Machine learning has been applied to medical imaging and has shown an excellent recognition rate. Recently, there has been much interest in preventive medicine. If data are accessible, machine learning packages can be used easily in digital healthcare fields. However, it is necessary to prepare the data in advance, and model evaluation and tuning are required to construct a reliable model. On average, these processes take more than 80% of the total effort required. In this study, we describe the basic concepts of machine learning, pre-processing and visualization of datasets, feature engineering for reliable models, model evaluation and tuning, and the latest trends in popular machine learning frameworks. Finally, we survey a explainable machine learning analysis tool and will discuss the future direction of machine learning.
Knowledge can be more meaningful when it is shaped and personalized through interaction with others. Implementation of open learning environments such as open courseware or shared knowledge communities has gradually become more common. A case study which investigated instructors' experiences and perceptions of publishing and using open courseware in the classroom was conducted at a university in Korea. Responses from participating students and an evaluation group regarding how they perceived open learning environments were also examined. Based on the inductive analysis of the data, this study discusses advantages and challenges of publishing open courseware and collaborative learning environments. Also, practical guidelines for developing reusable learning materials are suggested.

Campus-based universities have provided face-to-face instruction traditionally. But recently, it is becoming a trend that they provide blended learning which combines e-learning and f2f instruction. Therefore, traditional university has been installing the ICT related convenience for the faculty and students to use easily to their classes. The purpose of this study is to develop quality indicators of ICT-related support for proper blended learning in traditional campus-based universities. This indicators are used for measuring the quality of ICT-related services at university level for quality education. To this end, first, we reviewed literature about quality indicators of university evaluation and e-learning. Second,we did case study. We selected and analyzed one university for a case, And we identified what elements are perceived important to faculty for more efficient use of technology to their class. Third, we summarized all this data and established the quality indicators framework of ICT-related components for blended learning in campus-based universities. Then, these indicators were revised after the expert evaluation. And then 10 experts and practitioners scored importance rating. Finally, we sum them up to 17 indicators and 48 sub-indicators in three phases (input, process, output). Among them, e-learning related organization or body, usability of Learning Management System, and quality assessment system got the highest scores. These indicators are supposed to contribute to measure the quality of ICT-related environment for blended learning and to provide informations about what is required for efficient blended learning in the campus-based universities.
The purpose of this study was to examine changes in students' awareness of online classes in university education over the three years from 2020 to 2022 during the COVID-19 pandemic. To achieve this, various aspects of online classes, including self-directed learning, interaction (between instructors and learners, and among learners), evaluation of the learning process and outcomes, and the learning environment and control of learning, were analyzed for changes from 2020 to 2022. The study included 534 university students enrolled in University A who participated in online classes in both 2020 and 2021. The purpose of this study is to analyze the current evaluation methods on faculty performance at Korean engineering colleges and develop teaching evaluation indicators for faculty performance. We investigated the faculty performance cases in engineering colleges inside and outside of the Korea, the engineering faculty's awareness of evaluation factors for their educational performance, and the appropriate ratios by indicating factors. Also we developed evaluation indicators for educational achievements to improve the current faculty performance system. 227 engineering faculty members answered our survey questionnaire. The result in the case study on faculty performance evaluation is as follows. First, most items of faculty performance evaluation are about quantitative indicators that can easily conduct objective evaluation. Second, evaluation items of faculty performance are mostly focused on instruction in a classroom. Third, the evaluation by students and administrative managers is more dominant than that by professors or their colleagues, document evaluation than on site evaluation, general evaluation than formative evaluation, and static evaluation than dynamic evaluation. Lastly, Some universities tend to substitute outstanding articles for underperforming instruction. The evaluation indicators that we have developed can be implemented by four types of subjects, such as students, professors, their colleagues, and deans. Also, based on the evaluation indicators, faculties can freely select their evaluation domains depending on the their tracks, such as a teaching track, a research track, or an industry-university cooperation track. The mandatory evaluation fields include teaching, student counselling, teaching portfolio evaluation by mentors or colleagues, class management evaluation by deans, and self-evaluation. The other areas are optional and professors can choose their evaluation factors.
