  • This study suggests an indoor screen shooting system that can be connected with diverse graphic contents, through developing a gun only for indoor shooting and developing high-speed laser recognition algorithm. The dedicated gun has strong durability and was applied pneumatic solenoid valve control and invisible laser. The aim is to commercialize the indoor screen shooting system by developing a method of interacting with graphic engine through recognizing invisible laser at high speed.

  • In this paper, we present a new game interface design for First Person Shooters (FPS). Previously, FPS on computer is commonly played using keyboard/mouse or joystick along with PC display. We improve the communication environment between player and game world by means of new control system including large screen and laser gun, which create a real life-like space for players. Because traditional display for FPS uses CRT, it cannot support large screen display due to limitation of CRT technology. We designed and implemented a new input device using laser recognizable display. Results suggest that the combined interface creates a method which helps beginners to enjoy playing a FPS immediately and gives experienced players a new gaming experience.

  • Screen printing is commonly used to form the electrode for crystalline silicon solar cells. However, it has caused high resistance and low aspect ratio, resulting in decrease of conversion efficiency. Accordingly, Ni/Cu/Ag plating method could be applied for crystalline silicon solar cells to reduce contact resistance. For Ni/Cu/Ag plating, laser ablation process is required to remove anti-reflection layers prior to the plating process, but laser ablation results in surface damage and then decrease of open-circuit voltage and cell efficiency. Another issue with plating process is ghost plating. Ghost plating occurred in the non-metallized region, resulting from pin-hole in anti-reflection layer. In this paper, we investigated the effect of Ni/Cu/Ag plating on the electrical properties, compared to screen printing method. In addition, phosphoric acid layer was spin-coated prior to laser ablation to minimize emitter damage by the laser. Phosphorous elements in phosphoric acid generated selective emitter throughout emitter layer during laser process. Then, KOH treatment was applied to remove surface damage by laser. At this step, amorphous silicon formed by laser ablation was recrystallized during firing process and remaining of amorphous silicon was removed by KOH treatment. As a result, electrical properties as Jsc, FF and efficiency were improved, but Voc was lower than screen printed solar cells because Voc was decreased due to surface damage by laser process. Accordingly, we expect that efficiency of solar cells could be improved by optimization of the process to remove surface damage.

  • Recently, most of people wants to have smart life for themselves like smart phones. In this paper, we propose the smart elevator based on the laser screen, speakers and air fresheners. Using this elevator, we could enjoy the various screen inside, and we could keep contacting with manager for wifi in the emergency situation. Also, the elevator could be operated with user's motion for Kinect. Finally, we did the survey for understanding preference of smart elevator. The grops are elevator manufacturing company, elevator distribution corporation and consumers, each group have 200 people.

  • Femtosecond laser patterning of ITO on a touch screen panel with a shaped fs laser beam was investigated. A quasi flat-top beam was formed using a variable mask and a planoconvex lens. The spatial profile of the original Gaussian beam and the shaped beam were monitored by a CCD beam profiler. The laser patterned ITO film was examined using an optical microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). It turned out that the quality of the ITO pattern fabricated by a shaped beam is superior to that of the pattern without beam shaping in terms of debris generation, height of the craters, and homogeneity of the bottom. Optimum processing window was determined at the laser irradiance exhibiting 100% removal of Sn. The removal rate of In was measured to be 83%.

  • This paper proposes a method capable of stably tracking the coordinates of a patterned laser image in a curved screen shooting system using two or more channels of multiple cameras. This method can track and acquire target points very effectively when applied to a multi-screen shooting method that can replace the HMD shooting method. Images of curved screens with severe deformation obtained from individual cameras are corrected through image normalization, image binarization, and noise removal. This corrected image is created and applied as an Euclidean space map that is easy to track the firing point based on the matching point. As a result of the experiment, the image coordinates of the pattern laser were stably extracted in the curved screen shooting system, and the error of the target point position of the real-world coordinate position and the broadband Euclidean map was minimized. The reliability of the proposed method was confirmed through the experiment.

  • To estimate structural displacement, a visually servoed paired structured light system (ViSP) was proposed in previous studies. The ViSP is composed of two sides facing each other, each with one or two laser pointers, a 2-DOF manipulator, a camera, and a screen. By calculating the positions of the laser beams projected onto the screens and rotation angles of the manipulators, relative 6-DOF displacement between two sides can be estimated. Although the performance of the system has been verified through various simulations and experimental tests, it has a limitation that the accuracy of the displacement measurement depends on the alignment of the laser pointers. In deriving the kinematic equation of the ViSP, the laser pointers were assumed to be installed perfectly normal to the same side screen. In reality, however, this is very difficult to achieve due to installation errors. In other words, the pose of laser pointers should be calibrated carefully before measuring the displacement. To calibrate the initial pose of the laser pointers, a specially designed jig device is made and employed. Experimental tests have been performed to validate the performance of the proposed calibration method and the results show that the estimated displacement with the initial pose calibration increases the accuracy of the 6-DOF displacement estimation.

  • In this paper, we made a windows-based interactive presentation system using a laser pointer mouse. The system provides that a speaker controls the presentation interactively by means of a laser pointer. During the presentation, a display PC generates on its local display a bitmap corresponding to the presentation. This bitmap is then transmitted to the projector and the bitmap is then projected onto the screen. The display of the presentation is controlled by the monitoring of the laser spots that are also projected onto the screen. Laser spot control is achieved through a control system. When the processing section matches the successive laser spot positions with a pre-established spatial pattern, the corresponding display command is issued. The display command may be transmitted to the display computer which responds by an action like mouse function.
