인공신경망을 이용한 연약지반성토의 침하예측 연구 (A Study on the Settlement Prediction of Soft Ground Embankment Using Artificial Neural Network)

  • 연약점토지반에 도로, 대규모 단지조성공사에 따른 지지력의 부족과 과대한 침하량으로 인하여 여러 가지 어려운 문제가 발생하며 최종 침하량 및 침하시간의 정확한 예측은 지반개량공법의 선정은 물론 사업비, 사업기간에 중대한 영향을 미치게 된다. 현재 사용되고 있는 침하량 예측기법으로는 Terzaghi의 압밀이론을 응용한 Asaoka법과 경험식인 Hyperbolic법, Hoshino법 등이 있다. 그러나 이러한 방법들에 의하여 예측된 침하량과 실제 침하량이 정확히 일치하지 않는 경향이 있다고 알려지고 있다. 게다가 이런 방법 등은 계측결과가 없는 설계단계에서는 사용할 수 없는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내 단지조성공사에서의 데이터와 다양한 테스트 결과값를 이용하여 성토시 침하를 보다 정확하게 예측하기 위해 인공신경망 기법인 Jordan 모델과 Elman-Jordan 모델을 적용하여 가장 적합한 모델구조를 얻고자 하였다. 개선된 인공신경망 모델에 의한 예측치를 실측치와 비교하였고, 결과값에 의하면 Jordan 모델이 Elman-Jordan 모델보다 실측치와 잘 일치하고 콘관입 저항을 이용한 예측치가 표준관입시험을 이용한 결과치보다 실제에 더 가깝다는 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 더 많은 현장실험 데이터가 확보된다면 콘관입시험을 이용한 순환형 인공신경망 기법이 침하량 예측에 있어 가장 효과적인 방법이 될 것이라 사료된다.

  • Rapid industrialization and urbanization caused by the high economic growth of the country requires optimization of land usage as well as the expansion of underground space. Therefore the construction of large and deep basements is inevitable in built up areas where the braced excavation for earth retaining structures may create many problems such as settlement and damages of nearby buildings and underground utilities. In this work, some of major influential factors concerning the stability of braced excavation are investigated and the results are compared with the field observation results. The ground water table, applied strut forces, horezontal wall displacement, infilling materials in the rock joints were found to be the most critical factors influencing the stability of braced walls constructed in the layered ground. Magnituide and type of the wall deformation was closely related to the pattern of the surface settlement. The stability of braced walls are described in terms of strut forces.

한국농촌의 다문화사회의 특징 (A Study on the Traits of Multicultural Society of Rural Areas in Korea)

  • The objectives of this study were to study multicultural society of rural areas in Korea. USA immigration law permits permanent settlement but Korea immigration law prohibits permanent settlement. USA adopted the territorial principle but Korea adopted the personal(nationality) principle. So a large number of people immigrated and settled in USA and mass(collective) immigrants is usual in USA. But foreign workers(temporary immigration) and international marriage women(individual immigrants) is usual in Korea. According to the positive law, foreign workers cannot settle down in Korea. So international marriage women immigrants are main cause of multicultural society in rural areas in Korea. This is the particularity of multicultural society in rural areas in Korea. So it is necessary to differentiate multicultural society policy according to areas and residents. Many peoples see multicultural society from a point of view of human rights and welfare. But it is also necessary to see multicultural society from a point of view of economic and policy.

폐타이어와 토목섬유에 의한 지반보강효과의 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Soil-reinforcing Effect by Waste Tires and Geocell)

  • 본 연구에서는 토목섬유의 일종인 지오셀과 새로 고안된 폐타이어로 제작된 타이어셀, 타이어 매트의 지반보강 효과를 비교ㆍ고찰 하였다. 동일한 밀도, 복토두께 조건에서 실험용 토조내 평판재하시험을 수행하였다. 시험결과 타이어셀과 타이어측면의 조합 보강재가 가장 큰 지지력 증가와 침하량 감소를 나타내었다. 타이어셀과 같은 높이로 만든 지오셀의 보강효과는 타이어측면으로 만든 매트와 유사한 보강효과를 나타냈다.

