아프리카의 인구변천 유형과 특성 (The Pattern and Determinants of Demographic Transition in African Countries)

  • 본 연구는 아프리카 국가들의 인구변천 유형과 특징을 검토하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 아프리카의 인구변천 유형을 제시하고 있다. 그 다음으로 아프리카 국가들의 출산력과 사망력이 지난 40년간 어떻게 변화되어 왔는지를 다양한 지표를 활용하여 검토하고 있다. 분석결과 출산력의 경우 아프리카 지역은 최근까지도 비교적 높은 출산율을 보여 인구변천의 제2단계에 돌입한 것으로 보인다. 이 지역은 또한 알제리, 리비아, 모로코 등 아프리카 북부 지역의 국가와 나머지 국가들이 인구변천 과정에서 뚜렷한 차이를 보인다. 사망력의 경우에도 국가별로 큰 차이를 보인다. 우선 영아사망율의 경우 리비아는 17로 가장 낮은 수준을 보이는 데 반해 말리와 소말리아는 각각 142와 133으로 매우 높은 수준임을 알 수 있다. 평균수명도 국가별로 큰 차이를 보인다. 리비아와 알제리가 각각 71.5와 70.5로 가장 높은 수준이며 르완다는 39.9세에 머물고 있는 실정이다. 또한 대부분의 아프리카의 평균수명은 낮은 수준에 있다. 아프리카의 평균수명이 낮은 것은 여러 가지 설명이 가능하나 최근에 크게 확산되고 있는 에이즈의 영향이 가장 클 것으로 판단된다. 사회경제지표와 사망력 및 출산력의 관계는 대부분 예상했던 방향으로 나타나고 있으나, 그 관계의 유의성은 시기에 따라 약간의 차이를 보이고 있다. 사회경제지표 중 문맹률은 영아사망율과 양의 관계를 보이고 있으나, 통계적 유의성은 시기에 따라 다르게 나타나고 있다. 도시화율이 출산력에 미치는 영향은 음의 관계를 보이고 있으며, 1970년을 제외하고는 통계적 유의성도 잘 드러나고 있다. 연구모형에서 중요한 매개변인으로 설정된 영아사망률은 출산력에 중요한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있으며, 사회경제적 변인들이 영아사망률을 통하여 출산력에 미치는 간접적인 영향도 비교적 잘 드러나고 있다.

Arab Spring Effects on Meanings for Islamist Web Terms and on Web Hyperlink Networks among Muslim-Majority Nations: A Naturalistic Field Experiment

  • This research conducted a before/after naturalistic field experiment, with the early Arab Spring as the treatment. Compared to before the early Arab Spring, after the observation period the associations became stronger among the Web terms: 'Jihad, Sharia, innovation, democracy and civil society.' The Western concept of civil society transformed into a central Islamist ideological component. At another level, the inter-nation network based on Jihad-weighted Web hyperlinks between pairs of 46 Muslim Majority (MM) nations found Iran in one of the top two positions of flow betweenness centrality, a measure of network power, both before and after early Arab Spring. In contrast, Somalia, UAE, Egypt, Libya, and Sudan increased most in network flow betweenness centrality. The MM 'Jihad'-centric word co-occurrence network more than tripled in size, and the semantic structure more became entropic. This media "cloud" perhaps billowed as Islamist groups changed their material-level relationships and the corresponding media representations of Jihad among them changed after early Arab Spring. Future research could investigate various rival explanations for this naturalistic field experiment's findings.

해양경계획정에서 지질 및 지형적 요소의 효과에 관한 고찰 (The Role of Geological and Geomorphological Factors in the Delimitation of Maritime Boundaries)

  • A reference to natural prolongation appeared for the first time in the North Sea Judgement. Although it was not suggested that the concept of natural prolongation would automatically allow for the fixing of a continental shelf boundary, that concept encouraged States to request international tribunals to determine continental shelf boundaries on the basis of the geological and geomorphological features of the seabed. In the Libya v. Malta Case, however, the rejection of geological and geomorphological factors was total. Especially, Natural prolongation was the then checkmated as a relevant fact in delimitation between coasts situated less than 400 nm. apart. There can be no doubt that, in several disputed cases, prominent geomorphological variations are simply ignored ; nevertheless, there are also a few agreements where geological and geomorphological characteristics come into play and, to a certain extent, affect maritime boundaries. Physical characteristics of sea-bed are generally given serious consideration in the boundary delimitation such as the final negotiated boundary of the Australia-Indonesia Continental Shelf boundary Agreement(Timor and Arafura seas) which follows the continental slope bordering the Timor Trench.

