인삼의 생육시기와 재식위치에 따른 엽록소 형광반응 및 광합성 특성 (Effects of Chlorophyll Fluorescence and Photosynthesis Characteristics by Planting Positions and Growth Stage in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer)

  • As cool-season plant, Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer is planted under shade-installation with tall front and low rear. However, at different planting positions, distinct differences come out because ginseng grows at the same position within 3~5 years and the growth circumstance changes a lot by the shade-installation. So, in this study, changes of temperature, photosynthesis and chlorophyll fluorescence with varieties of shading material and planting position were investigated. Light transmittances by polyethylene shade net and silver-coated shading plate as planting materials were measured according to different planting positions. Photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll fluorescence were measured by LI-6400-40 (Li-Cor). According to different planting positions, light intensity was higher in silver-coated shading plate than in polyethylene shade net, and higher at front than rear. Also, photosynthetic rate showed the same tendency, which had a positive correlation to light intensity. But this treatment caused a lower Fo compared with polyethylene shade net because of the stress by light and temperature. Also, Fv/Fm and ETR were higher in silver-coated shading plate. Fo was similar at front and rear according to silver-coated shading plate and ETR was higher at front.

수경재배 식물공장에서 다양한 보광 LED가 시금치의 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Supplemental Green LEDs to Red and Blue Light on the Growth, Yield and Quality of Hydroponic Cultivated Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) in Plant Factory)

  • 본 연구는 폐쇄형 식물공장에서 시금치 수경재배시 세가지의 인공광이 생육, 광합성 및 품질에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위해 수행되었다. 세가지 광 처리구는 적색 (660nm), 청색 (450nm) 및 녹색 (550nm) LED를 사용하여, R660 / B450 = 4/1 (RBL), R660 / B450 / G550 = 5/2/3 (WWL); R660 / B450 / G550 = 1/1/1 (WL) 비율로 혼합하였고, 동일한 광도로 설정하였다 (PPFD = 190 μmol·m-2·s-1). 생육조사결과 초장, 엽수는 WL이 가장 적었다. SPAD, 순광합성율, Fv/Fm, LAI, 근권부 생육은 RBL이 가장 높았고 통계적으로 유의하였다. 줄기, 잎, 뿌리의 생체중, 뿌리의 건물 중은 세가지 처리구에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 대조적으로 WL의 칼륨의 함량은 WWL과 RBL 가운데 가장 높았지만, 반면 칼륨과 철의 함량은 RBL이 가장 높았다. 비타민C 함량도 시험구간 유의한 차이를 보였다. 질소와 옥살산 함량은 WL이 가장 높았고, 용해성 고체와 비타민C 함량은 RBL이 가장 높았다. 옥살산, 질소 함량은 WWL에서 감소하는 경향을 보였고, RBL의 옥살산 함량은 WL와 WWL과 차이가 없었다. 모든 처리구에서 Salmonella, E.coli.는 감염되지 않았다. 결론적으로, RBL이 시금치의 생육에 적합하지만, 적색, 청색과 적정하게 혼합된 녹색광은 시금치의 생육에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 판단된다.

밀폐형 식물생산시스템에서 인공광원과 광조사 시간에 따른 상추의 생장 및 안토시아닌 함량 (Growth and Anthocyanin Content of Lettuce as Affected by Artificial Light Source and Photoperiod in a Closed-type Plant Production System)

  • 본 실험은 밀폐형 식물생산시스템에서 인공광원과 광조사 시간에 따른 잎상추 '선홍적축면' 품종의 적정 생육 조건을 구명하고자 수행하였다. 상추 유묘를 3종류의 인공광원인 형광등과 에프씨 포이베(사)와 헤파스(사)의 백색 LED 아래에서 재배하였고, 광조사 시간을 각각 12/12, 18/6, 24/0(명기/암기)으로 처리하였다. 광파장대를 측정한 결과 형광등은 400-700nm 범위에서 다양한 피크를 나타냈지만, 2종류의 백색 LED에서는 450nm와 550nm의 파장대역에서만 피크를 나타냈다. 초장, 생체중 및 건물중은 광조사 시간을 24/0(명기/암기)으로 처리하였을 때 가장 우수했다. 또한 엽면적도 광조사 시간 24/0(명기/암기) 처리구에서 좋았다. 형광등 처리가 2종류의 백색 LED와 비교하여 최대근장, 엽수, 생체중 및 총 안토시아닌 함량이 우수하였다. 엽록소 형광값은 형광등을 사용하여 광조사 시간을 12/12(명기/암기)로 처리하였을 때 가장 높았다. 형광등 광원에서 광 에너지 사용 효율은 LED 등이 형광등과 비교하여 약 35-46% 더 높았다. 본 결과는 식물공장 시스템에서 상추 재배를 위한 형광등의 대체 광원으로써 LED의 이용가능성을 보여 주었다.

