  • The aim of this study is to analyze the meaning of Korean elders' reminiscences by analysing korean novel literature from 1930s to 1990s. The results of this study are as follows : The moaning of elders' reminiscences are the reflecting on their life, conquesting the excessive fondness the regrecting, the pursuiting of the powers, the pursuiting of the love(Jeong) and the conformation of their exsistence. Elders have tried to examine their life through reflection on their life tha? they did not live good life as son and daughter for parents and as parents for children and that they have foolishly lived, on dream that they did not come true, on their learning that they did not unsatisfied. But elders conquest the excessive fondness. They have felt their limitations of power in the conflict of human relation, the economic matter and the difficult predicament, and have finally accepted their life as it is by conquesting from their tenacity. It is dynamically found that both the reflecting on their life and conquesting of the excessive fondness. And they pursuit the powers. It means the pursuit of the vital powers, the vigorous powers and the competency, Elders have pursuited their vitality, vigor and competency through their reminiscences and have wanted to be recognized by others as a powerful being. These have dynamic and compounded aspects. Elders have pursuited the purely love (Jeong) through their reminiscence togather with their sisters and brothers. And the confirmation of their exsistence refer to through their own situation of health, condition, children, neighbourhood and doing their duty as a human. Elders have confirmed the present value of their being through the reflecting the present, past self, other men around themselves, children, neighborhood and the doing their human duty as a good men. Therefore the results of this study can offer new view on the elders' reminiscences that we have to understand them as a process as what they are, escaping from the simple logic that elders' reminiscence have a positive or a negative effects. Also, this study which have examined the natures of Korean elders' reminiscences can cast a new light on elders' nursing proper for Korean culture.

  • In this paper, we propose a neural net system for speech recognition, which is composed of two neural networks. Firstly the self-supervised BP(Back Propagation) network generates the distributed concept corresponding to the activity pattern in the hidden units. And then the self-organizing neural network forms a concept map which directly displays the similarity relations between concepts. By doing the above, the difficulty in learning the conventional BP network is solved and the weak side of BP falling into a pattern matcher is gone, while the strong point of generating the various internal representations is used. And we have obtained the concept map which is more orderly than the Kohonen's SOFM. The proposed neural net system needs not any special preprocessing and has a self-learning ability.

  • Style is considered a pivotal construct in sociolinguistic variation studies. While previous studies have examined style in traditional forms of language such as speech, very little research has examined new and emerging styles such as computer-mediated discourse. Thus, the present study attempts to investigate style in the online communication mode of chat. In so doing, the study compares text-based online chat with speech and writing. Online chat has been previously described as a hybrid form of language that is close to speech. Here, the exact nature of online chat is elucidated by focusing on contraction use. Differential acquisition of stylistic variation is also examined according to English learning background. The empirical component consists of data from Korean speakers of English. Data is taken from a written summary, an oral interview, and a text-based online chat session. A multivariate analysis was conducted. Results indicate that online chat is indeed a hybrid form that is difficult to delineate from speech and writing. Text-based online chat shows a somewhat similar rate of contraction to speech, which confirms its hybridity.. Lastly, some implications of the study are given in terms of the learning and acquisition of style in general and in online contextual modes.

  • This study aims to build a model is capable of classifying the categories of hadith, according to the reliability of hadith' narrators (sahih, hassan, da'if, maudu) and according to what was attributed to the Prophet Muhammad (saying, doing, describing, reporting ) using the supervised learning algorithms, with a view to discover a relationship between these classifications, based on the outputs of this model, which might be useful to avoid the controversy and useless debate on automatic classifications of hadith, using some of the statistical methods such as chi-square, information gain and association rules. The experimental results showed that there is a relation between these classifications, most of Sahih hadiths are belong to saying class, and most of maudu hadiths are belong to reporting class. Also the best classifier had given high accuracy was MultinomialNB, it achieved higher accuracy reached up to 0.9708 %, for his ability to process high dimensional problems and identifying the most important features that are relevant to target data in training stage. Followed by LinearSVC classifier, reached up to 0.9655, and finally, KNeighborsClassifier reached up to 0.9644.

  • The field of facial expression recognition (FER) has been actively researched to improve human-computer interaction. In recent years, deep learning techniques have gained popularity for addressing FER, with numerous studies proposing end-to-end frameworks that stack or widen significant convolutional neural network layers. While this has led to improved performance, it has also resulted in larger model sizes and longer inference times. To overcome this challenge, our work introduces a novel lightweight model architecture. The architecture incorporates three key factors: Depth-wise Separable Convolution, Residual Block, and Attention Modules. By doing so, we aim to strike a balance between model size, inference speed, and accuracy in FER tasks. Through extensive experimentation on popular benchmark FER datasets, our proposed method has demonstrated promising results. Notably, it stands out due to its substantial reduction in parameter count and faster inference time, while maintaining accuracy levels comparable to other lightweight models discussed in the existing literature.

