Emerging Trends of Financial Markets Integration: Evidence from Pakistan

  • This study investigates extensively the integration of various segments of financial markets (i.e. money market, lending and deposit market, exchange rate market, and capital market) both domestically and internationally. Cointegration approach is employed in the study to find out long term relationship among the variables. Data are on a monthly interval for the period spreads over 2001 to 2010. The results show no evidence of cointegration between money market and exchange rate market and between capital market and exchange rate market of Pakistan. On the other hand, international financial markets integration is also investigated and the findings revealed that domestic money market rates of Pakistan and USA are not cointegrated. Whereas, an evidence of cointegration between capital markets of Pakistan and USA is found in this study.

  • Credit derivative is one kind of arrangement which allows one party to transfer, for a premium, the defined credit risk, computed with reference to a notional value, of a reference asset which may or may not owned by one or more other parties. Credit Default Swaps(CDS) have existed since the early 1990s, but its use has become increasingly popular over time. CDS is the fastest growing segment of the privately negotiated derivatives business as many firms depend on it to efficiently manage the financial market risks inherent in economic activities. The diversification function is especially important for active CDS market participants as banks. CDS banks can achieve their loan portfolio diversification which provides them with increased capacity to expand their lending.

중소.벤처기업의 신용대출 활성화 방안

  • 우리나라 금융시장에서는 부동산담보 위주의 대출관행이 지속되고 있다. 이러한 대출관행은 부동산 수요의 유발로 부동산 가격상승의 원인이 될 뿐만 아니라 금융기관이 담보 부족을 이유로 중소 벤처기업자금 지원에 소극적이거나 기피하는 등 신용경색의 요인으로도 작용할 수 있다. 아울러 담보 부동산가격이 하락할 경우 금융기관의 부실이 될 수 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 금융기관의 낙후된 여신심사 및 사후관리기법을 선진화하고 효율적인 대출제도를 도입함으로써 중소 벤처기업의 신용수준에 부합하는 신용대출을 활성화하여야 한다. 본 연구는 중소 벤처기업의 신용대출을 활성화할 수 있는 방안들을 살펴보았다. 먼저 1980년대의 미국 및 일본의 금융위기와 이의 대응방안을 비교함으로써 담보대출의 문제점 및 개선을 위한 시사점을 살펴보았다. 다음으로 관계중시대출(relationship lending)을 통한 신용대출 활성화를 지적하였는데 관계중시대출은 금융기관이 고객과 밀접한 관계를 장기간 유지함으로써 고객에 대한 정보를 축적하여 금융서비스를 제공한다. 관계중시대출의 중소 벤처기업대출에 대한 시사점은 은행과 차입 중소 벤처기업은 긴밀한 관계유지가 장기적으로 모두에게 도움을 주는 합리적인 신뢰관계를 구축하여 신용대출을 가능하게 한다. 마지막으로 중소 벤처기업 신용대출의 활성화방안을 금융당국, 금융기관 그리고 중소 벤처기업으로 나누어서 각각 제시하였다.

  • 전자책은 최근 몇 년 동안 급속 성장을 하고 있는 중이다. 전자책은 현재 판매와 대여라는 두 가지 방식으로 서비스되고 있는데, 이 서비스의 법적 근거는 무엇인지 따져본다. 저작권자는 저작물의 원본이나 그 복제물을 공중에게 대가를 받거나 받지 아니하고 양도 또는 대여할 권리인 배포권을 가진다. 단, 배포권은 최초 판매의 원칙에 의해 제한을 받는다. 저작권자의 허락을 받아 판매된 복제물의 경우 더 이상 저작권자의 배포권이 미치지 않으며, 이를 최초 판매의 원칙이라고 부른다. 최초 판매의 원칙은 도서나 영화 DVD 등과 같은 유형물에만 적용되는 것으로서, 디지털화되어 유형물 없이 거래되는 저작물은 그 적용 대상이 아니다. 단, 우리나라 법에는 최초 판매의 원칙의 예외로 판매용 음반이나 판매용 프로그램에 대해서는 대여권을 부여하고 있다. 예외 조항에 전자책은 포함되지 않는다. 법적 근거가 없는 전자책 대여의 맹점에 대해서 고찰토록 하겠다.

