The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the relation of the mentalistics linguistics and costume, and to clarify the relationship between language as psychological expressions and costume to understand the phenomena of human costume behavior more deeply and comprehensively. As for the analysis of he costume phenomena, Noam Chomsky's psychological linguistic theory were applied to costume system. In this respect, particularly, by means of Chomsky's later theory(1965), the costume behavior were analyzed. The followings are the findings of the analysis : 1. The Syntactic Component: (※ See Full-Text) 2. The Semantic Component. The costme behavior is similar to a language system. Just as one morpheme or a phrase and phrases make different sentences, so various methods wearing costume make different sentences, so various methods wearing costume make different forms is costume. Language and costume have dictionary entry showing the meaning of vocabulary, and rules combining the individual meaning of the dictionary entry to complete the sentence.

This study explores the identity-formation of adult Korean-American intentional adoptees who studied Korean in a Korean language center in New York from 2005 to 2007. Based on participant observation in the classroom, observations of student conversations in their gatherings, and discourse analysis of conversations related to why they were studying Korean, I found that adoptees felt that their lack of knowledge of Korean had caused them to fall short of expectations of ethnic Koreans. Stereotyped as Korean (or Asian) based on their looks, they were often assumed to possess knowledge of and skills associated with Korean culture, which they of course lacked. They were motivated to study Korean (and acquaint themselves with Korean culture) in order to meet these expectations.

Through the utilization of a contrastive analysis of English consonantal phonemes and their Russian counterparts, the present study investigates the challenges faced by Russian EFL learners in pronouncing English consonantal phonemes, with a particular focus on phoneme substitution errors as a principal source of erroneous pronunciation. We comprehensively explore the characteristics of both the English and Russian consonant systems, highlighting the differences between them. Based on this examination, the study aims to present the detailed articulatory characteristics and phonetic variations of Russian speakers' common mispronunciations or improper substitutes of English consonants, rather than focusing on shared ones between the two languages. Furthermore, it seeks to provide strategies for error correction and effective pedagogical strategies to address specific phonemic challenges and enhance accuracy. Grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the objectives and advantages of comparative analysis within the context of phonemic awareness, the study emphasizes the significant importance of pronunciation instruction. It points out that this area still appears somewhat overlooked in specific EFL teaching situations within the context of English language education.

Both in terms of frequency and importance, sympathy is one of the most central themes that Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1818) delves into. While not a few critics have written on the subject, one crucially important aspect has been overlooked in the previous discussions of sympathy in Frankenstein: Shelley's critical intervention in the term's long lasting association with the notion of one body from a single origin. Focusing on the novel's central theme of sympathy, my paper addresses this oversight in the existing Frankenstein scholarship. I argue that Shelley's main agenda regarding sympathy in the novel is to problematize the logic of self-reproduction implicit in the notion of sympathy as an essentially familial tie. The reading of the novel as a warning against human violation of nature has been prevalent both in academia and popular culture. Nonetheless, in terms of sympathy, this paper offers an alternative reading in which the novel questions, not valorizes, the naturalization of nature. Far from valorizing the inviolable sacredness of nature, I argue, Frankenstein is a literary project attempting to disassociate sympathy from the natural bond that one is born into, and instead, re-associate it with fellowship as a second-nature to be continuously reinvented and reeducated.

본 연구는 중국어 모어 화자 한국어 학습자의 쓰기에 나타난 오류 분석을 실시하여 오류의 원인을 살펴보고 이를 분석한 내용을 바탕으로 학습자들이 생산해 내는 오류에 효과적인 교육 방안을 제시하는데 있다. 본 연구의 분석 대상 자료는 '내가 생각하는 한국', '중국과 한국의 문화융합에 대하여', '친구' 등의 주제로 작문한 것을 바탕으로 모든 문장을 입력하고 이들 문장 중에서 어휘 오류를 추출하여 수정한 후, 본 연구자가 설정한 오류 유형의 범주에 의하여 재분류하였으며 분류한 오류의 빈도수를 작성하였다. 연구의 결과, 대치 오류 > 철자 오류 > 오형태 > 누락 오류 > 첨가 오류 의 순으로 오류의 유형이 나타났다. 오류 방지를 위한 교육 방안으로 문법적인 요소나 어휘의 형태적인 면을 제시할 경우에는 그 부분의 제약이 되는 점을 같이 제시해줘야 오류를 미연에 방지할 수 있을 것이다.