  • The portability and immediate communication properties of mobile devices such as UMPC influence the learning processes in interacting with peers, accessing resources and transferring data. This study explores the pedagogical potential of UMPC, being utilized in inquiry-based learning process in elementary school setting. Inquiry-based teaming, offering a powerful option for occasional projects and lab activities, is a style particularly well-suited for out-of-school programs because they have a freer hand to complement, enhance, and expand on the work that children are doing in their K-12 classes. A set of questionnaires measuring the level of interest and class achievement were answered by the students before and after the inquiry-based science class in elementary school. Statistical results show that most of the students prefer UPMC-based class to the traditional class. Some guidelines for effective UPMC-based class are also provided.

  • This study investigates the usage of smartphones in English listening activities. 71 students answered the 10-item questionnaire after doing listening activity using their own smartphone for one semester in the course of Practical English listening and reading. The findings show that listening activity done with smartphone enhanced students' interest in English listening and improved their English listening skills because smart phones made customized learning possible. However, the major limitation of using smart phone is that students are distracted during activity by smart phones' other functions such as SMS and messenger. To reduce such distraction, I suggest that individual listening activity with smart phones be mixed with instructor-led activity using a classroom computer in about 50 to 50 ratio. The ratio might vary depending on the level of students' English listening skills. These findings will make a contribution to the boost of digital convergence English learning.

  • The purpose of this study was investigated the perceptions and expectations of science gifted elementary students in the laboratory-based science learning. For the purpose of this study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 science gifted elementary students in J city. The question of the interview is constructed with perception and expectation of science gifted elementary students in divided with 4steps of understanding of lesson object, planning experiment, performing experiment and drawing conclusion in laboratory-based science learning and an attitude for science. The interview is progressed per individual and all the content of the interview is recorded. The result of this research is as follows. The science gifted elementary students have a wish for building an assumption and expectation and planning an experiment with discussion more than following the textbook and teacher present. In the step of the experiment, they wanted general more discussion of their own activities rather than teacher's instruction and they wanted teacher's instruction and they wanted teacher's mediation conflicts within small groups and comments for students' experiment results. The science gifted elementary students wish to open a science lab, which man who likes science can go and come freely and to study with friends who have a same interest to make a theme. And from top to bottom they want to test autonomous and ask to salute like a representative experiment of teacher. And they ask to have a chance to test individually and want to see a movie related to an experiment before doing an experiment. Like this, it presents that the scientifically gifted elementary students want to do an experiment what they can, want to have a class which can plan and can do an experiment by themselves through discussion with the unit more than following explanation of a teacher and a textbook without condition.

  • To introduce an emissions trading system for GHG that currently have no reduction requirements, the following should be considered as priorities: eliciting the participation of the industrial sector and linking GHG emission trading systems to the emissions trading system (implemented from July 2007) that has become part of national policy with the enactment of the Special Act. Two directions can serve as viable alternatives in that regard. One is a baseline-and-credit method based on incentive auctioning. This has the advantage of inducing participation through economic incentives without a reductions commitment. The downside of this method is that it requires vast investments, as well as the fact that reaching an agreement between participants and the government to decide an objective baseline is difficult. On the other hand, the cap-and-trade method set forth in the Special Act is attractive in that it can be integrated with the air pollutant emissions trading system, but it would be difficult to elicit the participation of the industrial sector in the absence of GHG emission reduction requirements. In the current situation, it would be preferable for the government to induce the participation of the industrial sector by devising a wide variety of incentives because taking part in the emissions trading system before reducing GHG emissions offers large incentives through learning by doing. The timing of GHG reduction commitments and emissions trading system implementation may be uncertain but their Implementation will be unavoidable. Thus the government needs to facilitate preparations for emissions trading of GHG in the future and continuously review its operation in integration with the air pollutant emissions trading system to maximize adaptation and teaming by doing effect in the industrial sector.

  • The purpose of this study was on the learning satisfaction of dental hygiene students according to the face-to-face and non-face-to-face teaching methods in the COVID-19 educational environment. A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 122 dental hygiene students of G University located in Gwangju from October to November, 2020. The general characteristics, instructional characteristics, teaching methods, and learning satisfaction were investigated, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0. The effective practical teaching method chosen by the students was face-to-face, and there was a significant difference according to the class choice. The learning satisfaction according to the general characteristics showed a significant difference in the preferred practice method for improving instrument technique. The face-to-face classes showed significantly higher learning satisfaction in terms of checking on doing well study during class and the convenience. In addition, as a result of analyzing the factors influencing learning satisfaction, the choice of face-to-face class was confirmed as a significant variable. Therefore, in order to increase the learning satisfaction of students, it is necessary to design a class that essentially includes face-to-face class when planning a practice class.