The stresses could be detected by measuring and analyzing the difference of chlorophyll content, photosynthetic efficiency(Fv/Fm), differential temperature(DT), stomatal resistance and light absorbance values between deficient and controlled plants. From the all over experiments, the stresses could be first diagnosed in the 8th day after treatment and the overall diagnosis rate was estimated at more than 50%.

The stresses could be detected by measuring and analyzing the difference of chlorophyll content, photochemical efficiency (Fv/Fm), temperature difference (DT) and light absorbance at wavelengths of 480nm, 560nm and 710nm between deficient and control plants. From the all over experiments, the stresses could be first diagnosed in the 3rd to 5th day in general after treatment and the overall diagnosis rate was estimated at more than 50% up to 100%.

  • A portable equipment that measures a current and voltage waveform of power transmission lines is pro-posed. In the equipment, the current and voltage, respectively, are detected by a loop coil and a capacitor clamped around the power lines. The detected data is transmitted by an FM wave to the receiver on the ground station. Since the receiver is isolated from the power lines, we do not require high potential insulators for the measurement of current and voltage. The proposed equipment is therefore, small-sized, light, and low in the cost of production. Experimental results presented here show that the equipment can monitor the current flowing in single wire over a ground plane and the potential of the wire.

시각계통의 시.공간적 특성 해석 (Spatio-temporal Characteristics Analysis of Visual System)

  • Applying the theory of physiology and control systems, the visual system was studied as a regulator of impining light. The characteristics function of visual system is mainly analysed by spato-temporal characteristics based upon Enroth's model, Broca-Sulzer phenomenon and Mach effect. Some aims of this paper are as follows. (1) In order to get the excitatory and inhibitory potential of the intermediated cell layer in the retina, the exponential value, {exp(FM/kT)- $I_{mn}$ } is caculated based on the physiological theory in neuro-phenomena. (2) To show the visual characteristics by analog simulation for generating stimulus waveforms and analysis, the visual adaptation was recorded as electrical stimulation in the form of step functions. Furthermore, ti is shown that the above experimental data agrees satisfactorily with the theoretical (psychophysiological) values. This study is expected to lead to further studies concerned with human observer and human operator in control and especially pattern recognition systems.stems.

Disassembly of Chlorophyll-Protein Complexes in Arabidopsis thaliana during Dark-Induced Foliar Senescence

  • The disassembly of Chl-protein complexes during dark-induced senescence (DIS) was investigated using detached third and fourthleaves of 21$\pm$1 day-old Arabidopsis thaliana. Although Chl content decreased linearly after 1 d, a significant decrease of photochemical effeciency (Fv/Fm) was observed after 2 d. In experiments using native green gel electrophoresis of Chl-protein complexes combined with additional two-dimensional SDS-PAGE analysis, we could observe the degradation of both photosystems after 2 d. Although light-harvesting complex(LHC) for PSI (LHCI) was degraded first in PSI complex, small PSII apoproteins including CP47/CP43 and D1/D2 apoproteins were degraded first in PSII complexes. LHC for PSII (LHCII) trimers were stable until 4 d. The level of LHCII monomers was increased until 3 and decreased thereafter, resulting in the increase of free pigments. These results suggest that the disassembly process of PSI is different from that of PSII.

Effects of Ultraviolet-B Radiation on Growth and Photosynthesis in Cucumber Primary Leaves

  • In the present study we studied the growth, photosynthetic traits and protective mechanisms against oxidative stress in the primary loaves of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) seedlings with or without UV-B treatment. Cucumber seedings were irradiated with UV-B for 10 days in environment-controlled growth chambers. The primary leaves irradiated with UV-B showed reduction in leaf length and decreased biomass production. The reduced biomass production seemed to be due to a negative effect of UV-B radiation on the photosynthetic process. Changes in chemical properties of leaf, such as chi a/b ratio affected photosynthesis. UV-B significantly affected chl b content compared with chi a in the light harvesting complex resulting reduced photosynthetic activity Fv/Fm decreased with an UV-B stress, suggesting that the photosynthetic apparatus, and particularly, PS II was damaged under UV-B stress. Malondialdehyde(MDA) concentration which represents the state of membrane lipid peroxidation Increased significantly under UV-B stress confirming an oxidative stress. UV-B exposure with SA solution(0.1-1.0 mM) can partially ameliorated some of the detrimental effects of UV-B stress. Leaf injuries including loss of chlorophyll and decreased ratio of Fv/Fm were reduced with combined application of UV-B and SA. ABA and JA showed similar mode of action in physiological effects on photosynthetic activities though the levels were lower than those from SA treated plants. Chloroplast ultrastructure was also affected by UV-B exposure. The thickness of leaf tissue components decreased and the number of grana and thylakoids was reduced in chloroplast applied UV-B or SA alone. At combined stress granal and stromal thylakoids were less affected. The leaves under combined stress acquired a significant tolerance to oxidative stress. From these results, it can be suggested that SA may have involved a protective role against UV-B induced oxidative damage.
