환황해권 주요항만 간 컨테이너 물동량 교역 특성 분석을 통한 제휴항만 선정 연구 (A Study on the Selection of Port Alliances through Analyzing the Container Cargo Flows between Ports in the Pan-Yellow Sea)

  • 2000년대에 환황해권 지역이 핵심 경제축으로 부상함에 따라 향후 세계 경제에서 중국의 역할은 더욱 증가하고 한국은 중국과의 교류가 증가하면서 환황해권 지역은 동북아 지역의 핵심 물류시장으로 부상할 것으로 전망된다. 이에 본 연구는 환황해권 주요 항만과 평택 당진항, 인천항, 광양항 간 컨테이너 물동량 분석을 통해 전략적 제휴항만을 도출하고 환황해권 주요 항만 간 연계를 통한 물동량 유치 기반을 마련하는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이들 항만 간의 컨테이너 물동량을 분석하기 위한 기초자료로는 관세청의 수출입통계자료와 해양수산부의 해운항만물류정보시스템의 통계자료를 활용하였다. 서해안 항만들과 가장 많은 컨테이너 교역이 이뤄지는 환황해권 주요 항만을 대상으로 물동량 특성에 따른 2012년 기준 컨테이너 교역 물동량, 성장 가능성, 변동률, 교역추세, 기여도 등 5가지 평가기준에 의해서 분석해 보고 향후 주요 전략적 제휴 대상항만을 선정하였다. 환황해권 전략적 제휴 항만 선정결과 평택 당진항은 롄윈강항, 톈진항, 옌타이항, 칭다오항, 다롄항, 인천항은 스다오항, 웨이하이항, 칭다오항, 톈진항, 다롄항, 광양항은 칭다오항, 옌타이항, 다롄항, 롄윈강항으로 도출하고, 서해안 항만의 전략적 제휴항만을 대상으로 전략적 제휴체제 구축 방안에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

Resveratrol Inhibits Oesophageal Adenocarcinoma Cell Proliferation via AMP-activated Protein Kinase Signaling

  • Resveratrol has been examined in several model systems for potential effects against cancer. Adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is reported to suppress proliferation in most eukaryocyte cells. Whether resveratrol via AMPK inhibits proliferation of oesophageal adenocarcinoma cells (OAC) is unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the roles of AMPK in the protective effects of resveratrol in OAC proliferation and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms. Treatment of cultured OAC derived from human subjects or cell lines with resveratrol resulted in decreased cell proliferation. Further, inhibition of AMPK by pharmacological reagent or genetical approach abolished resveratrol-suppressed OAC proliferation, reduced the level of $p27^{Kip1}$, a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor, and increased the levels of S-phase kinase-associated protein 2 (Skp2) of $p27^{Kip1}$-E3 ubiquitin ligase and 26S proteasome activity reduced by resveratrol. Furthermore, gene silencing of $p27^{Kip1}$ reversed resveratrol-suppressed OAC proliferation. In conclusion, these findings indicate that resveratrol inhibits Skp2-mediated ubiquitylation and 26S proteasome-dependent degradation of $p27^{Kip1}$ via AMPK activation to suppress OAC proliferation.

Discovery of Chitin Deacetylase Inhibitors through Structure-Based Virtual Screening and Biological Assays

  • Chitin deacetylase (CDA) inhibitors were developed as novel antifungal agents because CDA participates in critical fungal physiological and metabolic processes and increases virulence in soil-borne fungal pathogens. However, few CDA inhibitors have been reported. In this study, 150 candidate CDA inhibitors were selected from the commercial Chemdiv compound library through structure-based virtual screening. The top-ranked 25 compounds were further evaluated for biological activity. The compound J075-4187 had an IC50 of 4.24 ± 0.16 µM for AnCDA. Molecular docking calculations predicted that compound J075-4187 binds to the amino acid residues, including active sites (H101, D48). Furthermore, compound J075-4187 inhibited food spoilage fungi and plant pathogenic fungi, with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) at 260 ㎍/ml and minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC) at 520 ㎍/ml. Therefore, compound J075-4187 is a good candidate for use in developing antifungal agents for fungi control.

