A plastic noise barrier is a structure installed to minimize noise, and it is composed of the main plate, sound-absorbing plate, and sound-absorbing material. Plastic noise barrier structures have several advantages compared to other products, such as light weight, anticorrosion, durability, easy assembly, rapid construction, and low costs. In this study, the main and sound-absorbing plates were manufactured through extrusion molding, and the sound-absorbing plate was finished with a press to improve the conventional injection molding. Extrusion molding dies and punch dies were designed, and a profile extrusion-molding system was developed. Thus, inexpensive and efficient sound-absorbing and main plates can be produced, and the noise barrier structure can be assembled rapidly. Additionally, a noise barrier structure with extended service life and excellent quality can be constructed by creating uniform free space to accommodate increased temperatures after assembly and installation.

In the past, the technology of strengthening structures using FRP composites was still in its infancy, with very few publications on the technology available. However, recently strengthening of Reinforced concrete (RC) and other structures using advanced fibre-reinforced polymer/plastic(FRP) composites has become very popular in the last few years. As the well-known advantages of FRP composites including both good corrosion resistence and ease for site handling due to their light weight, also its design methods have been ensured the safe and economic use of this new technology, FRPs have been used widely and demonstrated in the field of aero industries etc. The purpose of this paper is to report the examples of the many diverse applications of Fiber Reinforced Plastic in construction materials of structures.

The objective of this study is to examine the fatigue behavior in compression of normal-weight and lightweight concrete mixtures with high volume supplementary cementitious material(SCM). The selected binder composition was 30% ordinary portland cement, 20% fly-ash, and 50% ground granulated blast-furnace slag. The targeted compressive strength of concrete was 40 MPa. For the cyclic loading, the constant maximum stress level varied to be 75%, 80%, and 90% of the static uniaxial compressive strength, whereas the constant minimum stress level was fixed at 10% of the static strength. The test results showed that fatigue life of high volume SCM lightweight concrete was lower than the companion normalweight concrete. The value of the fatigue strain at the maximum stress level intersected the descending branch of the monotonic stress-strain curve after approximately 90% of the fatigue life.
For each construction material used, there is certain theoretical limit in sizes. For tall building construction, the reduction in slab weight is the first step to take in order to break such size limits. In this paper, the feasibility of such objective is proven and given by numerical analysis result. For a typical building slab, both concrete and advanced composite sandwich panels are considered. The concrete slab is treated as a special orthotropic plate to obtain more accurate result. For each panel, the deflection under the dead and live loads is compared, since both tensile and compressive strengths of the composites are far more higher than those of concrete. All types of sandwich panels considered, except one case, have self-weights less than one tenth of that of the reinforced concrete slab, with deflections less than that of the reinforced concrete slab.

Based on the increasing demand for a solution to reduce thermal load, extensive green roofs have great opportunity for application to existing roofs due to their light-weight and easy maintenance. The present study delivers data regarding thermal behavior and heat reduction potential in relation to vegetation coverage between green roof types. 1) In the hottest hour in a day, green roofs showed considerable potential to mitigate heat load in roof environments, which can be up to $10^{\circ}C$ difference. 2) Compared to conventional cement roofs, the extensive green roofs only have a slight potential to cool the air over green roofs. By statistical analysis of linear regression, green coverage has little to do with the reduction of air temperature; the cooling effect was proven only in nighttime. 3) Green roofs act as an insulating roof membrane, the inner substrate of green roofs remained cooler than cement roof surfaces in the daytime, but in the nighttime the green roofs generally were warmer than the cement roof surfaces. 4) The variable of vegetation coverage resulted in no significant difference in thermal behavior in the air, but had the greatest effect in keeping the substrate cool in the daytime. The high vegetation coverage also hindered the rapid cooling of the substrate in the nighttime, and therefore was warmer than other measured temperatures. In order to draw a clear conclusion to combat urban heat island effect with extensive green roofs, the experiment needs to be applied on a larger scale.
Structural health monitoring (SHM) of civil infrastructure using fiber Bragg grating sensor networks (FBGSNs) has received significant public attention in recent years. However, there is currently little research on the health-monitoring technology of high-piled wharfs in coastal ports using the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor technique. The benefits of FBG sensors are their small size, light weight, lack of conductivity, resistance corrosion, multiplexing ability and immunity to electromagnetic interference. Based on the properties of high-piled wharfs in coastal ports and servicing seawater environment and the benefits of FBG sensors, the SHM system for a high-piled wharf in the Tianjin Port of China is devised and deployed partly using the FBG sensor technique. In addition, the health-monitoring parameters are proposed. The system can monitor the structural mechanical properties and durability, which provides a state-of-the-art mean to monitor the health conditions of the wharf and display the monitored data with the BIM technique. In total, 289 FBG stain sensors, 87 FBG temperature sensors, 20 FBG obliquity sensors, 16 FBG pressure sensors, 8 FBG acceleration sensors and 4 anode ladders are installed in the components of the back platform and front platform. After the installation of some components in the wharf construction site, the good signal that each sensor measures demonstrates the suitability of the sensor setup methods, and it is proper for the full-scale, continuous, autonomous SHM deployment for the high-piled wharf in the costal port. The South 27# Wharf SHM system constitutes the largest deployment of FBG sensors for wharf structures in costal ports to date. This deployment demonstrates the strong potential of FBGSNs to monitor the health of large-scale coastal wharf structures. This study can provide a reference to the long-term health-monitoring system deployment for high-piled wharf structures in coastal ports.