운전 중인 송전선로의 철탑 전위강하시험과 해석 (Test and Analysis of Fall-Of-Potential at Towers of Energized Transmission Lines)

  • Tower footing resistance and fault current division factor are important design factors for evaluation of the lightning performance of the transmission line and/or design of the grounding electrode system. The periodic measurement of those factors are also important to verify that the grounding performance of the towers has been maintained good. However, the direct measurement of those factors in operating or energized condition is very difficult because of many practical reasons, such as the difficulty of disconnecting overhead groundwires from the tower under test. With supports by GECOL (General Electricitiy Company of Libya), we had a special chance to conduct Fall-Of-Potential (FOP) test on the energized 220 kV transmission towers before and after disconnecting the overhead groundwires from the towers under test. In this paper, the FOP test results on the towers and the fault current division factors estimated from the comparision of the FOP tests with and without overhead groundwires were presented. The computer models for the FOP test simulations were also constructed to find that the simulated results agreed very well with the measured ones.

A New Approach to Load Shedding Prediction in GECOL Using Deep Learning Neural Network

  • The directed tests produce an expectation model to assist the organization's heads and professionals with settling on the right and speedy choice. A directed deep learning strategy has been embraced and applied for SCADA information. In this paper, for the load shedding expectation overall power organization of Libya, a convolutional neural network with multi neurons is utilized. For contributions of the neural organization, eight convolutional layers are utilized. These boundaries are power age, temperature, stickiness and wind speed. The gathered information from the SCADA data set were pre-handled to be ready in a reasonable arrangement to be taken care of to the deep learning. A bunch of analyses has been directed on this information to get a forecast model. The created model was assessed as far as precision and decrease of misfortune. It tends to be presumed that the acquired outcomes are promising and empowering. For assessment of the outcomes four boundary, MSE, RMSE, MAPE and R2 are determined. The best R2 esteem is gotten for 1-overlap and it was 0.98.34 for train information and for test information is acquired 0.96. Additionally for train information the RMSE esteem in 1-overlap is superior to different Folds and this worth was 0.018.

  • 건설엔지니어링의 사업비는 공사비의 $3\~5\%$ 정도에 지나지 않으나, 최종 사업목적물의 성능을 결정하는데 커다란 영향을 미치고 있어 매우 중요하다. 그러나 그동안 정부 및 민간업체에서는 시공분야보다 건설엔지니어링분야의 기술개발투자 및 경쟁력을 강화하기 위한 대책마련이 미흡하였다. 따라서, 본 고에서는 미개척국가이면서, 시장의 잠재력이 큰 러시아, 리비아, 인도네시아를 대상으로 국내 건설엔지니어링업체의 경쟁력을 SWOT 분석법을 이용하여 비교 $\cdot$ 분석하였고, 해외출장 및 관련전문가의 면담조사로 국내업체의 해외 진출시 문제점 및 애로사항을 조사 분석하였다. 또한, 본고에서는 건설엔지니어링 업체의 기술력 향상과 대외경쟁력 저하원인을 다양한 측면으로 분석하여 해외시장으로 진출하기 위한 정부 및 민간차원의 해외진출 활성화 방안을 마련하였다. 특히, 국내업체의 해외진출 활성화 방안으로, 해외 정보 수집지원방안, 조세 및 보조금 지원방안, 타 기관과의 전략적 제휴방안 등을 제안하였다.

THE STRUCTURE, STRATIGRAPHY AND PETROLEUM GEOLOGY OF THE MURZUK BASIN, SOUTHWEST LIBYA

  • The Murzuk Basin covers an area in excess of $350,000{\cal}km^2$, and is one of several intra-cratonic sag basins located on the Saharan Platform of North Africa. Compared with some of these basins, the Murzuk Basin has a relatively simple structure and stratigraphy, probably as a result of it's location on a the East Saharan Craton. The basin contains a sedimentary fill which reaches a thickness of about $4,000{\cal}m$ in the basin centre. This fill can be divided into a predominantly marine Paleozoic section, and a continental Mesozoic section. The principal hydrocarbon play consists of a glacial-marine sandstone reservoir of Cambro-Ordovician age, sourced and sealed by overlying Silurian shales. The present day borders of the basin are defined by tectonic uplifts, each of multi-phase generation, and the present day basin geometry bears little relation to the more extensive Early Palaeozoic sedimentary basin within which the reservoir and source rocks were deposited. The key to the understanding of the Cambro-Ordovician play is the relative timing of oil generation compared to the Cretaceous and Tertiary inversion tectonics which influenced source burial depth, reactivated faults and reorganised migration pathways. At the present day only a limited area of the basin centre remains within the oil generating window. Modelling of the timing and distribution of source rock maturity uses input data from AFTA and fluid inclusion studies to define palaeo temperatures, shale velocity work to estimate maximum burial depth and source rock geochemistry to define kinetics and pseudo-Ro. Migration pathways are investigated through structural analysis. The majority of the discovered fields and identified exploration prospects in the Murzuk Basin involve traps associated with high angle reverse faults. Extensional faulting occurred in the Cambro-Ordovician and this was followed by repeated compressional movements during Late Silurian, Late Carboniferous, Mid Cretaceous and Tertiary, each associated with regional uplift and erosion.

