Antherobacter sp.에 의한 납 제거 (Removal of Lead by Anherobacter sp.)

  • 중금속 폐수를 처리하는 활성슬러지로 부터 Arthrobactor sp.를 부터 분리하여 생체흡착 실험에 사용하였다. Aythrobactor sp.의 납 흡착량은 초기농도 500 mg/L에서 146.9 mg Pb/g dry biomass로 Sacchuomyces ceieuslae와 Sacchuomyces uvuum보다 약 4배 더 많은 흡착량을 보여주었다. pH가 1.8, 3.0 및 4.0으로 골아 질수록 납의 홉착량은 증가하였고, biomass의 양이 많아질수록 단위 미생물당 납 흡착량은 감소하였다. Biomass에 0.1M KOH, $CaCl_2$및 NaOH로 4시간 동안 전 처리하여 흡착실험을 수행한 결과 KOH로 전 처리된 biomass의 납 흡착량은 1.26배 증가하였으나 NaOH로 처리한 것은 납의 흡착량이 감소하였다. Polyacrylamide에 고정화된 biomass를 반응기에 충진한 연속실험에서, 유속 2.12 $m^3/m^2/$day 에서 15시간 동안 납 제거효율이 99%이상 되었다.

Sn-3.5wt%Ag 비납솔더를 이용한 미세피치 솔더접합부의 신뢰성에 관한 연구 (Reliability of Fine Pitch Solder Joint with Sn-3.5wt%Ag Lead-Free Solder)

  • As solder becomes small and fine, the reliability and solderability of solder joint are the critical issue in present electronic packaging industry. Besides the use of lead(Pb) containing solders for the interconnections of microelectronic subsystem assembly and packaging has enviromental problem. In this study, using Sn/Pb and Sn/Ag eutectic solder paste, in order to obtain decrease of solder joint strength with increasing aging time, initial solder joint strength and aging strength after 1000 hour aging at $100^{\circ}C$ were measured by peel test. And in order to obtain the growth of intermetallic compound(IMC) layer thickness, IMC layer thickness was measured by scanning electron microscope(SEM). As a result, solder joint strength was decreased with increasing aging time. The mean IMC layer thickness was increased linearly with the square root of aging time. The diffusion coefficient(D) of IMC layer was found to $1.29{\times}10^{-13}{\;}cm^2/s$ at using Sn/Pb solder paste, 7.56{\times}10^{-14}{\textrm}{cm}^2/s$ at using Sn/Ag solder paste.

Pb-기판의 표면특성에 미치는 합금원소의 영향 (Effects of Alloying Elements on the Surface Characteristics of Pb-Substrate for Battery)

  • Nowadays the open-type lead-acid battery for vehicle use is being replaced with the sealed-type because it needs no maintenance and has a longer cycle life. Thus researches on this battery are being conducted very actively by many advanced battery companies. There is, however, a serious problem with the maintenance free(MF) battery that its cathode electrode has a limited cycle life due to a corrosion of grid. In this study, it was aimed to improve a corrosion resistance of the cathode grid which is commonly made of Pb-Ca alloy for a mechanical strength. For this purpose, various amounts of alloying elements such as Sn, Ag and Ba were added singly or together to the Pb-Ca alloys and investigated their corrosion behaviors. Batteries fabricated by using these alloys as cathode grids were subjected to life cycle test and their corrosion layers appeared at the interface between the grids and the active materials were carefully observed in order to clarify effects of alloying elements.

Copper and Lead Concentrations in Water, Sediments, and Tissues of Asian Clams (Corbicula sp.) in Bung Boraphet Reservoir in Northern Thailand (2008)

  • Bung Boraphet is the largest freshwater reservoir in Thailand. This study examined the accumulation of copper (Cu) and lead (Pb) in water, sediment and tissues of Asian clams (Corbicula sp.) within Bung Boraphet to assess the possible polluting effect of soil erosion and the dissolution of water soluble salts from the Nan River. Samples were collected from 12 study sites within Bung Boraphet between February and December 2008. The physicochemical parameters of the water including temperature, pH, turbidity, ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, orthophosphates, biochemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen, Cu, and Pb were measured. The water in Bung Boraphet was found to be medium clean according to the surface water quality standard of Thailand. The levels of Cu and Pb in the water were low but heavy metals were detected at higher levels in the sediment and tissues of Corbicula sp. In the near future, management practices and regulator approaches for Cu and Pb contamination will be needed to protect the water in Bung Boraphet.

주조 방식 및 압연에 따른 연축전지용 납 합금 기판의 부식 특성 (Effects of Casting Method and Rolling on the Corrosion Behaviors of Pb Alloys for a Lead Acid Battery)

  • In this study, we examined corrosion behaviors of two types of Pb alloys for a lead acid battery comparatively. One containing 6.6 wt% Sn, 36 mg/kg Bi, and 612.4 mg/kg Ca was prepared by twin-roll continuous casting. The other containing 5.2 wt% Sn, 30.5 mg/kg Ag, and 557 mg/kg Ca was made by twin-belt continuous casting. Potentiodynamic polarization tests were performed to evaluate corrosion resistance. Cyclic voltammetry was done to examine oxidation and reduction reactions occurring on the surface of each alloy in 4.8 M H2SO4 solution. Electrochemical test results implied that the Pb alloy prepared with the twin-belt casting method was less stable than that cast with the twin-roll method. Such results might be due to precipitations formed during the casting process. Rolling did not appear to affect the corrosion behavior of the twin-roll samples with Ag < 10 mg/kg, while it reduced the anodic reaction of Ag on the surface of the twin-belt sample with 30.5 mg/kg Ag.

