This is a study of the measurement of inter papillary constance (P.D) in 702 old aged farmers (aged over 45) and the comparision of frame size and distance space of optical center (O.C) from 240 Ready-made Reading spectacles. The average of P.D in male (62.83mm) is greater than in female (61.18mm), and the O.C of Ready-made Reading spectacles of Plastic lens (71.2mm) longer than glass lens (70.8mm). The correction prism power by wearing Reading spectacles in male was 0.7prism to 3.6prism and in female was 0.9prism to 4.4prism. So the prism power in female is greater than in male.

A novel stereolithography method using evanescent light has been proposed as a means to realize 100-nanometer resolution. An in-process measurement system with high accuracy has been introduced to the nanostereolithography apparatus. Specifically, an optical microscopic system was developed to monitor the exposure process and a confocal positioning system was established to improve the longitudinal positioning accuracy in the layer-by-layer process. A high-power objective lens, a tube lens, and a charge coupled device (CCD) were included in the optical microscopic system, whereas a laser, a high-power objective lens, a piezoelectric (PZT) stage, a condenser lens, a pinhole, and a photomultiplier (PMT) made up the confocal microscopic system. Two verification experiments were conducted, and the results indicated that the optical microscopic system had a horizontal resolution of 200 nm and that the confocal positioning system provided a depth resolution of 30.8 nm. These results indicate that nanostereolithography can be successfully performed with this system.
Based on three types of 2-point statistics (galaxy clustering, galaxy-galaxy lensing, and cosmic shear power spectra) from the Deep Lens Survey (DLS), we constrain cosmology and baryonic feedback. The DLS is a deep survey, so-called a precursor to LSST, reaching down to ~27th magnitude in BVRz' over 20 deg2. To measure the three power spectra, we choose two lens galaxy populations centered at z ~0.27 and 0.54 and two source galaxy populations centered at z ~0.64 and 1.1, with more than 1 million galaxies. We perform a number of consistency tests to confirm the reliability of the measurements. We calibrated photo-z estimation of the lens galaxies and validated the result with galaxy cross-correlation measurement. The B-mode signals, indicative of potential systematics, are found to be consistent with zero. The two cosmological results independently obtained from the cosmic shear and the galaxy clustering + galaxy-galaxy lensing measurements agree well with each other. Also, we verify that cosmological results between bright and faint sources are consistent. While there exist some weak lensing surveys showing a tension with Planck, the DLS constraint on S8 agrees nicely with the Planck result. Using the HMcode approach derived from the OWLS simulation, we constrain the strength of baryonic feedback. The DLS results hint at the possibility that the actual AGN feedback may be stronger than the one implemented in the current state-of-the-art simulations.
In this paper, we quantitatively analyze the effect of lens aberration on the degradation of beam-coupling efficiency of a tiled coherent-beam combining system. The Zernike polynomial is used to quantify the aberration of the lens, and Fresnel diffraction is applied to numerically simulate the change in the peak light intensity when combined at a distance. The results of this paper will be useful for quantitative prediction of the beam-combining efficiency that is degraded by aberration of the lens, and it is expected to be helpful for the optimal design of a practical tiled coherent beam-combining system.

In this paper, new wideband lens amplifiers are proposed for C-band wireless communication service. In order to obtain the wideband property, all components of the proposed lens amplifiers are designed with balanced structure and wideband characteristics. Fat dipole antenna as the input and output antenna, balanced amplifier as amplifying components, and coplanar stripline(CPS) as the delay line fer the beam focusing are used fur composing the stable wideband lens amplifier. The $5{\times}5$ 2D lens amplifier has the characteristics that the absolute gain is 7.5 dB, the EIPG is 37.4 dB at 6 GHz, and the 3-dB gain bandwidth is 19.8 %.
The artificial increase in the solar intensity incident on solar cells using lenses or mirrors can allow solar cells to generate equivalent power with a lower cost. In application areas of Fresnel lenses as solar concentrators, several variations of design were devised and tested. Some PV systems still use commercially available flat Fresnel lenses as concentrators. In this study, we designed and optimized flat Fresnel lens and the 'light pipe' to develop 500X concentrated solar PV system. We performed rigorous ray tracing simulation of the flat Fresnel lens and light-pipe. The light-pipe can play imporatant roles of redistributing solar energy at the solar cell and increase the mechanical tolerance so that it can increase the lifetime of the high-concentration solar PV system and decrease the cost of manufacturing. To investigate the sensitivity of the solar power generated by the concentrated solar PV according to the performance of lens and light pipe, we performed raytracing and executed a simulation of electrical performance of the solar cell when it is exposed to the non-uniform illumination. We could conclude that we can generate 95 % or more energy compared with the energy that can be generated by perfectly uniform illumination once the total energy is given the same.
The spherical lens is typically classified by the refractive power into two groups such as (+) diopter lens and (-) diopter lens. The deformation occurred by the external force that is applied to a lens is caused by the increase or the decrease in the diopter of a lens. In this paper, the deformation of the lens was quantitatively measured by using ESPI (Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) which have been used in the optical measurement field for past few years. ESPI has an advantage that the deformation of an object can be measured precisely by using coherence of the light. The experiment was carried out to the totally 16 types of plastic lens. It was confirmed that the deformation was decreased by increasing the diopter of the lens when same displacement was applied to the lens in case of (+) diopter lens and was increased by decreasing the diopter of the lens in case of (-) diopter lens. Also, it was found that the deformation of (+) diopter lens is less than that of (-) diopter lens. Therefore, with these results, it is expected that the possibility of the quantitative measurement for variation of the optical defect caused by the deformation of a lens when the deformation is occurred to the various types of the lens can be presented and that the application in the lens industrial field can be performed.

