중금속 오염 토양에서 재배한 주요 작물별 가식부 중금속 축적 농도 및 생물농축계수 (Heavy Metal Accumulation in Edible Part of Eleven Crops Cultivated in Metal Contaminated Soils and Their Bio-concentration Factor)

  • BACKGROUND: The current study was conducted to examine the species specific accumulation of Cd and Pb in 11 crop species (Soybean, Sesame, Corn, Polished rice, Carrot, Potato, Garlic, Spring onion, Chinese leek, Red pepper, Eggplant), through cultivating them under the same condition with metal contaminated soils.METHODS AND RESULTS: Eleven crop species were cultivated in three different soils contaminated with Cd and Pb and harvested. Edible parts of each crop was pretreated and analyzed to determine Cd and Pb concentrations, and subsequently bioconcentration factors (BCFs) were calculated. In general, the crops of which seeds are used as food showed high concentrations of both Cd and Pb. For instance, Cd concentrations in crops cultivated in Soil A was in the order of soybean (0.432 mg kg-1) > sesame (0.385) > polished rice (0.176) > carrot (0.116) > corn (0.060) > red pepper > (0.047) > potato (0.044) > egg plant (0.025) > garlic (0.023) > spring onion (0.016) > Chinese leek (0.011). BCFs showed the same order.CONCLUSION: From this study, it can be conclude that seeds plants should not be cultivated in Cd and Pb contaminated soils to secure food safety from metal contaminated soils.

서울북부지역에서 유통되고 있는 농작물의 잔류농약 분포 (The Distribution of Pesticide Residues in Commercial Agricultural Products for the Northern Area of Seoul)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the 106 kinds of pesticide residues in agricultural products (n=3,614) by GC, for the northern area of Seoul from March (1999) to December (2000). The detection rate of pesticide residues in samples was 5.0% (mean =2.86$\pm$7.22 mg/kg, n=180). The order of the agricultural products in which pesticide residues were detected was korean lettuce > perilla leaf, pepper > chinese cabbage > leek > spinach. The percentage of the agricultural products in excess of MRL was 2.0% (n=73). The agricultural products in excess of MRL were korean lettuce (n=15), perilla leaf(n=13), leek (n=6), spinach (n=6), pepper (n=5), chwinamul (n=5), etc. The order of the pesticide residues which were detected in agricultural products was procymidone endosulfan chlorpyrifos vinclozolin chlorothalonil and diazinon. The average residual values of procymidone, endosulfan, chlorpyrifos, vinclozolin, chlorpyrifos, and diazinon were 4.07, 1.24, 1.27, 2.83, 17.71 and 1.48 respectively. The pesticide residues in excess of MRL were chlorpyrifos (n=19), endosulfan (n=12), procymidone(n=), vinclozolin (n=6), etc, and the measured concentration ranges of chlorpyrifos, endosulfan, procymidone, vinclozolin, pyrazophos, diazinon and EPN were 0.03-6.72, 0.18-5.8, 2.0-60.8, 1.70-20.33, 0.26-1.21. 0.59-4.3 and 0.28-4.19 respectively.

녹색잎 채소류의 ${\beta}$-Carotene과 Lutein 함량 (Beta-carotene and Lutein Contents in Green Leafy Vegetables)

  • Beta-carotene and lutein contents in 7 different green leafy vegetables(perilla leaf, mugwort, chwi, lettuce, spinach, leek, and crown daisy) were analyzed by HPLC. The isocratic separation was performed on a ${\mu}-Bondapak$ $C_{18}$ column with a solvent system of acetonitrile : dichloromethane : methanol = 70:20:10. To check the reliability of the method applied, precision and recovery tests were performed. Perilla leaf showed the highest ${\beta}-carotene$ content(12,570 ${\mu}g$ / 100 g), followed by mugwort and chwi, all of those have ${\le}10,000\{\mu}g\{\beta}-carotene$ per 100 g vegetables. Green lettuce, spinach, leek, crown daisy and reddish brown lettuce contained 9,869, 6,689, 5,664, 3,601 and 3,299 ${\mu}g\{\beta}-carotene/100 g$, respectively, Lutein content was the highest in perilla leaf($13,718{\mu}g/100 g$) followed by chwi($11,989{\mu}g/100 g$), mugwort($11,522{\mu}g/100 g$), green lettuce($10,307{\mu}g/100 g$) and spinach($10,115{\mu}g/100 g$). ${\beta}-carotene$ contents in perilla leaf, mugwort, chwi and green lettuce were 47.8~49.6% of total carotenoids, and ${\beta}-carotene$ contents in the other green leafy vegetables analyzed were 37.7~41.4% Vitamin A contents of green leafy vegetables analyzed by HPLC were 2~6 times higher than the vitamin A values shown in food composition tables except crown daisy.