Fenofibrate Increases Radiosensitivity in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma via Inducing G2/M Arrest and Apoptosis

  • Radiation therapy is an important treatment for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). However, how to promote radiation sensitivity in HNSCC remains a challenge. This study aimed to investigate the radiosensitizing effects of fenofibrate on HNSCC and explore the underlying mechanisms. HNSCC cell lines CNE-2 and KB were subjected to ionizing radiation (IR), in the presence or absence of fenofibrate treatment. Cell growth and survival, apoptosis and cell cycle were evaluated. In addition, CNE-2 cells were xenografted into nude mice and subjected to IR and/or fenofibrate treatment. The expression of cyclinB and CDK1 was detected by Western blotting. Our results showed that fenofibrate efficiently radiosensitized HNSCC cells and xenografts in mice, and induced apoptosis and G2/M arrest via reducing the activity of the CDK1/cyclinB1 kinase complex. These data suggest that fenofibrate could be a promising radiosensitizer for HNSCC radiotherapy.

백령도에서 관측된 장거리 유입 PM1.0의 주성분 공간 분포: PSCF 및 군집분석 관계 (Spacial Distribution of PM1.0 Major Compounds from Long Range Transport at the Baegryungdo Super Site: Relationship between PSCF and Cluster Analysis)

  • The spacial potential source contribution function (PSCF) method was utilized by considering topography and height of back trajectories based on the measurement of organic typo matter (OM), $NO_3{^-}$, $SO{_4}^{2-}$, and $NH_4{^+}$ at the Baegryungdo Super Site ($37^{\circ}57^{\prime}N$, $124^{\circ}37^{\prime}E$, 135 m a.s.l. (above sea level)) for three selected periods (i.e., January~April, May~August, and September~December) in 2013. The PSCF were calculated on the contributions of trans-boundary transport to the hourly mean concentrations using a high-resolution time-of-flight aerosol mass spectrometer (HR-ToF-AMS). The cluster analysis using back trajectories was performed to identify the major airflows to the sampling site. The upper atmosphere in the Tianjin area of China and the lower atmosphere in the western coast area of Korea can be the major source of trans-boundary pollution to the sampling site during January~April resulted from PSCF. The area in Lianyungang-city and Liaoning-sheng, China can be responsibile for the nitrogen related secondary compounds during May~August, and Shandong Peninsula in China is the major source area during September~December. In addition, relationships between the cluster analysis of back trajectories and PSCF were investigated for the statistically significance level for the source areas.

동북아시아 주요 컨테이너항만의 효율성 비교연구 (A Comparative Analysis of Terminal Efficiency in Northeast Asia Container Ports)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 동북아시아 주요 컨테이너항만간의 상대적 효율성을 분석함으로써, 각 항만의 현재 효율성 수준을 파악하고, 효율적 항만이 되기 위한 주요 전략수립 방안을 제시하고자 하는 것이다, 동북아시아 지역의 주요 16개 항만을 대상으로 개별항만 효율성 및 상대적 효율성을 분석하였으며, DEA기법을 사용했다. DEA모형 중 규모수익불변모형인 CCR모형과 규모수익가변모형인 BCC모형을 통해 항만 효율성을 분석하며, 또한 CCR모형에 의해 평가된 효율성을 BCC모형에 의해 평가된 효율성으로 나눈 비율인 규모의 효율성 측면에서도 효율성을 분석하였다. 이러한 방법의 실증분석을 시행함에 있어서 투입요소로는 선석 수, 안벽 길이, 수심, 부두 총면적, C/C 대수를 이용하고, 산출요소로는 컨테이너 물동량을 이용했다. 연구 결과, 중국의 경우, 대부분의 항만이 효율적으로 나타난 반면, 한국과 일본의 경우 대체적으로 비효율적인 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 부산항과 상해항, 롄윈강항과 인천항, 다롄항과 광양항이 투입요소가 유사하지만 산출요소인 컨테이너 물동량은 큰 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