Performance of Rock-socketed Drilled Shafts in Deep Soft Clay Deposits

  • In designing rock-socketed drilled shaft, bearing capacity evaluation is very important because the maximum values of base and side resistance are not generally mobilized at the same value of displacement, FHWA and AASHTO code suggest different ultimate bearing capacity formular according to rock type and shaft settlement. In domestic code suggest base resistance and side resistance can be added on condition that after confirming the result of field load test with axial load transfer test. This paper shows that static load test and hi-directional load test result analysis of deep rock-socketed drilled shaft in three different sites. Load-settlement curve, t-z, and q-w curve in rock-socketed part were calculated and compared. t-z curve in weathered and soft rock showed no deflection softening behavior in pretty large strain (about 2-3% of diameter). Ultimate resistance could be the summation of side resistance and base resistance in rock-socketed drilled shaft in domestic sites.

수평배수재용 순환골재와 쇄석의 현장시험 (Field Test of Recycled Aggregates and Crushed Stone as Horizontal Drains)

  • In this study, field test on utilization of recycled aggregates and crushed stone as horizontal drains to use an alternative material of sand in soft ground is practiced. The settlement with time showed similarly ranged from 28.4-30.3 cm in the all horizontal materials. The excess pore water pressure of the recycled aggregates and crushed stone showed smaller than sand. The small the excess pore water pressure becomes faster the consolidation period and it can reduces the amount of residual settlement. Therefore, it was verified as having enough to an alternative materials that the field applicability is excellent. The distribution of earth pressure with time showed similarly in the all horizontal materials. The recycled aggregates and crushed stone was very applicable to practice because there is no mat resistance in the horizontal drains layer. The penetration rate in the SCP and PVD improvement sections did not show large differences as the grain size and the horizontal drainage height increases.

  • Consolidation settlements on marine dredged clays are often greatly and potentially damaging to structures. Currently, large-scale projects are in planning or progressing in Korea. These projects has been performed on thick and soft clay layers. So, the evaluation of long-term consolidation settlement is very important in design and construction. Therefore, In this study, a long-term consolidation characteristics of marine dredged clays are investigated. First, the relationship of $C_{\alpha}/C_c$ on marine dredged clays near Gwang-yang Port was evaluated. Second, long-term consolidation characteristics of the pseudo-preconsolidated ground were evaluated.

  • It is very important to pay careful attention to construction of earthwork/tunnel transition zone for railway. The transition zone of the railway is the section which roadbed stiffness is suddenly varied. Differences in stiffness have dynamic effects and these increase the forces in the track and the extent of deformation. In this study, performance of transition zone was investigated through the field tests. The wheel loads and sleeper settlement were measured after installing field testing sections.

  • Based on the proven feasibility of bottom ash and tire shred-soil mixtures as lightweight fill materials, tire shred-bottom ash mixtures were suggested as a new lightweight fill material to replace the conventional construction material with bottom ash. Therefore, we carried out the laboratory test, field compaction test and performance test of large scale embankment in order to evaluate their suitability for the use of lightweight fill materials in the before studies. We could verified that the ash, tire-shred and the mixture are able to be the useful materials as light fill materials. In this study, we estimated the long-term compressible settlements for 6 materials such as TA(Tire-Bottom Ash mixture), TBA(Tire-Bottom Ash<5mm) mixture, TWS(Tire-Weathered Soil mixture), Bottom Ash, Bottom Ash(<5mm), Weathered soils.

Compressibility of broken rock-fine grain soil mixture

  • Due to the enormous amount of fills required, broken rock-fine grain soil mixtures have been increasingly used in the construction of high-fill foundations for airports, railways and highways in the mountain areas of western China. However, the compressibility behavior of those broken rock-fine grain soil mixtures remains unknown, which impose great uncertainties for the performance of those high-fill foundations. In this research, the mixture of broken limestone and a fine grain soil, Douposi soil, is studied. Large oedometer tests have been performed on specimens with different soil content. This research reveals the significant influence of fine grains on the compressibility of the mixture, including immediate settlement, creep, as well as wetting deformation.
