An automatic transfer line consists of several stages(groups of stations) in series into one system by a common transfer mechanism and a common control system. In this system losses of the efficiency are evidenced in periods where a stage is forcod down- starved or blocked. The efficiency of an automatic transfer line can be improved by providing buffer storages between a stage or the length of line common senses there are several critical factors, system configurations relative position, and buffer capacity allocations in automatic transfer line are considered with a point of view production rates, average stock, and mean delay. The propose of this paper is to provide the robust designs by Taguchi method which improve the efficiency of four-stage transfer line.

Pedestrian movement of passengers using smart card within stations can be divided into three types of activities - straight ride and alight, line transfer, and station transfer. Straight ride and alight is transfer activity for which the card terminal and embarking line are identical. In this case, straight ride occurs at the origin station and straight alight occurs at the destination station. Line transfer refers to activity in which the subway line embarked on by the passenger is different from that which is disembarked. Succinctly, line transfer is transfer at a middle station, rather than at origin or destination stations. Station transfer occurs when the card terminal line and embarking line are different. It appears when station transfer happens at the origin station as starting transfer, and at the destination station as destination transfer. In the case of Metropolitan smart card data, origin and destination station card terminal line number data is recorded, but subway line data does not exist. Consequently, transportation card data, as it exists, cannot adequately be used to analyze pedestrian movement as a whole in subway stations. This research uses the smart card data, with its constraints, to propose an analysis model for passenger pedestrian movement within subway stations. To achieve this, a path selection model is constructed, which links origin and destination stations, and then applied for analysis. Finally, a case study of the metropolitan subway is undertaken and pedestrian volume analyzed.

In this study, a model of pneumatic cylinder position control system considering dynamic characteristics of transmission line is proposed. The transfer characteristics of transmission line are assumed to be second order transfer function because the effect of resonance characteristics of transmission line under high frequency range can be neglected by the friction force and low pass characteristics of the pneumatic cylinder driving system. Therefore, the position control system including transmission line can be modeled by using a model of pneumatic cylinder driving system and the model of transmission line. The effectiveness of the proposed model is proved by comparison of simulation results using proposed model with experimental results.

As the high-speed data communications such as xDSL using the existing copper cable come into wide use, the electromagnetic coupling characteristics of telecommunication cables become more significant. In order to describe the screening performance of telecommunication cable, the transfer impedance of cable shield is required. This paper describes the transfer impedance for two types of telecommunication cables using the line injection method of IEC 96-1. Results are analyzed to show how the materials of cable shields, the positioning of the injection line and of the inner conductor of the CUT(Cable Under Test) affect the value of transfer impedance. We then propose the transfer impedance model of telecommunication cable based on the measurements.

In general, transfer in subway stations is defined as transfer between lines and station transfer. In transfer between lines, passengers change from one subway line to another by utilizing horizontal pedestrian facilities such as transfer passages and pedestrian way. Station transfer appears in the situation that subway lines of enter and exit gate terminals differs from those of boarding and alighting trains and passenger trips utilize both vertical pedestrian facilities such as stair and escalator and horizontal facilities. The hypothesis on these two transfers presupposes that all subway lines are operated by either local train or express in subway network. This means that in a transfer case both local and express trains are operated in the same subway line, as a case of Seoul Metro Line 9, has not been studied. This research proposes a methodology of finding the same line transfer in the Seoul metropolitan subway network built based on the smart card network data by suggesting expanded network concept and a model that passengers choose a theirs minimum time routes.

The On-line Electric Vehicle (OLEV) is an electric transport system in which the vehicle's power is transferred wirelessly from power lines underneath the surface of the road. Advantages of the OLEV include reducing battery size and cost to about 20 percent of that of conventional battery-powered electric vehicles, thereby minimizing the vehicle's weight and price, as well as the cost of charging the system. In this paper, we introduce a wireless power transfer mechanism to maximize the electrical performance of the power transfer system. Power transfer capacity, power transfer efficiency, and magnitude of leakage in the electromagnetic field (EMF) are analyzed, and the optimization methodology of the design parameters is discussed.
In this study, a linearized model of pneumatic cylinder position control system including transmission line is proposed. The transmission line using compressible fluid has a nonlinear transfer characteristics because that the frequency response of it is changed by the flowing state of the fluid. But, when the pressure difference between both sides of transmission line is low, the effect of resonance characteristics of it under high frequency range can be neglected because of the friction force and low pass characteristics of the position control system. Therefore, the transmission line can be modeled by second order transfer function and the natural frequency, damping ratio and gain are changed by the diameter and length of it. The effectiveness of the proposed model is proved by comparison of simulation results using proposed model with experimental results and simulation results using conventional model.

In order to measure the transfer characteristic(S21) of the impedance transformer, two impedance transformers must be symmetrically connected. However, the transfer characteristic of two symmetrically connected impedance transformers is influenced by the length of the intermediate connection line. This paper theoretically examines closely the length of the intermediate connection line to obtain the accurate transfer characteristic of the impedance transformer. The electrical length of the intermediate connection line for obtaining the accurate transfer characteristic of the 4:1(50-Ω:12.5-Ω) impedance transformer is calculated about 45°. Using the calculated length of the connection line, The λ/4-microstrip impedance transformer is fabricated at 1 GHz to measure the transfer characteristic. The symmetrically connected impedance transformer is measured the reflection characteristic(S11) of -40.64dB and the transfer characteristic(S21) of -0.154dB at 0.980GHz. This value is approximately equal to the theoretical calculated 987MHz center frequency and -0.15dB transfer loss value of the λ/4-microstrip impedance transformer.
The measurement of OTF(optical transfer function) is used for evalution of imaging performance of optical system as a standard method. In the mass-production, the contrast measurement of projected patterns is also popular because of its simplicity. In this study, a computer program which evaluates the CTF(contrast transfer function) of optical system for periodic line-space patterns is developed by using the diffraction imaging theory. The MTF(modulation transfer function) and CTF of an aberrated system are evaluated and analyzed for the third order aberrations expressed by the C-coefficients and the Zemike polynomials.
Although the transferring is one of the most important factors in urban railways, there is very little analytic research in the transfer-related field. This paper analyses the transfer rate of urban railways in the Seoul Metropolitan Area and the actual passenger boardings and alightings at transfer stations using the AFC(Automatic Fare Collector) O/D data collected doling Sep. 2000. According to the results of this study the transfer rate is 0.657, which is calculated from the transfer hoardings/initial boardings. And the actual ridership of Subway Line 2 and Line 5 are different from the data which was provided by the AFC.