Development of high-strength and light-weight structural steel as well as advancement in steel structure analysis enable construction of long span steel arch bridge. In an economic viewpoint, however, the design values of long span steel arch bridge needs to be optimized to reduce construction cost and achieve proper levels of structural safety. This study investigated the girder depth and the rise-span ratio for optimum design values, as well as the spectral analysis for protection against earthquake. The relationship between rise-span ratio and girder depth was derived based on the parametric studies of the basic span lengths of 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100m using a commercial Cis SAP2000. The equation relating the two variables was derived using linear regression.

Recently, studies on the detection and classification of Android malware based on API Call sequence have been actively carried out. However, API Call sequence based malware classification has serious limitations such as excessive time and resource consumption in terms of malware analysis and learning model construction due to the vast amount of data and high-dimensional characteristic of features. In this study, we analyzed various classification models such as LightGBM, Random Forest, and k-Nearest Neighbors after significantly reducing the dimension of features using PCA(Principal Component Analysis) for CICAndMal2020 dataset containing vast API Call information. The experimental result shows that PCA significantly reduces the dimension of features while maintaining the characteristics of the original data and achieves efficient malware classification performance. Both binary classification and multi-class classification achieve higher levels of accuracy than previous studies, even if the data characteristics were reduced to less than 1% of the total size.
Demand for wood in construction is increasing worldwide. In Korea, technical reviews of high-rise Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) buildings are under way. In this paper, Floor Impact Sound Insulation Performance (FISIP) and Transmission Loss (TL) of 150 mm thick CLT floor panels made of two domestic species, Larix kaempferi and Pinus densiflora, are investigated. The CLT slabs were tested in reverberation chambers connected vertically. When comparing Single Number Quantity (SNQ) of FISIP of the bare panels, the Larix CLT is 3 dB lower in heavy-weight and 1 dB in light-weight than the Pinus CLT. However, there was no difference when concrete toppings were added to improve the performance. As the concrete toppings became thicker, the heavy-weight was reduced by 9 dB ~ 20 dB, and the light-weight by 20 dB ~ 30 dB. And the analysis of these results with area density has confirmed that the area densities are highly correlated (R2 = 0.94 ~ 0.99) to the FISIP of the CLT. The types of CLT didn't affect the TL. Comparison of theoretical TL values with measured TL values has shown that the frequency characteristics are similar but 8 dB ~ 12 dB lower in measured values. The relationship between the TL and frequency characteristics of the tested CLT slabs was derived by using the correction value.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of energy saving and sound insulation of building materials mixed with charcoal. To investigate the functionality of building based on the difference of construction materials, three different experimental buildings were constructed. They were buildings built with the conventional construction materials (A), the charcoal construction materials (B), and the charcoal-sericite construction materials (C). The study showed that energy consumption could be reduced approximately 9.5% and 14.5% by replacing A with B and C, respectively. Especially, it is revealed that the lower outdoor temperature was, the higher energy saving effect was. Also, after shutoff the boiler switch the decrease rate of room temperature of the one using B was lower than those of others using A and C so that the room temperature at the building using B was higher by $3.5{\sim}4.2^{\circ}C$ in the 1 meter air above the ground and by $4.4{\sim}5.4^{\circ}C$ on the floor surface after 12 hours passed. In the building noise test the heavy-and light-weight impact sound of the plate, represented by criterion of noise between floors in multi-story building, tended to decrease in the test sample containing charcoal.
