The purpose of this study is to define the different stage of global management cultures for localization from the case study of two respective multinational corporations, Nestle and Samsung Electronics invested in Vietnam, and then to find out on how Korean multinational corporations can reduce the gap of global management culture compared to global multinational corporations. In fact, Samsung has been pretty much being on a right track from the global marketing management perspective, however still stand at the beginning stage in terms of leading the global corporate culture. In comparison to Nestle with over 130 years of worldwide business experience, Samsung Electronics having only a decade global experience as a Korean multinational corporation has been found to have an obvious gap in terms of globalization which is mainly caused by global corporate culture. Even though it doesn’t seem realistic for Korean multinational corporations to immediately catch up the gap of global corporate culture against global multinational corporations with long years of global experiences and history, Korean multinational corporations need to track the foot print of every steps of globalization particularly focused on the local management culture of global multinational corporations, so that they will be able to shorten the timing to develop the true meaning of global corporate culture being evolved from the Korean management style.

There are many assertions related to biotechnology and genetically modified organisms(GMOs). Some experts have asserted that GM foods could be dangerous and that there is no reliable evidence that have been demonstrated safe through appropriate tests, and the others asserted these foods are as safe and nutritions as their conventional counterparts. The objectives of this study was to study an societal implications of biotechnology and GMOs in agriculture. To keep the balance in mind the researcher examined not only usefulness but also harmfulness of GMOs, along with the developmental process of biotechnology industry. It was observed that basically, multinational corporations developed GMOs to maximize their profit, and strengthened their control on agriculture and food through GMOs, as observed in alliance among big multinational corporations' food chain cluster and systems. Under the situation, farmers were losing their status as independent producer and were becoming propertied labor for multinational corporation through contract farming. If these trends continuous in the future, multinational corporations will have the control of genetic resources, these may bring about reduction of bio-diversity, thus may lead the opposite direction to eco-friendly agriculture. If multinational corporations' tendency to suppress the latent harmfulness for the profit continuous further, this may lead the degradation phase of farming and agriculture, thus leading negative socio-economic effects as well as culture and religion.
In 1987, M. K. Wu and Paul Chu discovered $Y_{1.2}Ba_{0.8}CuO_4$ (YBCO) with critical temperature ($T_c$) of 93 K. It has significantly lowered the cost of cooling of a material up to the point where superconductivity set in. Utilizing the cost reduction of attaining superconductivity and the vast amount of research to understand characteristics of high temperature oxide superconducting materials, there has been effort to use a high temperature superconductor as a coated conductor. It is important to characterize the materials precisely for stable performance before commercializing. We used polarized Raman scattering spectroscopy to study structural and stoichiometric information regarding $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$, $GdYBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$, and $GdBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ produced by three leading groups of producing commercial grade high temperature superconductor coated conductors American Superconductor Corporation, Superpower, and SuNAM.

