Present paper was attempted to investigate the effects of the light on the sclerotium formation of some isolates of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum(Lib.) do Bary from lettuce, cucumber and rape. The investigations were performed in the both aspects inducing sclerotial primordia from the mycelial colony and developing such primordia. The cultures were grown on potato-dextrose agar and were treated with day-light fluorescent lamps. In the continuous light illumination for 21 days, numbers of sclerotial primordia and matured sclerotia were increased with increasing the light intensity up to about 500 Lux, but on the contrary the dry-weight of matured sclerotia was decreased. In the 800 Lux illumination, induction of the primordia was extremely depressed, and then matured sclerotia were almost not produced. Short-time illumination for 48 hours, although the light intensity was as high as 5000 Lux, increased the numbers of sclerotial primordia and matured sclerotia. Dry-weight of matured sclerotia, however, was slightly increased only at low intensity of 160 Lux. On the other hand, the light shock which u·as alternatively on-of light every one minute for 48 hours increased the number and dry-weight of sclerotia produced, but the former was more effective at 500 Lux shock and the later more effective at 160 Lux shock.

The law about floor impact sound goes into effect from March 23th in 2004 and is applying to new designs. According to the new law, the minimal of slab thickness is 180mm by standard floor structure and the new law presents about the minimal standard about heavy-weight impact sound. Also, It presents about classification of light-weight sound separate the minimal standard, so demand of consumers can be accepted. But a working plan of classification about light-weight sound is not presented in accordance with field test, so the problem that design can't be achieved although the aim of design is formed. This study shows contents to investigate for working of classification and will be helpful to designers and construction corporations.
Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of weight of load and time on the physical workload of repetitive upper-limb tasks with handling light weight loads using EMG and perceived discomfort, and to investigate the relationship between EMG and perceived discomfort for those repetitive tasks of moving light weight loads. Background: Repetitive upper-limb motion is known as one of the main risk factors of musculoskeletal disorders, and a lot of repetitive tasks are carried out while handling light weight loads in the industry. In evaluating the workload of repetitive tasks handling light weight loads, EMG and perceived discomfort can be used, though their relationship in those work conditions are not much investigated. Method: A laboratory experiment with 18 healthy males were conducted to record EMG signals from 5 muscle sites of the right arm and shoulder and rate perceived discomforts for the body parts and the whole body while carrying out repetitive materials-handling tasks for 52min. The subjects were divided into 3 groups which handled the loads of 1kg, 2kg and 3kg, respectively. ANOVAs were conducted to analyze the effects of the weight and time on RMS of EMG amplitude (normalized RMS: NRMS), median frequency of power spectrum of EMG (normalized MDF: NMDF) and perceived discomfort. The correlations between NRMS and NMDF and perceived discomfort were also analyzed. Results: Statistically significant muscular fatigue effects were not found from NRMS and NMDF in most muscles, while there were significant increases of discomfort as the task time elapsed. It was shown that there were an increasing trend of the muscular activity as the weight of load increased and a decreasing trend of median frequency of EMG of upper and lower arms as time elapsed. It was found that there were significant negative correlations between NMDFs from the lower arm and discomfort ratings, though the relationships were weak. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the working conditions adopted in this study were not enough to induce muscular fatigue, while there was significant increase in perceived discomfort. A further study is necessary to integrate the objective and subjective measures for more reliable and sensitive evaluation of workload of repetitive tasks of handling light weight loads. Application: This study can be used as a basic study for the evaluation of workload of repetitive tasks handling light weight loads.
Background: Light touch cue is a sensory input that could potentially help in the control of posture. The immediate stimulatory effect of light touch cues using a cane during gait is associated with postural stability. This strategy can help post-stroke individuals regain their ability to perform the sit-to-stand (STS) transfer safely. Objects: The effects of light grip on postural control during the STS transfer in post-stroke subjects were investigated. Methods: Eleven participants (6 men, 5 women) with hemiplegia due to stroke were recruited in the study. The subjects with hemiparesis performed STS transfer in three randomly assigned conditions (1) without a cane (2) light grip with a cane (3) strong grip with a cane. Results: The difference in weight-bearing distribution between the left and right feet, when the subjects were instructed to stand up, was $52.73{\pm}2.13%$ without a cane, $42.75{\pm}3.26%$ with a strong grip, and $43.00{\pm}2.55%$ with a light grip (p<.05). The rate of rise in force indicates the peak power provided by subjects during their STS transfers. The rate of rise in force was statistically significantly lower without a cane than that with a light grip or a strong grip (p<.05). The subjects' centers of pressure sway on the mediolateral side during STS transfers statistically significantly declined with a light grip or a strong grip when compared to those without a cane (p<.05). Conclusion: When the subjects with hemiparesis used a cane during STS transfers, their duration, center of pressure sway, and difference in weight-bearing distribution were all reduced. The subjects also exhibited similar results during STS transfers with a cane gripped lightly. This result may provide guidelines for the use of assistive devices when patients with hemiparesis practice STS transfers in clinical settings.

