  • Purpose In the current environment of online shopping, the cost for consumers to obtain the information they need is decreasing, and the price of products is becoming more transparent, leading to increased price competition among enterprises for similar products. Given the widespread usage of limited-time promotion as a marketing method for enterprises in the context of e-commerce, it is great meaning to study and reveal the internal influence mechanism of limited-time promotion on consumers' impulsive consumption. Design/methodology/approach Based on the S-O-R theory, this study constructs a model of consumers' impulsive consumption in the context of e-commerce from the perspective of perceived price discount, with evoking sense and pleasure as mediating variables and perceived time pressure as moderating variables. Findings The results show that perceived price discount has a significant positive impact on evoking sense and pleasure. Evoking sense has a significant positive impact on pleasure. Both evoking sense and pleasure have a significant positive impact on consumers' impulsive consumption. Meanwhile, perceived time pressure plays a significant moderating role between perceived price discount and evoking sense, between perceived price discount and pleasure, and between evoking sense and consumers' impulsive consumption. Finally, based on the above findings, this study provides effective suggestions for e-commerce participants in the formulation of limited-time promotion strategies.

  • According to the lack of specific research on small business, this study analyzed the effects of a limited edition marketing strategy in a small business, whereas many previous studies focused only on large businesses. The test was performed by releasing and selling a limited edition (LE) product of a small brand with annual sales of about $10,000, for a limited time (one week), alongside social network advertising on Instagram. As this strategy resulted in a 10 times increase in sales from the previous year, the author concluded that a limited edition marketing campaign can significantly improve brand awareness and increase sales in a small independent business as well as larger businesses.

  • 2D sliced CT images hardly express the human disease in a space. This space expression can be reconstructed into 3D image by piling up the CT sliced image in succession. In medical image, in order to get the reconstructed 3D images, expensive system or much calculation time is needed. But by changing the method of reconstruction procedure and limit the range, the reconstruction time could be reduced. In this study, to reduce the processing time and memory, we suggested a method of interpolation and ray casting processing at the same time in a limited range. Such a limited range processing have advantages that we could reduce the unnecessary interpolation and ray casting. Through a experiment, it is founded that the reconstruction time and the memory was much reduced.

  • Many indexing methods were proposed so that process moving object efficiently. Among them, indexing methods like the 3D R-tree treat temporal and spatial domain as the same. Actually, however. both domain had better process separately because of difference in character and unit. Especially in this paper we deal with limited region such as indoor environment since spatial domain is limited but temporal domain is grown. In this paper we present a novel indexing structure, namely STS-tree(Separation of Time and Space tree). based on limited region. STS-tree is a hybrid tree structure which consists of R-tree and one-dimensional TB-tree. The R-tree component indexes static object and spatial information such as topography of the space. The TB-tree component indexes moving object and temporal information.

  • This paper compares the performances with space time coding and cyclic delay diversity techniques for OFDM systems in interference-limited environments. While a communication system usually use a diversity technique to improve its own performance, it is also necessary to consider the interference effects to other users as well if the system is operated in interference-limited environments. When there is no interference from or to other users, space time coding technique results in better performance than cyclic delay diversity. However, cyclic delay diversity can be better than space time coding if interferences to other users are considered.

  • This study aimed to identify messages that induce positive product attitudes and purchase intentions among luxury consumers in online luxury sales. Message types elicited from luxury products were classified as quantity-limited, time-limited, sustainability, and personalization. A total of 150 participants were recruited through a Google survey, and all respondents were randomly assigned to respond to one of five stimuli (quantity-limited, time-limited, sustainability, personalization, and control). Participants were informed that they would be engaging in luxury online shopping and read a description about it. Results showed that message attitude, product attitude, and purchase intention were positively formed with the quantity-limited and personalization message types. Furthermore, we discovered the underlying mechanism for quantity-limited and personalization messages increasing favorable message attitudes and it affected the product attitude. Finally, it increased the purchase intention of the product. By confirming purchase intentions according to message types for luxury brands, we have expanded the scope of advertising research to include online luxury sales platforms. Since luxury online shopping is inevitable, this study suggests that the effective use of message types such as quantitylimited and personalization would improve online sales.

  • Negative bias temperature instability (NBTI) and positive bias temperature instability (PBTI) are critical circuit reliability issues in highly scaled CMOS technologies. In this paper, we analyze the impacts of NBTI and PBTI on SRAM $V_{MIN}$, and present a design solution for mitigating the impact of NBTI and PBTI on SRAM $V_{MIN}$. Two different types of SRAM $V_{MIN}$ (SNM-limited $V_{MIN}$ and time-limited $V_{MIN}$) are explained. Simulation results show that SNM-limited $V_{MIN}$ is more sensitive to NBTI while time-limited $V_{MIN}$ is more prone to suffer from PBTI effect. The proposed NBTI/PBTI-aware control of wordline pulse width and woldline voltage improves cell stability, and mitigates the $V_{MIN}$ degradation induced by NBTI/PBTI.

  • Work environments have been changed with the advent of new technologies, such as computer technology. However, human cognitive limits can't pace up with the change of work environment. Designing human-computer system requires knowledge and evaluation of the human cognitive processes which control information flow workload. Futhermore, under limited reaction time and/or urgent situation, human operator may the work stress, work error and resultant deleterious work environment. This paper evaluate the visual factors of major information processing factors(information density, amount of information, operational speed of speed)on operator performance of supervisory control under urgent(limited reaction time)environments which require deleterious work condition. To describe the work performance int the urgent work situations with time stress and dynamic event occurrence, a new concept of information density was introduced. For a series of experiments performed for this study, three independent variables(information amount, system proceeding speed, information density) were evaluated using five dependent variables. The result of statistical analyses indicate that the amount of information affected on all of five dependent measure. Number of failure and number of secondary task score were influenced by both amount of information and operational speed of system. However reaction time of secondary task were affected by both amount of information and information density. As a result, the deleterious factors for the performances seemed to be a scanning time to supervise each control panel. Consequently, a new display panel was suggest to reduce operator work load for scanning task showing better operator performance.

  • A numerical trajectory planning method for path-constrained trajectory planning is proposed which ensures collision-free and time-optimal motions for two robotic manipulators with limited actuator torques and velocities. For each robot, physical constraints of the robots such as limited torques or limited rotational velocities of the actuators are converted to the constraints on velocity and acceleration along the path, which is described by a scalar variable denoting the traveled distance from starting point. Collision region is determined on the coordination space according to the kinematic structures and the geometry of the paths of the robots. An Extended Coordination Space is then constructed` an element of the space determines the postures and the velocities of the robots, and all the constraints described before are transformed to some constraints on the behaviour of the coordination-velocity curves in the space. A dynamic programming technique is them provided with on the discretized Extended Coordination Space to derive a collision-free and time-optimal trajectory pair. Numerical example is included.

  • In this research, we develop and suggest branch and bound algorithms for a two-machine permutation flowshop scheduling problem with the objective of minimizing makespan. In this scheduling problem, after each job is operated on the machine 1 (first machine), the job has to start its second operation on machine 2 (second machine) within its corresponding limited waiting time. In addition, each job has its corresponding ready time at the machine 1. For this scheduling problem, we develop various dominance properties and three lower bounding schemes, which are used for the suggested branch and bound algorithm. In the results of computational tests, the branch and bound algorithms with dominance properties and lower bounding schemes, which are suggested in this paper, can give optimal solution within shorter CPU times than the branch and bound algorithms without those. Therefore, we can say that the suggested dominance properties and lower bounding schemes are efficient.