Although the corporate governance plays a crucial role in protecting shareholder wealth, the effect of corporate governance on cost of debt is unclear. On one hand, the corporate governance reduces asymmetric information between corporate and external investor including debtholder leading to a decreasing in cost of debt financing. On the other hand, bondholders require higher rate of return for an improvement corporate governance. Hence, this study aims to investigate the relationship between the mechanism to improve corporate governance namely board effectiveness and the cost of debt in an emerging market. As we aim to explore the relationship between cost of debt and board effectiveness, we select corporation in Thailand as our sample because the businesses in Thailand are major debt-financing. Hence, our sample include listed firm in Stock Exchange of Thailand between 2007 and 2016. Our main findings support the sub-optimal investment hypothesis in that improved board effectiveness is associated with higher cost of borrowing. In addition, we find that the number of board member-board size, the number of board meeting, and the percentage of non-executive on audit committee play are positively associated with the cost of debt financing. Furthermore, we perform two-stage-least square (2SLS) to ensure that our results are far from endogeneity issue.
The Objects of this paper are developing and also improving a high-speed driving system of bushless DC motor(BLDCM) with economical and practical performance. Because BLDC motors are manufactured that each motor can create proper torque for their individual purpose, it is difficult to increase over the rated speed when a motor speed (with it's rated road) is reaching to a maximum speed so the motor torque cannot be increased. This paper verifies the effects of Leading Angle Algorithm, that is proposed on this paper, with examining existing methods to maximize the torque of a motor in high-speed driving area. The arithmetic processor for this experiment is TMS320C240 DSP controller that is designed for a special purpose of motor control in Texis Instrument Inc., and the used Inverter is PM10CSJ060, a Intelligent Power Module of Mitsubishi Corporation.
Purpose - This study examined the Italian eyeglass industry and the status of the franchise market. Luxottica's global growth strategy was analyzed to provide insight into the strategy and development of the Italian eyeglass industry and its franchise business. Research design, data, methodology - Luxottica's annual report, public media material, and website were examined, in addition to data from professional institutions. For the domestic eyeglass industry and franchise business, data from professional organizations, franchise information disclosure documents of the Fair Trading Commission, media materials, and related papers were investigated. Results - The success factor turned out to be securing a global wholesaler with retailers in overseas markets. This successful strategy was based on the strong entrepreneurial spirit of the founder, innovative craftsmanship, and an excellent corporate culture including corporate social responsibility (CSR). Conclusions - Considering the current environment, for Luxottica to be a leading global company, it had to review and adopt a successful vertical integration strategy, from R&D to distribution, M&A of overseas wholesalers and retailers, creative design and technical development, and sustainable cultural development
Granular maize starch was treated with Thermus scotoductus 4-${\alpha}$-glucanotransferase (${\alpha}$-GTase), and its physicochemical properties were determined. The gelatinization and pasting temperatures of ${\alpha}$-GTase-modified starch were decreased by higher enzyme concentrations. ${\alpha}$-GTase treatment lowered the peak, setback, and [mal viscosity of the starch. At a higher level of enzyme treatment, the melting peak of the amylose-lipid complex was undetectable on the DSC thermogram. Also, ${\alpha}$-GTase-modified starch showed a slower retrogradation rate. The enzyme treatment changed the dynamic rheological properties of the starch, leading to decreases in its elastic (G') and viscous (G") moduli. ${\alpha}$-GTase-modified starch showed more liquid-like characteristics, whereas normal maize starch was more elastic and solid-like. Gel permeation chromatography of modified starch showed that amylose was degraded, and a low molecular-weight fraction with $M_w$ of $1.1{\times}10^5$ was produced. Branch chain-length (BCL) distribution of modified starch showed increases in BCL (DP>20), which could result from the glucans degraded from amylose molecules transferred to the branch chains of amylopectin by inter-/intra-molecular transglycosylation of ${\alpha}$-GTase. These new physicochemical functionalities of the modified starch produced by ${\alpha}$-GTase treatment are applicable to starch-based products in various industries.

This paper researches a way of detecting fish robots moving in an aquarium. The fish robot was designed and developed for interactions with humans in aquariums. It was studied merely to detect a moving object in an aquarium because we need to find the positions of moving fish robots. The intention is to recognize the location of robotic fish using an image processing technique and a video camera. This method is used to obtain the velocity for each pixel in an image, and assumes a constant velocity in each video frame to obtain positions of fish robots by comparing sequential video frames. By using this positional data, we compute the distance between fish robots using a mathematical expression, and determine which fish robot is leading and which one is lagging. Then, the lead robot will wait for the lagging robot until it reaches the lead robot. The process runs continuously. This system is exhibited in the Busan Science Museum, satisfying a performance test of this algorithm.
In this research, we reappraise saemaul project which is a leading role of rural development in a present perspectives and deduct social and political implications for rural development. For deducting problems and implications, related documents and previous researches are reviewed. Administration statistics are also gathered and analyzed for monitoring detailed projects propulsion progress and results. Samaul project is reappraised based on previous researches such as rural development, regional agricultural production system improvement, agricultural distribution system improvement, leader breeding, income improvement, and governance. Saemaul project has basically positive characteristics because of decreasing growth gap of urban and rural area by empowering cooperation of rural residents, instilling leadership, making village fund, constricting networks of government and urban area for administrative and financial assistant. In conclusion, there are implications that continues interests of most powerful sovereignty and comprehensive assistant of government are needed for overcome agricultural and rural crisis. Saemaulundong is a united and systematic approach in village level. In south korea where most of farms are small size, village or regional level assistants started in saemaulundong are still needed. In regional development, we can infer that will and ability development of participated residents are most basic and important factors for successful project propulsion in saemaul project.
Purpose - This case study illustrates the story of eBay Korea, which owns two most leading Korean open market companies, AUCTION and Gmarket.
