기초교양필수 과목인 스크래치와 파이썬 프로그래밍 과목 수강생의 회복탄력성 분석 (The Analysis of Resilience of Programming Class' Students for Basic Liberal Arts)

  • 최근 각 대학에서 소프트웨어교육을 강조하여 교양과목에 많이 편성하고 있다. 하지만 학생들은 프로그래밍 학습을 어려워하거나 프로그래밍 학습 동기가 부족하거나 배우려고 하는 의욕이 없는 경우가 많다. 본 연구에서 회복탄력성을 알아보고자 하는 이유는 프로그래밍 학습의 실패를 극복하여 포기하지 않고 다시 학습을 진행할 수 있는 회복하는 힘을 가질 수 있도록 지도하기 위함이다. 본 연구에서는 스크래치를 학습하는 학생 집단과 파이썬을 학습하는 학생 집단을 대상으로 회복탄력성 사전-사후 검사를 진행하였다. 연구결과로는 스크래치는 학생들이 다소 쉽게 받아들이고 열심히 하려는 모습을 보였지만, 파이썬은 상대적으로 스크래치보다 어려움이 있었음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통하여 프로그래밍 학습을 지속할 수 있는 요인을 파악하는데 도움이 될 것이라고 기대한다.

코딩수업을 위한 학습자 중심의 플립드 러닝 적용 사례 연구 (A Study on a Case Applying Learner-Centered Flipped Learning for Coding Classes)

  • 본 연구는 대학의 교양수업인 코딩수업에 플립드 러닝을 적용한 사례 연구이다. 컴퓨터를 전공하지 않는 학생들이 배우는 교양 코딩 수업은 전문가 양성을 위한 코딩 교육과는 차별화된 교육방법이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 교양 수업으로의 코딩교육을 위한 플립드 러닝 수업 모형을 제안하고 그 효과 및 가능성을 살펴보았다. 학습자는 언제 어디서나 원하는 시간, 장소에서 온라인 콘텐츠로 학습을 하고, 수업시간에는 학습된 내용에 근거한 실습교육에 집중하는 플립드 러닝을 통해 교수 학습의 효율을 극대화하는 방안을 모색하였다. 실제 수업에 적용 후 사전 사후 설문을 실시하여 플립드 러닝 방식의 수업을 진행한 학생들이 전통적인 방식으로 수업을 진행한 학생들보다 학습만족도에 대해 긍정적으로 평가하였고 학습 성취도에 대한 결과도 더 나은 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

교양교육의 컴퓨팅사고력 수업이 문제해결능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Computational Thinking-based Liberal Education on Problem Solving Ability)

  • 본 연구는 컴퓨팅사고력 강좌의 문제해결능력을 파악하고 분석한 자료로 소프트웨어 교육 계획에 반영하기 위하여 분석되었다. 학습자를 대상으로 문제해결능력에 관한 사전·사후 설문을 진행하여 학습자의 어려운 점을 측정해, 소프트웨어 교육 방안을 모색하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 수업 주제와 내용 범위 및 활동 계획을 주당 2시간씩 15차시 분량의 소프트웨어 교육과정으로 구성하였고, 수강생 63명을 대상으로 설문을 하였다. 연구 결과는 소프트웨어 교육을 통한 문제 해결 능력 향상의 폭이 '이공계열 학과'보다도 '인문계열 학과'가 더 높게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로, 창의 융합형 인재 양성을 위하여 사고나 인식을 근본적으로 규정하는 이론적 체계가 서로 융합하여야 한다. 또한, 향후 소프트웨어 교육이 다양한 분야의 비전공자 대상까지 확대되도록 개선해야 한다.

공학교육에서 ChatGPT 활용의 실태 및 영향: 학습자 중심의 접근 (The Utilization and Impact of ChatGPT in Engineering Education: A Learner-Centered Approach)

  • Since the launch of ChatGPT, many college students used it extensively in various ways in their curricular learning activities. This study investigates the utilization of ChatGPT in the curriculum of first and second-year engineering students, aiming to examine its influence from a learner perspective. We explored how ChatGPT is used in each subject and learning activity to understand how learners perceive the use of ChatGPT. From the survey data on engineering college students at E university, we examined students' perception on 'shortening time to perform tasks' through ChatGPT, 'dependence on ChatGPT', 'their contribution to individual capacity building', and 'their influence on academic grade'. The majority of students reported extensive use of ChatGPT for learning activities, particularly showing high dependency in liberal arts subjects and coding-related activities. While the use of ChatGPT in liberal arts was seen as not contributing to the enhancement of individual capacity, its use in coding was positively evaluated. Furthermore, the contribution of ChatGPT to the creativity in report writing tasks was highly rated. These findings offer several important implications for the use of AI tools like ChatGPT in engineering education. Firstly, the positive impact of ChatGPT's high usability and individual-capacity enhancement in coding should be expanded to other areas of learning. Secondly, as AI technology progresses, the contribution of AI tools compared to learners is expected to increase, suggesting that students should be encouraged to effectively use AI tools to achieve their learning objectives while maintaining a balanced approach to avoid overreliance on AI.

Exploring the Trends and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence Education through the Analysis of Newspapers in Korea, 1991-2020: A topic-modeling approach

  • Artificial intelligence (AI), an essential skill of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is being actively taught in higher education; however, AI education is only in the preparatory stage in elementary, middle, and high schools. Investigating various newspaper articles related to AI education to date can aid in basic data collection, which is an important process in the preparatory stage. Accordingly, 13,378 newspaper articles were collected from a total of 21 newspapers, and five topics were extracted using the latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA)-based topic model along with frequency analysis. Newspaper articles from the early 2000s expanded to technologies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Accordingly, education in AI fields should be linked with education in AI-based technology. In addition, efforts should be made to secure the continuity and sequence of AI education in cooperation with related higher institutions and companies.

