운방전에 의해 발생한 전자장 펄스의 통계적 특성 (Statistical Characteristics of the Electromagnetic Pulses Radiated from Intracloud Discharges)

  • 본 연구에서는 뇌전자장 펄스에 관한 상세한 정보를 얻기 위한 목적으로 운방전에 의해서 방사되는 전자파 펄스를 측정하고, 이의 특성과 파라미터를 통계적으로 분석하였다. 운방전에 의해서 방사된 전자파 펄스는 낙뢰에 의한 것과는 확연하게 달랐으며, 후속 스토로크로 갈수록 주 방전에 의한 양방성 전자파 펄스의 영점교차시간과 펄스폭은 짧게 나타났다. 또한 주 방전에 의한 양방성 전자파 펄스의 파두부분에는 좁고 빠른 리더펄스가 중첩되어 나타났으며, 이 중첩된 리더펄스의 평균 개수는 정극성에서 61$\pm$0.74, 부극성에서 1.75$\pm$0.73이었다.

  • In this paper statistics on the radiation field waveforms produced by stepped leaders just prior to lightning return strokes were described. As a parameter of stepped leader pulse characteristics, the time interval between the final leader pulse and return stroke peak, the pause time between stepped leaders, the ratio of the final leader peak to the return stroke peak and the stepped leader pulse width at half maximum were examined. The average time intervals between the final leader pulse and return stroke peak were about 16.2 and 14.8$mutextrm{s}$ for the positive and negative polarities, respectively. When the stepped leader approaches closely to ground, the time interval between leader steps was decreased and the mean value was about 17$mutextrm{s}$, and the present results were in reasonable agreement with the data observed in Florida and Japan. The large fraction of the ratios of the final stepped leader pulse to the lightning return stroke peak were distributed over the range from 5 to 35% and in average the ratio of the final leader pulse to the return stroke peak was 17.4$\pm$11.9% for the positive and 18.5$\pm$9.4% for the negative electric field waveforms. In addition, the mean pulse widths at half maximum of the stepped leaders are 1.4Us with a standard deviation of 0.9 for the positive Polarity and 2.2us with a standard deviation of 1.2 for the negative polarity, respectively.

The Field of Power/Ground Planes influenced by the HPEM Source, and its Damage Reduction

  • This paper looks into the field inside the wide rectangular box structure that is excited by the High Power Electromagnetic(HPEM) source as a potential threat to electric grid and communication networks causing malfunction or destruction. The rectangular box is assumed power/ground planes and its internal field is calculated by the cavity model with the lightning strike excitation as an HPEM pulse. The accuracy of the calculation method employed here is validated through a $156mm{\times}106mm{\times}508{\mu}m$ parallel metallic plate case which is manufactured and tested, and is applied to the size of a building. With the help of the cavity model that takes into account loading, the level of the electric field is shown to decrease when a metal pillar is loaded between the power and ground planes.

  • 본 논문은 운방전에 의해서 방사된 전자계 펄스의 특징과 통계에 관한 것으로 LabVIEW 기반의 시변성 자계측정시스템을 구성하였다. 이 자계측정시스템의 주파수대역은 $300[Hz}{\sim}1[MHz]$이고, 응답감도는 2.78[mV/nT]이며, 검출된 자계 파형의 기록에는 수직해상도와 최대기록시간이 각각 12비트와 100[ms]인 데이터취득시스템이 적용하였다. 운방전에 의해서 발생한 전자계 펄스는 파두부분에 하나 또는 둘 이상의 빠른 펄스가 중첩된 양방성 파형으로 나타났다. 운방전의 평균지속시간은 약 $1.05{\pm}0.32[ms]$이었으며, 평균 8개의 양방성 펄스가 발생하였다.

  • In this work, in order to obtain the detailed information about lightning electromagnetic pulses, the electric fields radiated from multiple lightning return strokes were measured and analyzed statistically. The electric field measuring system consists of a hemisphere antenna of 30cm in diameter, integrator and data acquisition device, and its frequency bandwidth ranges from 200Hz to 1.56MHz, and the sensitivity is 0.96㎷/V/m. The electric field signals are digitized every 200ns with the transient signal analyzer having the resolution of 12-bit and the recording length of 5 kilowords and are registered at personal computer. As a result, the electric fields produced by the first return stroke begin with a slow initial part or front, which starts just after or during the last stepped leader. On the average the rise times of the electric fields for the positive first, second and third strokes are 4.21${\mu}\textrm{s}$, 3.94${\mu}\textrm{s}$ and 2.75${\mu}\textrm{s}$, respectively, and those for the negative first, second and third strokes are 3.46${\mu}\textrm{s}$, 3.15${\mu}\textrm{s}$ and 2.79${\mu}\textrm{s}$, respectively. The zero-crossing times of the electric fields for first return strokes range from about 10 to 80${\mu}\textrm{s}$. The mean zero-crossing times for subsequent return strokes are shorter than those for first lightning return strokes.

  • A reliable voltage measurement system is necessary to monitor status of power facilities in substations, which is easy to set up and is not influenced by electromagnetic interference in and around substation. In this paper, we described a voltage measurement system (VMS) which is composed of a capacitive voltage probe, an impedance converter, and an optical linker. To get a wide-band characteristic of the VMS, a high speed impedance converter was used, and the output impedance of the VMS was set at $50{\Omega}$ to match any types of observing instruments. The frequency bandwidth of the VMS. which was estimated by a step pulse, was ranges from 11.42 Hz to 13.65 MHz, and the VMS showed a good response characteristic in a high frequency domain such as impulse voltages as well as a commercial frequency voltage.

HEMP 상황 하 전술기동무선통신체계 안테나 유도전압 측정 및 분석 (Measurement and Analysis of Antenna Induced Voltage for Tactical Mobile Wireless Communication System under HEMP Environment)

  • 고고도 전자기 펄스(HEMP)의 상황은 고고도 핵폭발로 인해 발생한다. HEMP상황은 위협 레벨 조사(TLI)를 통해 HEMP 상황을 시뮬레이션 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 전술기동무선통신체계의 안테나 종류에 따른 유도 전압을 위협 레벨 조사로 측정 및 분석 하였다. HEMP의 영향을 받으면 전자 장비가 마비되거나 손상 될 수 있다. HEMP 방호 필터는 전원선 및 신호선용으로 상용화되어 있다. 그러나 안테나용 HEMP 필터는 상용화가 부족한 편이며 존재하더라도 낙뢰보호용으로 제작되어 있다. 안테나의 주파수와 종류에 따라 적절한 HEMP 방호 필터를 만들기 위해 유도 전압을 측정하고 외삽법을 통해 최대 유도 전압을 분석하였다. 측정 결과 HF, VHF, UHF 대역과 같이 주파수가 증가할수록 측정된 유도전압은 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.