  • As the instability of oil prices rose because of the situation in Libya, oil prices worldwide recorded the highest level due to the interference in supply. And so, in the 21st century, increasing efforts are being made to use clean new renewable energy centered on solar energy in accommodation of the cycle of nature instead of being reliant on the oil exporting nations. In order to reduce city energy internationally, the implementation of a low carbon city under the combined cooperation of industrial. construction, new renewable energy and transportation sectors with continuous development centered on low carbon green urban planning is now becoming established as the paradigm of the times. Recently, the government has begun carrying out the One Million Green Home Project, which is a project where the government with the goal of providing one million renewable energy homes by 2020 gives renewable energy subsidization for a partial amount of the standard unit price of installation when solar ray, solar heat, geothermal heat, small wind power or fuel cell energy is used. Thus, through this thesis which studies the state of and surveys the green village at Shingok-ri Songhak-myun Jaecheon-shi, it is the desire that the One Million Green Homes Project will be more efficiently developed and plans for improvement formed so that a high level of satisfaction in the product will be provided.

Antifungal Activity of Lactic Acid Bacteria Strains Isolated from Natural Honey against Pathogenic Candida Species

  • The role of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) in honey as antifungal activity has received little attention and their mechanism of inhibitory of fungi is not fully understood. In this study, LAB were isolated from honey samples from Malaysia, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. Twenty-five isolates were confirmed LAB by catalase test and Gram staining, and were screened for antifungal activity. Four LAB showed inhibitory activity against Candida spp. using the dual agar overlay method. And they were identified as Lactobacillus plantarum HS isolated from Al-Seder honey, Lactobacillus curvatus HH isolated from Al-Hanon honey, Pediococcus acidilactici HC isolated from Tualang honey and Pediococcus pentosaceus HM isolated from Al-Maray honey by the 16S rDNA sequence. The growth of Candida glabrata ATCC 2001 was strongly inhibited (>15.0 mm) and (10~15 mm) by the isolates of L. curvatus HH and P. pentosaceus HM, respectively. The antifungal activity of the crude supernatant (cell free supernatant, CFS) was evaluated using well diffusion method. The CFS showed high antifungal activity against Candida spp. especially The CFS of L. curvatus HH was significantly (p < 0.05) inhibited growth of C. glabrata ATCC 2001, C. parapsilosis ATCC 2201, and C. tropicalis ATCC 750 with inhibitory zone 22.0, 15.6, and 14.7 mm, respectively. While CFS of P. pentosaceus HM was significantly (p < 0.05) effective against C. krusei, C. glabrata, and C. albicans with inhibition zone 17.2, 16.0, and 13.3 mm, respectively. The results indicated that LAB isolated from honey produced compounds which can be used to inhibit the growth of the pathogenic Candida species.

Landsat-8을 활용한 Sentinel-2A Near Infrared 채널의 Spectral Band Adjustment Factor 적용성 평가 (Evaluation of Spectral Band Adjustment Factor Applicability for Near Infrared Channel of Sentinel-2A Using Landsat-8)

  • 다양한 지구관측위성은 발사 후 정확한 고품질의 자료를 제공하는 것이 중요하다. 위성 자료 품질을 유지 및 보완하기 위해서는 서로 다른 센서 차이를 고려하는 spectral band adjustment factor (SBAF)를 활용한 교차 검보정 과정이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 pseudo-invariant calibration sites 중 Libya4, Algeria3, Mauritania2 에서 수집한 Landsat-8, Sentinel-2A 위성 영상을 활용하여 SBAF 산출 및 적용을 통해 밴드 대역 폭 차이로 인해 발생하는 불확실성을 조정하였다. 두 위성 모두 Blue, Green, Red를 포함하고 Sentinel-2A의 경우 near-infrared (NIR) narrow와 NIR 두 가지 밴드 모두에 SBAF를 적용하여 밴드대역폭 유사도에 따른 반사도 차이를 정량적으로 비교하였다. SBAF 적용 후, NIR을 제외한 모든 밴드(Blue, Green, Red, NIR narrow)에서 1% 내외의 반사도 차이로 유의미한 결과가 나타났다. Sentinel-2A NIR 밴드의 경우 밴드대역폭 차이가 NIR narrow에 비해 크게 나타났지만, SBAF 적용 후에 반사도 차이가 허용 오차범위인 5%와 1-2% 차이로 SBAF 적용이 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 위성 활용이 제한적인 상황에서 두 센서의 밴드대역폭 차이가 큰 경우에도 SBAF를 적용할 수 있다고 판단하였고 위성 자료의 품질 및 연속성을 활용하는 연구에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
