advanced components of IT, BT and ET industries. Due to the characteristics of non-contact and high-speed laser processing, UV laser micromachining is applied to manufacture very thin substrate such as polymer, metals and composite. These minimum line width obtained by UV laser micromachining is generally determined from laser wavelength, optical lens and its numerical aperture. In this paper we will show the lens effect of water droplet on the surface of workpiece to reduce the line width when UV laser light is irradiated and focused through the water droplet. Because of the refraction effect generated by the semi-spherical or spherical shape of water droplet, we can find smaller line width. And water droplet could not only protect thermal deformation, but also carry away burr around micro dent. Firstly fundamental theory of minimum line width was derived from relationship between the geometry of water droplet and laser light trace, and then experimental and simulation results will be finally compared to verify the effectiveness of water droplet lens effect of UV laser micromachining process.

라인레이저를 이용한 3D 모델 추출 방법 (3D Extraction Method Using a Low Cost Line Laser)

  • In this paper, we proposed a three-dimensional(3D) scanning system based on laser vision technique for 3D model reconstruction. The proposed scanning system consists of line laser, camera, and turntable. We implemented the 3D scanning system using low quality elements. Although these are low quality elements, we reduced the 3D data reconstruction errors greatly using two methods. First, we developed a maximum brightness detection algorithm. This algorithm extracts the maximum brightness of the line laser to obtain the shape of the object. Second, we designed a new laser control device. This device helps to adjust the relative position of the turntable and line laser. These two methods greatly reduce the measuring noise. As a result, point cloud data can be obtained without complicated calculations.