Pico satellite has limited surface to install the solar cells due to its extremely limited size. Also, the sun incidence angle with respect to the solar panel continuously varies according to the attitude control strategy and its important parameter for the power generation. In this study, a concentrating photovoltaic system for pico satellite application has been proposed that can enhance the power generation efficiency in case of the unfavorable condition of the sun incidence angle with respect to the solar panel of the satellite using the fresnel lens. To prove the possibility of maximizing the power generation efficiency of the proposed concentrating power system, we have performed the power measurement test using a solar simulator and commercial fresnel lens. And on-orbit analysis of the power generation efficiency using the STK which is a commercial S/W has also been performed based on the test results.
Purpose: This study was to investigate changes in the thickness of cornea, curvature of cornea, and aberration depending on the water contents, materials, and refractive power of contact lens. Methods: The differences in the corneal thickness between pre- and post-wearing the lenses were compared using 5 kinds of lenses. The changes in the corneal thickness, the curvatures of the anterior and posterior cornea, and high order aberration (HOA) before and after wearing the lenses were investigated at the center of the cornea, and the different distance and the direction away from the center of the cornea. For the equipments of measurement, ORB ScanII (Bausch & Lomb Inc, ver 3.14) was used to measure the corneal topography and thickness, and Zywave (Bausch & Lomb Inc, ver 5.20) was used to analyze the high order aberration. Results: Five (S1, S2, S3, T1, T2) of the lens was used for this study, excluding the lens T2 lens has four lenses and the thickness of the corneal shape, but the impact is minimal. In the case of the hydrogel soft contact lenses (T2 lens) with low oxygen permeability, the corneal thickness showed distinct increasing patterns. The high order aberration and coma aberration were most changed in the silicon hydrogel toric lens, while the depth of anterior was most changed in the hydrogel toric lens. Conclusion: Among the 5 kinds of contact lenses with different water contents, materials, and refractive power used for this study, the corneal shape change was small for the lenses with an oxygen permeability (Dk) of more than 28, and the largest for the lenses with a very low oxygen permeability.
In this paper, we propose the development of a small $360^{\circ}$ oral scanner lens module. The proposed small $360^{\circ}$ oral scanner lens module consists of a small $360^{\circ}$ high resolution(4MegaPixel) lens optical system, a 15mm image sensor unit, and a small $360^{\circ}$ mouth scanner lens external shape. A small $360^{\circ}$ high resolution lens optical system produces a total of nine lenses, the outer diameter of the lens not less than 15mm for use by children through the ages of adulthood. Light drawn by a small $360^{\circ}$ high resolution lens optical system is $90^{\circ}$ flexion so that image images are delivered to image sensors. The 15mm image sensor unit sends the converted value to the ISP(Image Signal Processor) of the embedded board after an image array through the column and the row address of the image sensor. The small $360^{\circ}$ mouth scanner lens outer shape was designed to fix the race to the developed lens. Results from authorized testing agencies to assess the performance of proposed small $360^{\circ}$ oral scanner lens modules, The optical resolving power of $360^{\circ}$ lens was more than 30% at 150 cycles/mm, $360^{\circ}$ lens angle was $360^{\circ}$ in vertical direction, $42^{\circ}{\sim}85^{\circ}$ in vertical direction, and lens distortion rate was 5% or less. It produced the same result as the world's highest level.