비판적 사고를 활용한 공학 설계 교육 (Engineering design education utilizing critical thinking)

  • ABEEK's professional liberal arts education reflecting critical thinking, has been well received by professors and students in the engineering discipline. Also, the demand for further utilization of critical thinking within the engineering curriculum is increasing. To meet such demand, there is a need for experts in the area of critical thinking education and engineering education to come together and search for the most effective method in using critical thinking in engineering design education courses. In this paper, we were able to confirm, through specific application cases, that the problem-solving process of critical thinking can be effectively transferred to an engineering design process, and the elements and criteria of critical thinking can be used as a successful design tool. Also, we explore the possibility of further improving engineering education on the basis of critical thinking.

교양교육의 글로벌 역량 강화 방안 사례 연구: 비교과 영역을 중심으로 (Case Study on Global Competency Reinforcement of Liberal Arts Education: Focusing on Non-Curricular Areas)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to consider ways to strengthen it through comparison and curriculum while recognizing the importance of global competencies in liberal arts education in universities. Methods: In order to explore ways to reinforce the sub-competence of global competencies, this study was conducted at a four-year university in Chungcheong-do for one year in 2019, such as 'Global Culture Talk', 'Global Travel', 'Global Nanta', and 'Making Global Friends'. Cases of comparison and application of educational programs were analyzed. The program was attended by the Department of Business Administration, Department of Aviation Service, Department of Design, Department of Manga Animation, Department of Broadcasting and Film, and foreign exchange students. The competency-centered curriculum not only has clear educational goals, but is also very advantageous in establishing a feedback system by measuring its performance. This study will assess the effectiveness of the education plan by diagnosing the change in competencies before and after the comparison and curriculum is operated. Results: The overall global competency has increased by 0.2 points compared to 2017. By subsector, it was found that the flexibility increased by 1.4 points. In the field of cross-cultural understanding, it rose 0.6 points, and in the field of global understanding, it rose 2.2 points, showing the largest increase in the sub-fields. Nevertheless, the field of global interest remains at a low level. This is considerably low compared to flexibility and ability to understand other cultures, and it is expected that measures for improvement should be continuously sought. Since the understanding of other cultures has already exceeded 60 points, it is expected that the global competency of the university will be strengthened if the level is consistently maintained and the emphasis is placed on enhancing flexibility and improving global understanding. Conclusion: The importance of strengthening global capabilities is steadily rising. Universities are also reorganizing the curriculum by analyzing the needs and satisfaction of education consumers to respond to this. The programs operated and analyzed in this study were also made as part of this effort. However, since there are various factors that affect global competency, it cannot be but admitted that it is not easy to gauge the change in competency with only a few programs and short-term efforts. However, if the efforts pursued by this study are accumulated and supplemented through feedback from a long-term perspective, it can be expected that there are not a lot of contributions to strengthening global competencies in liberal arts education.

  • This paper diagnose subjects and measures the learning ability of students based on the goal of developing an assessment tool for education productivity based on multi-aspect evaluation conducted by ICEE at Honam University. Furthermore, develop an assessment tool for education productivity that provides a motive to bring detailed improvements in teaching methods through the diagnosis. In addition, a method for compensating the issues and improving the quality of subject is suggested to develop learning ability of students through applying the assessment tool. An integrated operated system of CQI is desired to be built along with quality improvement of education through measuring academic quality by studying the methods for enhancing academic and learning ability achievement from analysis of the curriculum provided in the "ABEEK program". Through this study the current state of education productivity is presented through analyzing the difference between students who participated in the "ABEEK program" and who did not participate, and operating a comparison between the student's comprehension on their majors and liberal arts by the multi-aspect evaluation that has been conducted for 2 years.

  • In the field of artificial intelligence education, discussions on the direction of artificial intelligence education are actively underway, and it is necessary to establish a foundation for future information education. It is necessary to design a creative convergence teaching-learning and evaluation method. Although AI experience coding education has been applied, the evaluation stage is insufficient. In this paper, we propose an evaluation system that can verify the validity of the proposed education model to find a way to supplement the existing learning module. The core components of this proposed system are Assessment-Factor, Self-Diagnosis, Item Bank, and Evaluation Result modules, which are designed to enable system access according to the roles of administrator, instructors and learners. This system enables individualized learning through online and offline connection.

  • 프로그래밍 학습은 학습자들이 어렵게 느끼기도 하며, 프로그래밍 학습에 흥미를 잃거나 포기하는 사례도 많다. 이러한 상황에서 학습자들이 딛고 일어서서 탄력을 받아 학습에 자신감을 얻게 하는 능력이 회복탄력성이다. 또한 프로그래밍 언어 및 도구에 따라서 학습자들이 느끼는 인지적인 부담과 학습 동기가 다를 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교양 프로그래밍 강좌의 스크래치 강좌와 파이썬 강좌의 수강생들을 대상으로 회복탄력성의 차이를 비교 분석하였다. 연구의 결과로 파이썬 강좌와 스크래치 강좌의 회복탄력성 차이는 유의미한 수치로 차이가 있었으나 두드러지지는 않았다. 본 연구를 통하여 프로그래밍 언어 및 도구와 학습자 성향에 따른 학습 전략을 세울 수 있었다.
