A Study on the Preference of Leisure Facilities of Residents Living in Apartment-Complex for Developing Leisure Facilities in Residential Environment (지역사회 여가시설 개발을 위한 공동주택거주자들의 여가활동 장소 및 여가시설에 대한 선호 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the preference and needs of leisure facilities of residents living in apartment complexes. The questionnaire survey was conducted in the selected apartment complexes, and 676 responses were used for data analysis. The statistical techniques used for data analysis included frequencies, percentage, mean, $X^2$-test, and multiple regression. The major findings were as follows: 1) Subjects needed the diverse leisure facilities such as sports center and resident's self government facilities. And they needed diverse facilities for sports. 2) In terms of location, they needed leisure facilities which was closer to their house. 3) The degree of satisfaction of leisure facilities was lower than neutral. The satisfaction of leisure facilities related with diversity of leisure facilities and program, and poor environment. 4) It was found that the respondents preferred safe and various leisure facilities, and the leisure facilities were exclusively used for the residents only, and the use by non-residents should be charged at the expense. Also, respondents were willing to pay additional fee for the better quality of leisure facilities, and sports leisure facilities congregated in one building were highly desirable.

  • To design common facilities that support residents' leisure activities is one of the comtemporary issues in Korea. People became interested in the leisure facilities in near-home environments. The purpose of this study was to analyze the uses and needs of leisure facilities of residents living in apartment complexes The questionnaire survey was conducted in the selected apartment complexes, and 676 responses were used for data analysis.   • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of leisure behavior of the five-day workweek company employees for developing leisure facilities in residential environment. The questionnaire survey was used. The subjects of questionnaire survey were 247 staffs of 4 banks. The questionnaire consisted of leisure time, the cost of leisure, consciousness of leisure, actual condition and need of leisure activities and spaces, leisure satisfaction and limitation on leisure. Frequency, percentage, and mean, correlation, $x^2-test$, and factor analysis were used for data analysis. The major results were as follows. 1) Leisure is necessary to strengthen the unity of family and cultivate the sentiment. 2) The degree of satisfaction of leisure facilities was lower than neutral. The satisfaction of leisure facilities related with cost, time of leisure, information of leisure facilities and program, and leisure environment. 3) Present leisure behavioral characteristics were restrictive and passive. However, the subjects showed hopes to increase their leisure activities and to engage in diverse forms of leisure in the future. Also, they showed an increased desired ratios in participating in each leisure activities. 4) In terms of location, they needed leisure facilities which was closer to their house.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of leisure facilities and to examine residents' needs for leisure facilities in apartment complex. The questionnaire survey and content analysis were used. The Data for content analysis were 476 site plans, and the subjects of questionnaire survey were 673 residents lilving in 35 apartment complex. Frequency, Percentage, and mean, ANOVA-A, x^{2}-test, and multiple regression were used for data analysis. The major results were as follows. 1) Facilities for children play, and senior, sports facilities, community center, green area, and resting place were included in leisure facilities in apartment complex. These facilities were different according to complex site and built-period. 2)The degree of satisfaction of leisure facilities was lower than neutral. The satisfaction of leisure facilities related with diversity of leisure facilities and program, and poor environment. 3) Subjects needed the facilities recommended in housing act including diverse leisure facilities such as sports center and resident's self government facilities. And they needed divers facilities for sports. 4) In terms of location, they needed leisure facilities which was closer to their house.

  • Modern society features rising incomes, and recreation is considered very important. Unlike the past, the desire for cognition and leisure is expected to accelerate. In addition, modern society realizes life satisfaction through leisure. Therefore, leisure policy is needed to ensure universal access, and facilities for leisure activities are also important factors for leisure activities. Therefore, in this study, we examined the effects of leisure policy on leisure facility satisfaction, and leisure facilities were classified into public facilities and private facilities. In addition, we explored the relationship between leisure perception and leisure use. After establishing the research model, we conducted exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis based data obtained from questionnaires. Results found leisure policy has a positive effect on satisfaction with public facilities and private facilities, satisfaction with public facilities has a significant effect on leisure perception and leisure utilization, and satisfaction with private facilities has a significant effect on leisure perception. Finally, we analyzed the mediating effects of the parameters, analyzed the effects of the mediating effects on leisure utilization, and presented results.