As carbon fiber is a light-weight materials, high tensile strength and durability compared with rebar, the retrofitting method for RC structures using carbon fiber sheet (CFS) must be use widely. In this paper, the tensile strength test for carbon fiber sheet variable of CF's weight and elastic modulus to evaluate the design tensile strength of carbon fiber sheet which is needed for the strengthening design of CFS and the calculation of strengthening effect. As a result, the design tensile strength of CFS can be calculate using the effect coefficient of strengthening(α) of CFS, the average tensile strength of CFS and the standard deviation of CFS(equation 5)

Applying previous studies performed in the moisture transportation characteristics and shrinkage of lightweight concrete application of shrinkage reduction is to discuss. Applicability of shrinkage reduction effect of lightweight concrete applies for the analysis of PSC girder bridge beam placed on the construction site. Stress of the concrete bridge deck, rebar quantity is calculated by effective elastic modulus method and crack risk is assessed by moisture transport and differential shrinkage analysis. After approximately 10 days maximum tensile stress occurs 6MPa, similar to the case of normal concrete, a maximum tensile stress occurs 3MPa in lightweight concrete and comparing to normal concrete stress was reduced to approximately 50%. Normal and lightweight concrete crack index, respectively, is reduced 1.6 to 1.2, 1.2 to 0.9 in surface and boundary region. Therefore, reduction in shrinkage of concrete were able to confirm reduction of crack risk.

As being inconvenient to apply reinforced concrete structure to high-rise buildings. it is applied steel structured system. Therefore light-weight wall systems are applied as partition wall to reduce the self-load of the building. But. the required performances of a light-weight wall are not evaluated systematically. As a field survey result. partition walls of house-to-house and room-to-room were not showed their respected performances. so the dwellers are feel so worse the quality of the whole building. In steel-structured high-rise buildings especially. occupant's dissatisfaction concerned indoor noise was high because curtain wall systems having a high air-tight performance isolate the outdoor noise making masking effect. Also to suppress indoor air movement. stact effect must be concerned. Therefore wall systems which have high performances of sound insulation and air-tightness are required in high-rise buildings.
Light Emitting Diode (LED) of 880 nm was used as a function of luminosity in culture of the photosynthetic bacteria including Rhodobacter sp.. An array of 880 run LED was driven with an energy density of $6.0mW/cm^2$. In processing time, we were able to show that the cell growth were gained of significant changes in the pigment and in the dry weight. And we also showed that photosynthetic bacteria had the resonable relativity of optical density to dry weight. LED-880nm is of great significance for the potential use of photo-bioreactor construction.
Grouted sleeve splice (GSS) is an effective type of connection applied in the precast concrete structures as it has the advantages of rapidly assembly and reliable strength. To decrease the weight and cost of vertical rebar connection in precast shear walls, a light-weight sleeve is designed according to the thick-cylinder theory. Mechanical behaviour of the light-weighted GSS is investigated through experimental analysis. Two failure modes, such as rebar fracture failure and rebar pull-out failure, are found. The load-displacement curves exhibit four different stages: elastic stage, yield stage, strengthening stage, and necking stage. The bond strength between the rebar and the grout increases gradually from outer position to inner position of the sleeve, and it reaches the maximum value at the centre of the anchorage length. A finite element model predicting the mechanical properties of the light-weighted GSS is developed based on the Concrete Damage Plasticity (CDP) model and the Brittle Cracking (BC) model. The effect of the rebar anchorage length is significant, while the increase of the thickness of sleeve and the grout strength are not very effective. A model for estimating ultimate load, including factors of inner diameter of sleeves, anchorage length, and rebar diameter, is proposed. The proposed model shows good agreement with various test data.

Possible methods of protection of non cellulosic fibers, particularly nylon filament yarn, from the damaging effects of light are discussed. Manganese acetate, cupricacetate, G1-06-196 and sodium phosphate are used as a light stabilizer for nylon filament yarn. The light stability of filament containing different weight of TiO$_2$ is increased as the following order: Bright>Semi-Dull>Full-Dull The protection effect against light according to the present of the light stabilizer in filament increased in the following order: Manganese acetate> Cupric acid> G1-06-196> Sodium phosphate Manganese acetate is shown to be the most effecting salt for protecting nylon against light. 15 ppm of the salt is shown to be effective enough for protecting nylon filament yarn against light.
