  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the effects of nurses' perception of servant leadership on leader effectiveness, satisfaction and promoting additional effort. The focus was the mediating effects of leader trust and value congruence. Methods: Data were collected from 361 RN-BSN students and nurses participating in nationally attended in-service training programs. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and structural analysis with SPSS 17.0 windows program and Amos 7.0. Results: Direct effects of nurses' perception of servant leadership were negative, but mediating effects of trust and value congruency were positively correlated with leader effectiveness, satisfaction and additional effort, that is servant leadership should be effective through mediating factors. Conclusion: The study results indicate that if the middle managers of nurses can build leader trust and value congruency between nurses through servant leadership, leader effectiveness, satisfaction and additional effort on the part of the nurses could result in a positive change in the long term.

  • There is a growing interest in researching new leadership and efficient organizational management due to the changes and spread of Information Communications Technologies (ICT) related organizations. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the effect of leadership on organization in ICT R & D, and to follow the relationship between coaching leadership, leader member exchange (LMX), emotional intelligence of leaders, and organizational effectiveness. In order to verify this research problem, a total of 310 people were surveyed from employees working in the ICT R & D field. Reliability analysis of the measuring tool was tested on 80 pilot surveys in advance, and the final 285 data were used for empirical analysis excluding 25 unsatisfactory responses. For analysis, SPSS 22.0 program and AMOS were used to analyze the reliability, validity, path analysis, and control effects of the measurement tools. The findings demonstrate empirically the positive relationship between LMX and organizational effectiveness on coaching leadership in ICT R & D. In addition, by empirically verifying the effect that the emotional intelligence of the leader regulates the relationship between LMX, organizational effectiveness, and coaching leadership, then emotional intelligence of the leader can be usefully applied in ICT R & D. Furthermore, the demand for more in-depth research on coaching leadership, LMX, and emotional intelligence of leaders, which positively affects organizational effectiveness, was identified as demand for ICT R & D is increasing and horizontal and interactive leadership is needed.

  • The purpose of this study is to describe upon the most effective leadership stlyes for Airlines based on the transformational and transactional leadership that Bernard M.Bass proposed. The outcome of leadership treated here will be employee's extra efforts, employee's satisfaction with the leader, the effectiveness of the leader, involvement by employees in the organization, and management outcomes perceived by employees. The result of correlation showed that transformational leadership factors had positive impacts on the outcomes of leadership, but the transactional leadership had a negative impact on outcomes of leadership. • Sports participation can contribute to organization members' work-life balance and work motivation in order to increase performance. Based on the achievement motivation theory, this study tested the effect of sports participation on leaders' effectiveness and employees' performance. Data was collected from 213 leaders and subordinates in the South Korean army. Results indicated that leader effectiveness mediated the positive relationship between sports participation of leaders and subordinates' outcomes, such as task performance and OCB. We also found that sports participation of subordinates moderated the positive relationship between leader effectiveness and subordinates outcomes (i.e., task performance and OCB). These findings further suggest that sports participation plays an important role for leaders and subordinates to increase leader effectiveness and in/extra-role behaviors.

  • Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a network architecture, which has no backbone network and is deployed temporarily and rapidly in emergency or war without fixed mobile infrastructures. All communications between network entities are carried in ad-hoc networks over the wireless medium. Due to the radio communications being extremely vulnerable to propagation impairments, connectivity between network nodes is not guaranteed. Therefore, previously developed routing algorithms in wired networks cannot be used. And many new algorithms have been undergone. This study proposes the secondary leader approach to the cluster based routing protocol(CBRP). In case, the primary leader becomes abnormal status so that the primary leader cannot participate the communications between network entities, the secondary leader immediately replaces the primary header without selecting process of the new primary leader. The performances of proposed algorithm ACBRP(Advanced Cluster. Based Routing Protocol;CBRP using secondary leader) are compared with CBRP and results are presented in order to show the effectiveness of the algorithm.

  • Organizational learning of construction team has been long addressed in the literatures, but the mechanism of learning and the influence of leader in the team still remain vague. This paper presents a computational model (OLT) depicting the mechanism and the influence of leader in a systemic way. The OLT model is a multi-agent system based on some eloquent propositions proposed in previous researches. The proposed model is preliminarily validated by some toy-problem simulations. In the OLT model, the leader is assigned as a project manager. The results show that a proper leader can effectively improve the learning process and the result-in performance, in which the team learning is mainly affected by both the leader and the majority in a team. Based on our findings, two propositions are concluded accordingly: (1) Learning of a team would be enhanced if a proper leader is assigned; (2) The effectiveness of learning would increase in a team, in which the members retain explorative attitudes.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dark side personality traits on self-other rating agreement in leader effectiveness. Data were collected from 80 team leaders and their peers in college. Peers who conducted a team project were asked to assess performance of their team leaders on leader effectiveness, task performance, and contextual performance. The leaders were also asked to self-rate their performance on the same measures. Results indicated that there was disagreement of perceptions about personality traits between leader's self-ratings and the rating of others. First, leaders considered their own Bold, Diligent behaviors as positive influence on their leadership-related criteria, whereas peers of these leaders provided negative ratings. Also, leaders viewed Leisurely and Cautious characteristics as unrelated or negative to performance, whereas peers perceiveed these personality traits as positive to performance. Suggestions for future research were provided based on the findings.

  • The purpose of this study is to inquire into the effect of characteristics of public enterprise CEOs' leadership (transforming leadership and transactional leadership) on the leader trust and organizational effectiveness of organizational members. A survey was made on 1,124 persons being in the service of 14 marketable and quasimarketable public enterprises. The results of this study were as follows. First, it showed that the individualized consideration had an effect on the confidence level of leader. Second, it showed that the transforming and transactional leaderships had an effect on the organizational effectiveness, which the hypothesis was adopted. Third, it showed that calculable, intellectual and identical factors had a positive effect on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment, but the organizational commitment of calculable variable was rejected in the confidence level. In general, the effect of transforming and transactional leaderships as public enterprise CEOs' leadership characteristics on the organizational effectiveness by mutual confidence level of calculable, intellectual and identical standards showed that the organizational commitment was rejected in the base of identification. And other factors were adopted as a positive mechanism, which they were a mechanism suitable to public enterprise CEOs' leadership characteristics.

  • This thesis analyzes the behavior of Korean senior officers corroboratively. The subject of research is a group of senior officers who were graduated from the Korea Military Academies of three armed forces, promoted to colonel at their first screen, and served for the duration of active duty on 18-22 years. The study reviews a correlation between the academic record and military promotion, and also between it and the duration of active service. Tri-dimensional leader effectiveness model, which P. Horsey and K.H. Blanchard developed to analyze LEAD (lead effectiveness and adaptability description), is used to evaluate the basic leader behavior styles.