납 동위원소를 이용한 안동호 퇴적물 중의 납 오염 기원 (Tracking lead contamination sources of sediments in Lake Andong using lead isotopes)

  • 본 연구는 안동호 퇴적물 중의 납 오염 기원을 조사하기 위해 안동호 퇴적물, 안동호 유역의 토양, 광미퇴적물 및 아연제련시설의 부산물 중의 납 동위원소를 분석하고 국내 외 결과와 비교하였다. 안동호 퇴적물 중의 $^{207}Pb/^{206}Pb$$^{208}Pb/^{206}Pb$$0.827{\pm}0.004$$2.041{\pm}0.015$로서 광미퇴적물의 $0.815{\pm}0.002$$2.016{\pm}0.006$와 유사한 값을 나타내었으며, 토양 중 $^{207}Pb/^{206}Pb$$^{208}Pb/^{206}Pb$는 0.756~0.881 및 1.872~2.187로 퇴적물 및 광미퇴적물에 비해 넓은 범위의 납 동위원소 분포를 나타냈다. 아연 광석의 $^{207}Pb/^{206}Pb$$^{208}Pb/^{206}Pb$는 0.816~0.956(평균 0.832), 2.029~2.219(평균 2.059)로서 비교적 넓은 범위의 동위원소 조성변화를 보였으며, 폐수 및 슬러지 중의 $^{207}Pb/^{206}Pb$$^{208}Pb/^{206}Pb$는 0.883~0.905(평균 0.887), 2.127~2.156(평균 2.133)로 나타났다. 안동호 퇴적물은 연화광산의 광상과 유사한 납 동위원소 분포특성을 보였으며, 광미퇴적물과 토양에 의한 혼합 특성을, 아연제련시설의 경우, 캐나다 및 호주 등으로부터 수입된 아연 광석에 의한 납 동위원소 분포와 유사한 분포 특성을 나타냈다.

Size Control of PbS Colloidal Quantum Dots and Their Application to Photovoltaic Devices

  • Quantum dots (QDs) are attracting growing attention for photovoltaic device applications because of their unique electronic, optical and physical properties. Lead sulfide (PbS) QDs are one of the most widely studied materials for the devices and known to have size-tunable properties. In this context, we investigated the relationship between the size of PbS QDs and two synthesizing conditions, a concentration of ligand, oleic acid in this work, and injection temperature. The inverted colloidal quantum dot solar cells based on the heterojunction of n-type zinc oxide layer and p-type PbS QDs were also fabricated. The size of the QDs and cell properties were observed to depend on both the QD synthesizing conditions, and hence the overall efficiency of the cell could vary even though the size of QDs used was same. The QD synthesizing conditions were finally optimized for the maximum cell efficiency.

연화광산(蓮花鑛山)의 지질광상(地質鑛床) (Geology and Ore Deposits of Yeonhwa Mine)

  • The Yeonhwa Lead and Zinc Mine is located in northern part of Kyeongsang-Buk-Do, Korea, and is economically most important mine because it produces most part of the output of lead and zinc minerals in the country. Ore deposits of the mine are localized in the Pungchon Formation and several limestone seams of upper Myobong Formation in Cambrian Age. Ore solution ascended along the fractures of N-S, NE-SW or NW-SE trends and along slate and limestone boundary, and then replaced selectively limestone to make ore bodies. Skarn minerals are consisted of hedenbergite, diopside, and main sulfide mineral orebodies are composed of galena, zincblende, pyrrhotite, pyrite and a minor amounts of arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite. Metal ratio, ${\rho}_{Pb}={\frac{Pb(%)}{Pb(%)+Zn(%)}}{\times}100$, illustrates the zona I arrangements of some ore bodies. It will be inferred the flow trending of ore solution and the process reaction with adjacent country rocks. The sub-divided formations of the Pungchon limestone and Myobong slate are very useful as a criteria for detecting probable ore location. Rhodochrosite veins are good evidence for searching of ore location, especially on Pb-rich ore bodies.

Sn-37mass%Pb 솔더 및 Sn-3.5mass%Ag 무연솔더를 이용한 ${\mu}BGA$ 솔더접합부의 열피로수명 예측 (Thermal Fatigue Life Prediction of ${\mu}BGA$ Solder Joint Using Sn-37mass%Pb Solder and Sn-3.5mass%Ag Lead-free Solder)

  • This study is focussed on the numerical prediction of the thermal fatigue life of a ${\mu}BGA$(Micro Ball Grid Array) solder joint. Numerical method is used to perform three-dimensional finite element analysis for Sn-37mass%Pb. Sn-3.5mass%Ag solder alloys during the given thermal cycling. Strain values, along with the result of mechanical fatigue tests for solder alloys were then used to predict the solder joint fatigue life using the Coffin-Manson equation. In this study, a practical correlation for the prediction of the thermal fatigue life is suggested by using the dimensionless variable $\gamma$. As a result. it could be found that Sn-3.5mass%Ag has longer fatigue life than Sn-37mass%Pb in low cycle fatigue. In addition. the result with ${\gamm}ashow$a good agreement with the FEA results.

電着過酸化鉛陽極製造에 關한 硏究 (A Study on the Electrodepositic Preparation of Lead Peroxide Anode)

  • Electrodeposition of lead peroxide on the graphite core was studied. The results are following; 1) At more noble potential than 1.6V vs. S.C.E. and lower temperature than $40^{\circ}C$, $PbO_2$ deposited current efficiency is increased but deposited layer falls off easily from graphite core. 2) Oxygen overvoltage of $PbO_2$ deposited layer on the graphite core is largely with increasing $PbO_2$ depositing anodic potential and with lowlying electrolytic temperature. 3) To obtain the $PbO_2$ deposited layer without falling off from the graphite core, it is necessary to change the electrolytic conditions, anodic potential and electrolytic temperature, in four stages successively.