단체급식에서 채소류 전처리를 위한 식초 소독의 미생물적 효과 (Effect of Pre-preparation with Vinegar against Microorganisms on Vegetables in Foodservice Operations)

  • 단체급식에서 적용할 수 있는 HACCP 시스템 개발시 필요한 기초자료를 얻고자 현재 급식소에서 가열처리 없이 급식되어 위생관리가 요구되는 생채류 조리의 위생실태를 파악하고 생채류 조리의 전처리 단계에서의 채소류에 대한 식초소독의 효과를 실험하였다 고등학교 급식소 5개소의 2002년 1월부터 5월까지의 식단을 분석하여 급식횟수가 높은 생채류 중, 부추겉절이, 도라지생채, 야채샐러드의 미생물적 품질을 평가한 결과, 부추겉절이와 도라지 생채는 1g당 총균수는 $10^{5}$ ~$10^{6}$ CFU, 대장균군은 $10^2$~$10^4$CFU 수준으로 위생관리가 요구되는 상태였다. 급식소에서 생채류의 재료가 되는 부추를 물로 3회 세척한 후, 총산 농도 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%로 조절하고 농도별로 온도를 1$0^{\circ}C$, 2$0^{\circ}C$, 4$0^{\circ}C$로 유지시킨 식초소독액 각각에 부추를 넣어 5분, 10분, 30분 동안 침지시킨 효과를 실험하였다. 식초 농도가 증가할수록 부추의 총균수와 대장균군수의 감소가 증가하였으며 같은 농도에서 소독액의 온도가 높을수록, 침지시간이 길어질수록 그 효과는 높았다. 본 연구 결과에 기초하여 채소류의 질감 손상과 에너지 비용면을 고려할 때 채소류의 초기 총균수가 $10^{6}$대장균군수는 $10^3$수준일 경우 0.5%, 2$0^{\circ}C$의 식초용액으로 10분간 소독하는 것 이 적절할 것으로 생각되었다. 전처리전부추 원시료, 3회 세척한 부추, 3회 세척 후 2$0^{\circ}C$의 0.1%, 0.5%, 1% 식초소독액에서 10분간 침지시킨 부추각각의 시료들을 4$^{\circ}C$에서 저장하면서 시간별로 총균수와 대장균군수를 검사하였다. 부추 원시료와 3회 세척 시료는 저장시간이 길어질수록 미생물은 증가하여 72시간의 저장으로 저장전에 비해 총균수는 각각 5.41 log(1.8배), 0.75 log(5.6배 ), 대장균수는 각각 0.30 log(2배 ), 0.24 log(1.8배) CFU/g증가하였다. 반면 0.1%의 식초소독액에 침지하였던 부추시료들은 72시간의 저장으로 총균수와 대장균군수가 다소 증가하였으나 0.5%와 1%의 식초소독액에 침지하였던 부추시료들은 저장시간이 길어질수록 총균수와 대장균군수가 오히려 감소하였는데 이는 식초 침지시 손상되었던 부추의 총균과 대장균군의 증식이 억제된 때문이라 사료된다. 식중독 병원균인 staphy-lococcus aureus, EscheriEcia coli O157, Shigelia sonnei, Salmonella entritidis, Listeria monolytogenes를 식초농도별로 1$0^{\circ}C$에서 10분간 처리하여 배양시킨 결과, 식초농도 1%이상에서는 검출되지 않았다.

Effects of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Soil Conditions on Crop Plant Growth

  • We investigated the effects on various crops of inoculation with species of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in soils from different sources and selected AMF species suitable for domestic environment-friendly farming. Effects on plants varied with the AMF species used. In carrot, Scutellospora heterogama, Acaulospora longula, and Funneliformis mosseae had a positive effect on growth of the host, whereas AMF had only weak effects on the growth of red pepper and leek. AMF inoculation had positive effects on the growth of carrot and sorghum. The results of this study indicate the nature of the relationship between soil, plants, and AMF; this study therefore has important implications for the future use of AMF in environment-friendly agriculture.

