  • This paper presents a vision algorithm for finding the centers of steam generator tubes using the generalized symmetry transform, which is used for ECT(Eddy Current Test) of steam generator tubes in nuclear power plants. The geometrical properties of the image representing steam generator tubes shows that they have amost circular or somewhat elliptic appearances and each tube has strong symmetry about its center. So we apply the generalized symmetry transform to finding centers of steam geneator tubes. But applying the generalized symmetry transform itself without any modification gives difficulties in obtaining the exact centers of steam generator tubes. But applying the generalized symmetry transform itself without any modification gives difficulties in obtaining the exact centers of tubes due to the shadow effect generated by the local light installed inside steam generator. Therefore we make the generalized symmetry transform modified, which uses a modified phase weight function in getting the symmetry magnitude in order to overcome the misleading effect by the local light. The experimental results indicate that the proposed vision algorithm efficiently recongnizes centers of steam generator tubes.

  • This study is tended to analyze the characteristics of the emotional office environment so that digital technologies may adapt to the rapidly progressing social structure in a flexible way, investigate the interior composition of the changing office space and the element and direction of design and then present the indoor environment appropriate to it with the desirable alternative to the emotional office. The recognition of emotionality becomes so important that it is called 'emotional society'. Emotional design, which is mostly concern about user's consensus & experiences and in the space, is appeared on office. Emotional design is understanded from a interactive point of view, human and interior-space. The important factors of this study are light, color, immateriality and fun sensitivity The purpose of this study is to examine the emotional design by analysis of multifarious spaces. Office space Is designed emotional and experienced in the future.

  • Recently, smart lighting systems are the combination between sensors and lights. These systems turn on/off and adjust the brightness of lights based on the motion of object and the brightness of environment. These systems are often applied in places such as buildings, rooms, garages and parking lot. However, these lighting systems are controlled by lighting sensors, motion sensors based on illumination environment and motion detection. In this paper, we propose an automatic lighting control system using one single camera for buildings, rooms and garages. The proposed system is one integration the results of digital image processing as motion detection, hand gesture detection to control and dim the lighting system. The experimental results showed that the proposed system work very well and could consider to apply for automatic lighting spaces.

  • 본 논문은 EBGM(Elastic Bunch Graph Matching)기법을 이용한 얼굴인식에 대해 다룬다.

  • The image noise improvement algorithm proposed in this paper extracts the boundary line by using the window of the binarized image to detect the gesture motion. Boundary line blurring is prevented by improving Gaussian noise generated during video output. To improve gesture recognition in low-light environments, an image noise enhancement algorithm has been designed to provide an output image close to the base image. Analyzing the experimental results, we found almost 10% improvement in the results compared to the results of the existing Median filter.

  • A gap surface plasmon resonator have received considerable attention because it can dramatically enhance the absorption of the electromagnetic field. However, whereas most of studies were just focused on the absorption within a narrow range of wavelength, few studies have been performed for the broadband absorption in the visible range. Therefore, in this study, we discuss methods that can induce broadband light absorption using gap plasmon resonance in visible regime. The gap plasmon resonator will offer great potential for appplications to solar cells and bioimaging.

  • This paper deals with an application of neural network to camera calibration with wide angle lens and 2-D range finding. Wide angle lens has an advantage of having wide view angles for mobile environment recognition ans robot eye in hand system. But, it has severe radial distortion. Multilayer neural network is used for the calibration of the camera considering lens distortion, and is trained it by error back-propagation method. MLP can map between camera image plane and plane the made by structured light. In experiments, Calibration of camers was executed with calibration chart which was printed by using laser printer with 300 d.p.i. resolution. High distortion lens, COSMICAR 4.2mm, was used to see whether the neural network could effectively calibrate camera distortion. 2-D range of several objects well be measured with laser range finding system composed of camera, frame grabber and laser structured light. The performance of 3-D range finding system was evaluated through experiments and analysis of the results.

  • A Spatial light modulator (SLM) is a real-time programmable device having the modulation function of the amplitude, phase or polarization of an optical wavefront as a function of position via electrical or optical control signals. Various types of reusable SLMs with two-dimensional pixel arrays are centrally important devices in volumetric recording, data processing, pattern recognition, optical computer and other optical system. • Research and development (R&D) methodology for the practical use of accident tolerant fuel (ATF) in commercial light water reactors is discussed in the present review. The identification and quantification of the R&D-metrics and the attribute of candidate ATF-concepts, recognition of the gap between the present R&D status and the targeted practical use, prioritization of the R&D, and technology screening schemes are important for achieving a common understanding on technology screening process among stakeholders in the near term and in developing an efficient R&D track toward practical use. Technology readiness levels and attribute guides are considered to be proper indices for these evaluations. In the midterm, the selected ATF-concepts will be developed toward the technology readiness level-5, at which stage the performance of the prototype fuel rods and the practicality of industrial scale fuel manufacturing will be verified and validated. Regarding the screened-out concepts, which are recognized to have attractive potentials, the fundamental R&D should be continued in the midterm to find ways of addressing showstoppers.

  • Light field (LF) superpixel segmentation aims to group the similar pixels not only in the single image but also in the other views to improve the computational efficiency of further applications like object detection and pattern recognition. Among the state-of-the-art methods, there is an approach to segment the LF images while enforcing the view consistency. However, it leaves too much noise and inaccuracy in the shape of superpixels. In this paper, we modify the process of the clustering step. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms the existing method in terms of view-consistency.
