The study aims to examine how everyday life skills of disabled seniors in rural areas affect their depression and self-esteem through their quality of life and explores how to improve the quality of life of disabled seniors. To achieve this, 238 participants who were registered as disabled and aged 65 or over took part in this research. Results showed that the quality of life among disabled seniors decreased when their everyday life skills were relatively more advanced than those of non-disabled people. It was also found that the high level of everyday life skills possessed by disabled seniors caused more severe depression and lower self-esteem. Their quality of life negatively affected self-esteem and depression and their everyday life skills were a key factor that influenced depression and self-esteem.

본고는 <센과 치히로의 행방불명>에 나타난 세계관을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 2장 '존재 왜곡을 치유하는 휴머니즘'에서는 존재의 원형을 회복시키는 데 기여하는 휴머니즘 사상을 논의하였다. 실명(失名) 위기를 맞은 치히로에 대한 하쿠의 사랑, 귀신 세계에 갇힌 엄마 아빠에 대한 치히로의 사랑, 용으로 변하여 고통스러워하는 하쿠에 대한 치히로의 신뢰 등에서 대가를 바라지 않는 휴머니즘을 읽을 수 있었다. 3장 '공생 공존을 지향하는 금욕주의'에서는 공동체 질서에 기여하는 금욕주의를 논의하였다. 돼지로 변한 치히로의 엄마 아빠의 모습, 직원들을 착취하는 유바바의 모습, 보이는 대로 먹어치우는 가오나시의 모습 등은 지나친 욕망의 폐해를 보여준다. 반대로 순진무구한 치히로, 소박한 제니바의 모습에서 금욕주의적 가능성을 읽을 수 있다. 4장 '근대 문명을 반성하는 생명사상'에서는 자본주의의 모순을 반성하는 생명 사상을 논의하였다. 오물신은 근대 문명에 대한 철저한 반성을 촉구하고 있다. 고향인 강을 떠나온 하쿠의 삶 역시 자연과 생명의 소중함을 일깨워준다.

본 연구에서는 결혼이주여성들이 사회적, 문화적, 역사적 '과거성'이라는 이주의 짐꾸러미를 안은 채 새로운 공간으로의 이주 후 자신들의 체험들을 어떻게 주체적 행위자로 재구성해 나가는지를 포착하는 것이 연구의 목적이다. 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 결혼이주여성이 경험하게 되는 생활세계의 체험을 신체성, 공간성, 시간성, 관계성 차원으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 결혼이주여성의 신체성은 피부색이나 문화적인 면에서 차이가 있을 뿐 결코 차별이 대상이 아니라고 생각하며, 자신의 몸에 대한 당당함으로 현실의 편견을 극복하고자 노력한다. 결혼이주여성의 공간성은 새로운 사회문화적 공간을 재구성하는 '공간적 전환(spatial turn)을 시도한다. 결혼이주여성의 시간성은 현실의 탓만을 하는 수동적 주체가 아니라 보다 적극적으로 미래를 준비하고자 하는 인식을 하고 있다. 결혼이주여성의 관계성은 확장된 인간관계를 바탕으로 자신의 영역을 개척하는 삶을 보인다.

As an initial study to elucidate the molecular mechanism of how probiotics modulate macrophage activity, we monitored mRNA expression patterns in peritoneal macrophages (PMs) treated with two different strains of probiotics. After treatment with either Weissella cibaria WIKIM28 or Latilactobacillus sakei WIKIM50, total RNAs from PMs were isolated and subjected into gene chip analyses. As controls, mRNAs from vehicle (phosphate-buffered saline, PBS)-treated PMs were also subjected to gene chip analysis. Compared to vehicle (PBS)-treated PMs, WIKIM28-treated and WIKIM50-treated PMs exhibited a total of 889 and 432 differentially expressed genes with expression differences of at least 4 folds, respectively. Compared to WIKIM28-treated PMs, WIKIM50-treated PMs showed 25 up-regulated genes and 21 down-regulated genes with expression differences of more than 2 folds. Interestingly, mRNA transcripts of M2 macrophage polarization marker such as anxa1, mafb, and sepp1 were increased in WIKIM50-treated PMs comparing to those in WIKIM28-treated PMs. Reversely, mRNA transcripts of M1 macrophage polarization marker such as hdac9, ptgs2, and socs3 were decreased in WIKIM50-treated PMs comparing to those in WIKIM28-treated PMs. In agreement with these observations, mRNA expression levels of tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1α were significantly reduced in WIKIM50-treated macrophages compared to those in WIKIM28-treated macrophages. These results may indicate that probiotics can be classified as two different types depending on their ability to convert macrophages into M1 or M2 polarization.