채소추출물이 Listeria monocytogenes의 생육에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Vegetable Extracts on the Growth of Listeria monocytogenes)

  • The inhibitory effects of vegetables, collected from Jinju district, on the growth of Listeria monocytogenes were investigated. Among 12 vegerables, garlic, leek, onion and cabbage were remarkably effective to inhibit the growth of the strain. Especially with the addition of extract equivalent 0.25g of raw garlic per ml broth, the population of the strain was decreased wignificantly, and completely inhibited with the addition of 0.625g or more. During the incubation with the addition of extract equivalent 0.25g of raw garlic per ml broth, the degree of inhibition was gradually increased with the lapse of time, and completely inhibited the growth of the strain after 48 hrs. While the pH value of treated broth remained unchanged almost, those of control were slightly reduced.

Russian Comfrey의 성분조성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Component of Russian Comfrey)

  • Proximate compositions pH, contents of Vitamins in Russian comfrey(RC) were investigated to furnish basic research for the utilization of health foods or processed foods. Analysis has been made of the proximate composition of comfrey leaf and root of RC, and pH, vitamin content of RC. The moisture, crude protein, crude fat and crude ash of RC were 89.78%, 3.23g/100g, 0.40g/100g in leaf and 69.66%, 0.44g/100g, 0.21g/100g, 8.24g/100g in root, respectively. pH of RC was 7.33. The $\beta$-carotene content in RC was 1097.158$\mu\textrm{g}$/100g. Vitamin B content in RC was 0.01mg/100g. Vitamin B content in RC was 0.29mg/100g. Niacin content in RC was 1.2mg/100g. Vitamin C content in RC was 26.4mg/100g.

부추 단 묶음 결속기의 개발 (Development of Bundling Machine for Allium-odorum)

  • An Allium-odorum is difficult material to handle because it is soft and weak mechanically. For bundling work of allium-odorum, we must grip in the bundle shape of unit weight. However it is difficult to grip allium-odorum by hand because the bundle bulk is very big. Especially, in packing work, the bundle shape of allium-odorum package is more important than other vegetables because the sale price depend on the bundle shape. In this paper, we propose bundling mechanism for a rectangular shape, and semi-auto bundling mechanism by a eccentric roller and a triangular link. We carry out mechanical model and analysis respectively using the CATIA V5 and SimDesigner. We have manufactured the prototype of the semi-automatic bundling machine, and got satisfied result through field test. This machine is in the process of commercialization.

단체급식소에서 이용되는 일부 생채소의 소독방법 및 저장에 따른 품질연구 (A study for the Quality Depending on Sanitization and Storage Method of Raw Vegetables in Foodservice Operation)

  • The purpose of this study was to estimate the microbial and physicochemical quality of some raw vegetables and suggest safer methods of sanitization and storage for foodservice operations. Three sanitization methods were utilized during pre-preparation (tap water, chlorine water and electrolyzed water). Leek and Chicory were monitored as ingredient, with different storage temperatures $(3,\;10^{\circ}C)$ and periods (1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 days). The largest reduction in the microbial counts was shown with the electrolyzed water and for the case before immersion in chlorine water, performing a first washing was more effective in reducing the microbial counts than with no washing. The results showed that the storage temperature, pH, moisture content and microbial loads were important factors affecting the quality of vegetables.

한국 미기록종 마좀나방(나비목: 파좀나방과)의 보고 (New Record of The Leek Moth, Acrolepiopsis nagaimo (Lepidoptera: Acrolepiidae) from Korea)

  • 나비목 파좀나방과에 속하는 Acrolepiopsis nagaimo를 국내 미기록종으로 보고한다. 2003년 처음 김천시에서 채집되었으며, 2008년부터 안동 생물자원연구소의 마 시험포장에서 단마를 가해하는 것이 발견되었다. 성충의 형태적 특징을 기재하고, 성충 및 날개의 사진과 시맥 그림, 그리고 암수 생식기의 사진을 제공한다.
