  • This paper presents a parallel computing methodology for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) and detailed simulation contours of a real-scale fuel cell. In this work, a three-dimensional two-phase PEFC model is applied to a large-scale 200 $cm^2$ fuel cell geometry that requires roughly 13.5 million grid points based on grid-independence study. For parallel computing, the large-scale computational domain is decomposed into 12 sub-domains and parallel simulations are carried out using 12 processors of 2.53 GHz Intel core i7 and 48GB RECC DDR3-1333. The work represents the first attempt to parallelize a two-phase PEFC code and illustrate two-phase contours in a representative industrial cell.

  • The skin structure of Misgurnus mizolepis was studied based on the microanatomical investigation of skin fragments taken from four regions. The epidermis was distinguished by two types of skin glands, a small mucous cell and a large club cell. The mucous cell was acid sulfomucins (some sialomucins) but the club cell did not give any histochemical tests for mucosubstances. The presence of a well defined lymphatic system with small lymphocytes was established in the stratum germinativum layer of the epidermis. A large number of blood capillaries run very close to each other just below the basement membrane, and a definite area giving AB and PAS positive was present between the basement membrane and scale. These structural features of skin in M. mizolepis seem to be closely related with cutaneous respiration.

  • The solar energy conversion will take 10 % global energy need by 2033. A thin film type solar cell has been considered as one of the promising candidates for a large area applicable solar cell fabrication at a low cost. The metal-assisted growth of microcrystalline Si (mc-Si) films has been reported for a quality Si film synthesis at a low temperature. It discusses the spontaneous growth of a Si film above a metal-layer for a thin film solar cell. Quite recently, a substantial demand of nanomaterials has been addressed for cost-effective solar cells. The nanostructure provides a large photoactive surface at a fixed volume, which is an advantage in the effective use of solar power. But the promising of nanostructure active solar cell has not been much fulfilled due mainly to the difficulty in architecture of nanostructures. We present here the Si nanowire (SiNW)-embedded Schottky solar cell. Multiple SiNWs were connected to two different metals to form a Schottky or an ohmic contact according to the metal work function values. It discusses the scheme of rectifying contact between metals and SiNWs and the SiNW-embedded Schottky solar cell performances.

  • We report a rare case of metachronous lymphoma with two distinct cell lineages in a 75-year-old man. The patient complained about having nasal obstruction for 2 years and extranodal natural killer (NK)/T-cell lymphoma of the nasal type was diagnosed from a biopsy. The immunohistochemical staining for CD56 and in situ hybridization for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-encoded small RNA (EBER-ISH) were positive and the tumor cells were negative for CD20. After 13 months of concurrent chemoradiotherapy, the patient presented with swelling of the left testis. Positron emission tomography scan detected an abnormal uptake in the testis. A diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified, was diagnosed from subsequent radical orchiectomy. The immunohistochemical staining revealed to be positive for CD20, BCL2, BCL6, and MYC and negative for CD10 and EBER-ISH.

  • Protection of solar cell surface is important to prevent from dust, pollen, sand, etc. Therefore, development of large area antifouling film is urgent for high performance of solar cells. The surface of silica spheres was modified to fabricate large area antifouling film. The surface of monodisperse silica spheres has been modified with 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propylmethacrylate (TMSPM) to fabricate large area photonic crystal. Although the surface modification of silica spheres with TMSPM has been failed for the base catalyst, the second trial using acid catalyst showed the following results. The FTIR absorption peak at $1721cm^{-1}$ representing C=O stretching vibration indicates that the TMSPM was attached on the surface of silica spheres. The methanol solution comprised of the surface modified silica spheres (average diameter of 380 nm) and a photoinitiator was poured in the patterned silicon wafer with the dimension of 10 cm x 10 cm and irradiated UV-light during the self-assembly process. The result showed large area crack and defect free nanostructures.

  • Background: Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma (NHL), accounting for approximately 25% of NHL cases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between the BCL6 and MUM1 gene expression and patient prognosis and stage. Materials and Methods: After ethical approval, in a cross-sectional study, tissue samples of 80 patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma were analyzed for BCL6 and MUM1 gene expression. Immunohistochemical staining was performed with division into categories of 0-5%, 5-25%, 26-50%, 51-75% and more than 75%. Other clinical and histological information such as lymph node involvement, T-stage, B symptoms and patient outcome were also recorded. Data were analyzed with SPSS version 16 and a P-value less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results: The patient mean age was $46.9{\pm}10.5$ years ($47.6{\pm}10.7$ and $46.1{\pm}9.6$ for males and females, respectively). A significant association was seen between lymphoma stage and BCL6 (p=0.045) but not MUM1 expression (p=0.09). However, the latter was associated with mortality (p=0.006) as was also the BCL6 level (p=0.006). Conclusions: : Overexpression of MUM1 and BCL6 is associated with poor prognosis in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

  • Out of entire salivary tumor, 1.7% are malignant lymphoma developed in salivary gland and it is usually mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma developed in salivary gland. In the case of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, the most frequently involved extanodal sites of diffuse large B cell lymphoma are bone, skin, thyroid, gastrointestinal tract, and lung. Development in salivary gland is very rare. A 69 years old male patient who have found Lt. submandibular gland (SMG) mass a month ago is suspected of malignancy from his FNA result, so histologic exam by SMG resection was operated. According to histopathologic exam, large B cell lymphocyte infiltratration were generally shown as diffuse and lymphoepitheliallesion were not found. In immunostaining, CD79a showed positive and CD3, CAM5.2 showed negative which diagnosed as diffuse large B cell lymphoma. As Ann Arbor stage I, CEOP-B chemotherapy was used 3 times as treatment without any recurrence. In the case of malignant lymphoma in salivary gland, it develops as painless mass in ipsilateral side. If found in parotid gland, it is rare to have facial nerve falsy and pathologically diagnosed as lymphocytes of abnormal type of monoclonal immunostaining must be provided as evidence. Combined therapy is known as most effective treatment for intermediate grade.

  • Recently, data mining applications require a large amount of high-dimensional data Most algorithms for data mining applications however, do not work efficiently of high-dimensional large data because of the so-called curse of dimensionality[1] and the limitation of available memory. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes a new cell-based clustering which is more efficient than the existing algorithms for high-dimensional large data, Our clustering method provides a cell construction algorithm for dealing with high-dimensional large data and a index structure based of filtering .We do performance comparison of our cell-based clustering method with the CLIQUE method in terms of clustering time, precision, and retrieval time. Finally, the results from our experiment show that our cell-based clustering method outperform the CLIQUE method.

  • An OTHBVS cell line from HepG2 was established. This cell line stably expresses the human hepatitis B virus (HBV) middle S protein that includes the preS2 region which is important for HBV particle entry into the hepatocyte. To establish this cell line, the middle S open reading frame (ORF), with a promoter located in the 5' region and enhancer located in the 3' region, was cloned downstream from the metallothionine (MT) promoter of the OT1529 vector. In this vector, expression of the middle S protein was constructed to be regulated by its own promoter and enhancer. Expression of the large S protein which contains the preS1 region in addition to the middle S protein was designed to be regulated by the MT promoter. When extracts of OTHBVS cells were examined with an S protein detection kit (RPHA, Korea Green Cross Co.), an S protein was detected. Total mRNA of OTHBVS cell examined by northern blot analysis with an S ORF probe revealed small/middle S transcripts (2.1 kb). When the MT promoter was induced by Zn, large S transcripts (2.4 kb) were detected. The GP36 and GP33 middle S proteins were presumably detected, but large S proteins were not detected by immunostain analysis using anti-preS2 antibody.