영국(英國)의 국가도서관제도(國家圖書館制度)

  • 영국(英國)에서는 대학도서관(大學圖書館), 공공도서관(公共圖書館) 및 특수도서관(特殊圖書館)을 포함하여 각종(各種)의 도서관(圖書館)이 많이 있다. 그러나 불과 몇 달전까지만 해도 국가도서관제도(國家圖書館制度)가 없었다는 것은 경이(驚異)할만한 일이며, 세계적(世界的)으로 유명(有名)한 영국박물관도서관(英國博物館圖書館)도 공식적(公式的)인 국가도서관(國家圖書館)이 아니었기 때문이다. 1972년(年)에 새로운 입법(立法)이 통과되어, 소위 "영국도서관(英國圖書館)"이라 불리우는 국립도서관(國立圖書館)이 현재(現在) 건립중(建立中)에 있는데, 이것은 영국박물관도서관(英國博物館圖書館)(British Museum Library), 국립과학발명참고도서관(國立科學發明參考圖書館)(National Reference Library of Science and Invention), 국립과학기술대출도서관(國立科學技術貸出圖書館)(National Lending Library for Science and Technology), 국립중앙도서관(國立中央圖書館)(National Central Library) 및 영국국립서지관(英國國立書誌館)(British National Bibliography)을 통합(統合)하여 3부(部)로 구성(構成)되어질 것이다.

A Study on the Modified Elliptic Function with Progressively Diminishing Ripple Characteristics (점진적 감소 파상 특성을 갖는 변형된 elliptic 함수에 관한 연구)

  • The elliptic filters are optimal in the sense that the magnitude characteristic exhibits the steepest slope at the cutoff frequency. The other characteristics such as delay and step response, however, are rather undesirable. In this paper, the modified elliptic low-pass filter function is proposed. The modified elliptic function possesses progressively diminishing ripples in both passband and stopband, and the lower pole-Q, values when compared to the elliptic counterparts, thus producting the flatter delay characteristics and improved time-domain performances. And it is realizable in the doubley-terminated ladder structures for the order n even or odd, thus lending themselves amaenable to high-quality active RC or switched capacitor filters through the simulation techniques.

A survey on the clothing consumption activity and the home background (피복의 소비행동과 가정 배경에 관한 실태조사)

  • The purpose of the study is to researdch clothing consumer behavior of men and women over age of 20 years and to find out the reasonable maximum utility on clothing behavior. The factors are eight distinguished parts such as sex, age, monthly income, occupation, floor space, number of room, number of family and place of residence. A common questionaire is introduced to survey the clothing consumption activity and the home background. Sources to measure them are gathered in the whole country including major cities. The questionaire of 915 correspondents of 368 males and 547 females is investigated for this research. Some of the data are analyzed by correlation, frequency, percentage, mean, and S.D. Others are investigated by ANOVA Test, x2-Test, and Multiple Range Test. The results from the survey are as followings: 1. Only four factors such as sex, monthly income, occupation, and floor space have a significance in the clothing consumption activity. 2. This survey reveals that many cloths have been kept in dead storage and concerns of utility have risen high. 3. This survey has shown that the correspondents have deep concerns about using colthing exchange store, clothing lending store, and trunk room to utilize dead storage clothing efficiently.

  • The purpose of this study is to apply efficiently a successful Project Finance in BTL. To use Project Finance, it is necessary to Risk Analysis of each work step. This Risk Analysis have to repeatedly progress in overall Project Process. The differences between Corporate Finance and Project Finance are remarkably appeared in Risk Allocation and Limited Resource. To use successful Project Finance in construction industry, first, raising project confidence, second, technical : economical : lawful evaluation by Finance Expert, third, Income Guarantee for Lender or Consortium of Lending Banks, forth, Leverage Effect of Project Sponsor must be preceded.

  • Bankruptcy prediction is an important and widely studied topic since it can have significant impact on bank lending decisions and profitability. Recently, support vector machine (SVM) has been applied to the problem of bankruptcy prediction. The SVM-based method has been compared with other methods such as neural network, logistic regression and has shown good results. Genetic algorithm (GA) has been increasingly applied in conjunction with other AI techniques such as neural network, CBR. However, few studies have dealt with integration of GA and SVM, though there is a great potential for useful applications in this area. This study proposes the methods for improving SVM performance in two aspects: feature subset selection and parameter optimization. GA is used to optimize both feature subset and parameters of SVM simultaneously for bankruptcy prediction.

  • The house price rise suddenly is not only Economic stability but economic, mental state of a heavy burden to people. This paper is a house finance environment analyzed in this research about the rise factor of the house price and the result to present the plan to the natural disposition. The financial institute has an influence on the disguised demand extension of the house and The mortgage Lending in commercial Banks with the earnings as the stability high than the industry loaning. A house finance environment changes and will go from economic factor of the variety of the life style, the housing conditional according to the income level, a children education condition, and the population structure many this little. The disposition of the house need changes according to this and will have an influence on the house price. Necessary for a house market environment house policy of the market need which the consistency reflects so that we are suitable and is desired.