The Effects of Leisure Facilities Preference and Leisure Participation on the Life Satisfaction of New-generation Married Women (신세대 기혼여성의 여가시설선호 및 여가활동참여가 생활만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this empirical study is to examine the effect of leisure facilities preferences and leisure activities of new-generation married women on their life satisfaction. The samples was composed of 195 married women under 35 years. old, selected by age and local distribution. The major findings of this study re as follows. The new-generation wives preferred culture.intellectual arts facilities to sport facilities to sport facilities and participated in home-oriented activities. The more new-generation married women participated in active leisure, the higher level they showed in life satisfaction. There is no significant affect of leisure facilities preference on life satisfaction. The finding of this study provide implications regarding the policies on leisure facilities and leisure education programs to enhance the quality of life of the new-generation wives, such as establishing community leisure facilities which can help the mother as well as young children enjoy their leisure activities with less expense, and managing continuing education programs in which the new-generation wives easily participate with their families.

Current Status and Features of Leisure Facilities in American Multi-family Housing Properties (미국의 공동주택 단지 내 여가시설의 계획 현황 및 특성 분석)

This trend encouraged this research study. The objectives of this study are: to analyze the current status and characteristics of leisure facilities in apartment communities, to examine the correlations among leisure facilities, and to suggest design considerations for Korean multi-family housing communities. Subject communities are located in the five metropolitan areas in the United States. The 460 apartment communities were randomly selected after a thorough review of a website for apartment finders. Among them, the 126 communities were selected for the analysis. Primary findings are as follows: (1) A total of 30 facilities were identified as the creational facilities in apartment properties. (2) Some leisure facilities were correlated with the other facilities, based on the Pearson's correlation analysis.(3) In addition to the facilities, some apartment communities provide leisure programs for their residents. These results suggest that architectural interventions and maintenance services as well should be considered in order to lead diverse leisure activities for residents.

Actual condition and recognition of middle school students′ utilization of neighborhood leisure facilities in In-chon (인천광역시 중학생의 근린여가시설 이용실태와 인식도)

  • The Purpose of this research is to investigate utilization and recognition about neighborhood leisure facilities of middle school students. The data were collected through the questionnaire from 532 second grade students of 6 middle schools at Yeon-su Gu. Nam-dong Gu, and Suh Gu in In-chon. Results of the study are as follows; 1) They were most likely to use the consumptive and commercial entertainment-association facilities. There was no difference in the total number of frequencies of using facilities among the three areas. The students were more likely to use the leisure facilities whatever available for them easily to access. 2) All the using degree, sufficient degree and satisfactory degree of the leisure facilities were below the middle Point. The degree of using facilities by the student was insignificantly different among three areas but the sufficient and satisfactory degrees were varied. The regression result showed that the use of Public facilities as well as culture or sports facilities significantly increased sufficient and satisfaction degrees This research suggests to offer inexpensive leisure facilities of culture and sports in district residential area so as to access easily and to offer facilities for girls' students to activate using leisure facilities.

  • This research is executed to find out the boundary of use by the conscious of local residents and to get the basic materials for the distribution of outdoor leisure-facilities. The map of use distribution of the outdoor leisure-facilities in a neighbourhood unit is made by applying a concept of the probabilistic contour line based on the choice model of outdoer leisure-facilities in the city of Seoul, Taegu an\ulcorner Kwangju. The results are listed as follows. 1) The use of outdoor leisure-facilities is influenced on the accessibility by the physical obstacles of streets and hills, etc. 2) The limitation of uses applying the model of choice probability are different according to the accessibility, the percentage of utilities and the arriving range based on the questionnaires which are surveyed the choice of outdoor leisure facilities of the residents of Seoul, Taegu and Kwangju. 3) The distribution of outdoor leisure facilities is decided by the limitation of use with the conscious of local residents.