본 연구는 자동화된 통사 구문 분석 프로그램인 TAASSC를 활용하여 통사적 복잡성 지표와 분석적 척도의 언어 사용 점수 간의 관계를 살펴본다. 본 연구에서는 ICNALE 코퍼스에서 영어를 외국어로 학습하는 EFL 학생이 작성한 에세이 440개를 분석하였고, 언어 사용 점수와 Lu의 전통적인 통사적 복잡성 지표, 구 복잡성 지표, 절 복잡성지표 간의 관계를 탐색하였다. 단계적 회귀분석 결과, 구 복잡성 지표가 분석적 척도의 언어 사용 점수를 가장 잘 예측하는 것으로 나타났으나 선행연구와는 달리 언어 사용 점수를 차지하는 변량은 낮았다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 구수준에서의 통사구문에 대한 지도와 연습이 필요하다는 쓰기 교육의 시사점을 제시한다.

본 연구에서는 추상적 사고를 가능하게 해주는 개념은유 표현의 서술어를 분석하여, 추상개념의 근원영역을 찾는 알고리즘을 HowNet 지식 시스템을 이용하여 제안하고자 한다. 실제로 추상개념 '문화' 가 쓰인 242개의 은유 표현 용례 문장을 가지고 제안된 알고리즘으로 근원영역을 찾고. 이를 토대로. 목표영역 '문화' 의 근원영역이 추론기에 의하여 자동적으로 추론되는 HowNet 기반 은유 온톨로지의 구축 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 또한, 한국어 '문화' 와 영어표현 'Culture'의 근원영역 비교를 통하여 구축된 온톨로지를 영어 번역 및 작문에 어떻게 활용할 수 있는지 보이고자 한다.

We're living in a world of one global village. The globalization of business is acceleration as more companies cross national borders to find customers, materials and money. Many foreign companies and organizations are doing their business aggressively in Korea and many Korean companies and rushing into foreign market. When people communicate for business with someone from another culture, there could be difficult communication barriers to overcome resulting from differences in their values, beliefs, norms for behavior, expectations, attitudes and so on. To do successfully business, we need to understand culture background and communication style that is different from nation, race, language. Communication barriers stemming from cultural differences may vary. Largely, they can be divided into value system, non-verbal communication, and perception process. Value system can be divided into individualism versus group orientation, avoidance of uncertainty degree, power distance, and high- context culture versus low-context culture. Also non-verbal communication method and perception process may play decisive roles in communication effectiveness. Especially nonverbal communication barriers which sometimes play more important roles than the verbal parts are composed of eye contact, gesture, kinesics, proxemics, chronemics, paralanguage and language of color Cross-cultural communication affect business situation. I expect that if we understand cultural background, and then we overcome cross-cultural communication barriers. To overcome and to adapt inter-cultural business, we need to develope curriculum on the cross-cultural education which I will study in the next paper.

This study investigated the relationships between inter-cultural experience and socio-psychological adjustment to the current life among children who have refilmed from living abroad. The subject of research consisted of 102 boys and 110 girls from fourth grade through sixth grade who returned to their home country after living in a foreign correlation Data were collected from 5 elementary schools in Seoul. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, correlation analysis and regression were used for data analysis. The results of children's social-psychological adjustment were represented by 3 categories: school/friend relationship, stress/strain and language/learning. The following are the summarized results; First, girl students were more likely to adapt to school/friend relationships in Korea and had lower stress/strain than boys. Second, the children having shorter period of residence in foreign county, lower adaptation ability to different culture and extrovert personality showed higher socio-psychological adjustments after returning to Korea. Third, the adjustment to school/friends was influenced by period of residency in the foreign county, the experience of different culture, and extrovert personality. The experience of different culture and extrovert personality effected stress/strain, and the adjustments to language/learning were influenced only by the ewperiecne of different culture. Lastly, the experience of different culture was the most important variable influencing all 3 categories of socio-psychological adjustments.

본 논문은 학습된 낙관주의 관점에서 '메이플스토리' NPC들의 대화 내용을 분석하였다. NPC의 대화는 게임 이용자들의 재미와 성취욕구 부여에 큰 역할을 하며, NPC와의 반복적이고 장기적인 대화는 유저의 사고에도 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 학습된 낙관주의 설명 양식의 핵심적인 2가지 차원인 영속성과 파급성의 요소를 활용하여 분석한 결과, NPC들의 낙관주의적 언어 사용 비율은 대략 6~7%로 확인되었다. 낙관적인 대화성향을 지닌 NPC와 지속적인 소통은 게임 해비유저에게 유사한 사고를 학습할 기회를 부여할 수 있어 향후 NPC인공지능 개발시 중요한 고려사항임을 확인하였다.