This study was conducted to calculate the damage of Italian ryegrass (IRG) by abnormal climate using machine learning and present the damage through the map. The IRG data collected 1,384. The climate data was collected from the Korea Meteorological Administration Meteorological data open portal.The machine learning model called xDeepFM was used to detect IRG damage. The damage was calculated using climate data from the Automated Synoptic Observing System (95 sites) by machine learning. The calculation of damage was the difference between the Dry matter yield (DMY)_normal and DMY_abnormal. The normal climate was set as the 40-year of climate data according to the year of IRG data (1986~2020). The level of abnormal climate was set as a multiple of the standard deviation applying the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) standard. The DMY_normal was ranged from 5,678 to 15,188 kg/ha. The damage of IRG differed according to region and level of abnormal climate with abnormal temperature, precipitation, and wind speed from -1,380 to 1,176, -3 to 2,465, and -830 to 962 kg/ha, respectively. The maximum damage was 1,176 kg/ha when the abnormal temperature was -2 level (+1.04℃), 2,465 kg/ha when the abnormal precipitation was all level and 962 kg/ha when the abnormal wind speed was -2 level (+1.60 ㎧). The damage calculated through the WMO method was presented as an map using QGIS. There was some blank area because there was no climate data. In order to calculate the damage of blank area, it would be possible to use the automatic weather system (AWS), which provides data from more sites than the automated synoptic observing system (ASOS).

Biotechnology "embraces everything from the production of recombinant proteins to the use of biological molecules as components of nanotechnology". Strategic-basic research in biotechnology is crucial to boosting world economy and creating jobs in the Life Sciences. Biotechnology will be the benefit to be drawn from biomedical life science research, which promises to be the new pillar of economy. Although the turnaround time for life science research products is painstakingly slow, the fruits of one such labour (Fig. 1), is being reaped fur worldwide biomedical applications.

This study focused on the literary world of T. Tolstaya, a Russian writer who takes a crucial position in contemporary Russian literature, drawing upon the wrier's a couple of short stories. 'Youth' is a key motive encompassing all works of Tolstaya, so that it becomes the poetic keynote among her literary works. In order to examine such distinctions of the main characters' world awareness in their youth as shown in Tolstaya's literary works, Chapter 2 of this paper paid a special attention to the analyse of her representative works such as "Sitting on a Golden Terracing Stone" and "Meeting with a Bird", and expressed potential implications of youth with mimetic imagination for her. For Tolstaya, youth is perceived as a paradise but original imagination of youth gradually fades away in adult and ends up with a lost paradise. This is why Tolstaya uses poetic means based on nostalgia for youth like paradise and literary motto for recovery of imagination in youth. In this regard, this study particularly examined the retrospective prologue resisting the power of time as well as different fictional characters living in her own fantastic world. As a result, this study draws a conclusion that such longing and nostalgia for youth and lost paradise as delineated by Tolstaya through retrospective prologue and characters speak for an existential speculation that explores any profound implication of afflictions in reality of human life, rather than focusing on the painful reality of human life which consists of honest dialogues with realities like 'darkness' and 'pain.' In addition, this study, complying with Zolotonosov's ideas which deal with and define Tolstaya's literary works as a shabby and humble box invisibly containing a full wealth of precious jewels inside, sheds a new light on the writer's literary world.

Objective : Even in the patients with neurologically good outcome after intracranial aneurysm surgery, their perception of health is an important outcome issue. This study aimed to investigate the quality of life (QOL) and its predictors of patients who had a good outcome following anterior circulation aneurysm surgery as using the World Health Organization Quality of Life instrument-Korean version. Methods : We treated 280 patients with 290 intracranial aneurysms for 2 years. This questionnaire was taken and validated by 99 patients whose Glasgow Outcome Scale score was 4 and more and Global deterioration scale 3 and less at 6 months after the operation, and 85 normal persons. Each domain and facet was compared between the two groups, and a subgroup analysis was performed on the QOL values and hospital expenses of the aneurysm patients according to the type of craniotomy, approach, bleeding of the aneurysm and brain injury. Results : Aneurysm patients showed a lower quality of life compared with control patients in level of independence, psychological, environmental, and spiritual domains. In the environmental domain, there were significant intergroup differences according to the type of craniotomy and the surgical approach used on the patients (p<0.05). The hospital charges were also significantly different according to the type of craniotomy (p<0.05). Conclusion : Despite good neurological status, patients surgically treated for anterior circulation aneurysm have a low quality of life. The craniotomy size may affect the QOL of patients who underwent an anterior circulation aneurysm surgery and exhibited a good outcome.
