Health promoting behavior was measured by Park's HPBS, cholesterol was measured by enzyme method, and quality of life was measured by Ro's QOL. Result: The experimental group showed a higher score of health promoting behavior than the control group. There were no differences on cholesterol and quality of life between the experimental and control groups. Conclusion: It is necessary that nurses provide middle-aged workers with work-site health promotion programs to improve health promoting behavior. It's necessary also to re-study this with the pre-post research design.

  • This study aimed to determine the effect of depression between the health-related quality of life and pain in elderly persons with physical disabilities. A total of 111 patients who were treated at hospital B (Seoul, Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju, and Busan) participated in the Survey. The SF-36 Health Assessment was used to determine the quality of life of subjects, the Korean version of the Geriatric Depression Scale-Short form to assess the level of depression, and Numeric Rating Scale to determine the level of pain. To determine the moderating effect of depression on the relationship between quality of life and pain, simple regression analysis, and the Sobel test were performed. There was a significant negative correlation between health-related quality of life and pain (r<-.3, p<.05), and a significant positive correlation between depression and pain (r=.251, p<.05). Thus, health-related quality of life had a simple regression relationship with depression and pain. Depression also showed a mediating effect between health-related quality of life and pain. The results of this study suggest that depression mediates between pain and quality of life.

The findings are expected to provide fundamental data for developing diverse programs, including health- and oral-health-related educational media, to ultimately enhance people's health-related quality of life. Methods : Adults over the age of 20 were extracted from the raw materials of the 8th national health and nutrition examination survey conducted in 2019. Among them, 4034 were finally chosen as the study subjects after checking the response distribution of relevant questions and excluding inadequate samples. Variables included general characteristics, health management behavior, oral health management behavior, subjective health perception, and EQ-5D level. Cross-tabulation test, independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and linear regression analysis were conducted using SPSS 25.0. Results : EQ-5D, which measures the level of health-related quality of life, was high when the subjects had a medical check-up experience, no experience of unsatisfactory medical service, and did not get an influenza vaccination (p<.001). The quality of life was higher when the subjects received dental inspections, did not require treatment, and used oral care goods (p<.005). Health-related quality of life was also higher when the subjective health level and subjective oral health level were high. Conclusion : Results indicate that subjective health, oral health perception level, and quality of life together were high when people had a regular check-up, did not neglect treatment, and used oral care goods. Considering the findings of this study, check-up programs that are customized for each age group are necessary. Health-related quality of life could be enhanced through the provision of diverse medical services and active efforts to prevent any medical blind spot.

The EuroQol-5D-3L, General Anxiety Disorder-7, Patient Health Questionnaire-2, Perceived Social Support through Others Scale-8, and EuroQol visual analog scale were used to assess the study variables. The t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression tests were conducted using IBM SPSS ver. 26.0. Results: Statistically significant correlations were identified between the health-related quality of life of pregnant women and anxiety (r=.29, p<.001), depression (r=.31, p<.001), social support (r=-.34, p<.001), and physical health status (r=-.44, p<. 001). Physical health status (β=-.31, p<.001) and social support (β=-.21, p=.003) had the greatest effect on health-related quality of life (F=15.50, p<.001), with an explanatory power of 26.0%. Conclusion: The health-related quality of life of pregnant women was affected by social support and physical health status. This study demonstrated that physical health and social support promotion can improve the health-related quality of life of pregnant women. • The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing health promoting behavior and quality of life in the nursing students, to provide the basic data for health promoting intervention in order to improve quality of life. The subjects of this study were 199 nursing students, living in M city, during the period from May 18 to 25, 1999. The instruments for this study were the health promoting behavior scale developed by Walker et al.(1987), the quality of life scale by Ro(1988), the self efficacy scale by Sherer(1982), the health locus of control scale by Wallston et al. (1978) and the self esteem scale by Rogenberg(1965). The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, stepwise multiple regression, t-test, ANOVA. The results of this study are as follows; 1. The health promoting behavior showed significant positive correlation with self efficacy, self esteem, internal health locus of control and quality of life. 2. The quality of life showed significant positive correlation with self efficacy, self esteem, internal health locus of control. 3. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that the most powerful predictor of health promoting behavior was self efficacy. A combination of self efficacy, self esteem, health locus of control and quality of life accounted for $41\%$ of the variance in health promoting behavior. 4. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that the most powerful predictor of quality of life was self esteem. A combination of self esteem, self efficacy and health promoting behavior accounted for $40\%$ of the variance in quality of life. Based on the above findings, it is suggested to develop nursing intervention to improve Self Efficacy, Self Esteem of nursing students enhance health promoting lifestyle.
